Nyrath
Ocean Heights Amusement Park was seeing quite decent traffic this summer, not the greatest ever but certainly enough to keep the place running. As it happened, Aiko was one of those there this fine summers day, mainly because it was felt (by herself among others) that exposure to the public could certainly be a good idea to try and help her get one step closer to a 'normal' mental heath state. Currently she was at the arcades, where quick reflexes, a quicker mind, and some pretty damned good technical 'skills' meant that she was currently setting her fourth high score of the day. Supercape
Professor Quill walked along the amusement arcade determined to enjoy himself. He licked an ice cream absent mindedly, and tucked the cuddly toy he had won from hoopla under his other arm. It was a day for people watching. "Lets see what these colonials do for fun" he mused. And so he strolled along, watching the young couples in love, the screaming kids with stressed parents pretending to enjoy themselves, the inevitable vagrants trying to bum a dollar, the police officer enjoying his donut a bit too much, and various other displays of the infinite complexity of human nature. Coming to the arcade section was not particularly pleasant. Loud noises and scruffy teenagers. He sighed. When he was a lad, it was all homework and study. "Kids today" he mumbled. Mind you, some of these games looked quite fun! And, he had to concede, that asian girl over at an arcade looked was doing extremely well. A sterling performance, he noted, admiring her razor sharp reflexes. "Pretty little thing", he mumbled too, with a cheeky smile. Of course, he acknowledged, too young for him. Oh to be 20 years younger. Engrossed as he was, he didn't notice as his melted raspberry ice cream fell off the top of his tilted cone. Link to comment
OmegaPlatinum
Sparksmith was in heaven. When the last arcade closed back home, he was devastated, but looking around the Ocean Hights Arcade, he was amazed. So many old arcade games... so many new arcade games. He nearly fainted. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2... Mario Kart Arcade 2... Time Crisis... Soul Calibur... Star Wars Arcade... Street Fighter...Best. Place. Ever. Kurt spent time on almost every game, playing a little of this, and a little of that. He racked up a few high scores, but nothing to send to the record books, but enough to get a crowd gathering. He stopped at Super Street Fighter 4 for quite some time, taking on any challengers, but when a kid mentioned something about a woman with blue hair tearing through high scores, too, Sparky knew he had found an adversary in an ally. Kurt sent out a spark to make a small stage, elevating himself for all to see. He spoke loudly, but in Japanese, as to isolate who hears. "" His platform lowers a bit into a seat. He waits for his challenger, eagerly beating the crap out of the game's AI. Link to comment
Darksider42
Scorpion Wins Fatality Rift gritted his teeth as he dug though his pocket for some spare change. It wasn't everyday he went down to Port Regal just for his own amusement. But he wanted an actual break for once. Besides, he didn't get to play Mortal Combat 2 very often. His guitar case was as always still by his side though. After slotting in asome change, he took a deep breath and continued from where he was. "C'mon Sub-Zero, kick his ass..." Link to comment
Supercape
Quentin became aware of a huge surge of power behind him, just to the left. Remarkable. It wasn't the normal ebb and flow of energy that criss crossed the power lines and circuitry of the arcade (very pretty, he acknowledged), but something several magnitudes higher in power, different in quality, and impossible in shape. The Kid spoke Japanese. Quentin didn't. But he could see the kid looked cool and confident despite his age. Hmph. Kids. Although he did look pretty cool, he conceded. He stiffened slightly and mustered up his composure. Well. All very well. But does he have a cape. I think not!. He had to start thinking more like Supercape, less like Quentin Quill. Link to comment
Nyrath
"" "Very well Kurt-san, I accept your challenge!" Having just finished up where she was Aiko didn't really waste time in answering the challenge. The energy manipulator barely manages to finish one fight before the gynoid is behind him. "Then shall we?" Link to comment
OmegaPlatinum
"Ryu Wins!" Appears on the screen in big red and orange letters as Aiko appears behind him. He turns around and is startled by her speed. "Ah!...Heh, I forgot how quick you are. Kurt drops a few quarters into the machine, adding a few more credits. The screen goes to the Character Select Menu. Circles fill the bottom half of the screen. Within each one is a portrait of a different character. Two circles are highlighted. One blue, and one red. Kurt, standing on the left, is player one, blue. Aiko, standing on the right, is the red cursor and player two. So, have you ever played before? Do you know the characters at all? Or do you need me to explain? Kurt moved the joystick quickly, causing the blue highlight to move down down to Rose, the Italian Fortune Teller. After selecting her, he waited for Aiko to choose. Nyrath
During the brief time from the moment the challenge had been offered to when Kurt moved the joystick the gynoid had been scouring the net (and other available sources) for relevant information. So when she got the point of choosing her character she wasn't exactly unprepared. Chun-Li appealed to her, both due to her capability in game and what Aiko had found regarding her personality. "I am not exactly clueless. Though I suspect you will win quite handily to begin. Shall we commence?" Link to comment
