trollthumper Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 All right, to recap what was mentioned in chat: -Draugr are a Norse variant on vampires, undead warriors who rest in peat bogs during the day and rise at night to feast on the flesh and blood of the living. -Draugr powers range from the typical vampiric ones -- strength, resilience, regeneration (they're even said to come back from the dead if the corpse is left undisturbed) -- to the more unconventional, ranging from precognition to weather control to shapeshifting into various animals. They're also associated with madness -- there's tales of men going from men by looking on them, and animals going mad by feeding around their graves. -Draugr are said to have a weakness to iron.
