Fox
Hmm. Do you mean plot-wise, or with that archetype? Link to comment
Aoiroo
Plot wise, I'm sort of running out of ideas. Link to comment
Fox
Ah. Not too sure myself - standard options are 'boss fight' (super-powered enemy, enemy on power-granting drugs, truly massive fight, or whatever); unknown mystery ending (they don't end up getting many answers, setting them up for vignettes); or just clearing out this last house and figuring they've done a lot of good for the night, exchanging contact information, and parting ways. Aoiroo
Well, I don't know if I could GM a massive boss fight, I could probably play mooks but I'm not good with bad characters with what if any really character dimension. Link to comment
Aoiroo
Challenger had appeared! Thug with Night Vision Goggles, no penalty in attacks because of darkness. Link to comment
Aoiroo
I didn't think about it, but yeah probably. Link to comment
Aoiroo
Door kick force 13 by thug. Link to comment
Fox
Er. Is that the attack roll for kicking the door into Dragonfly (in which case, what's the save DC?), or a check of some kind, or am I missing something? The latter's possible. I miss things all the time. :D Link to comment
Aoiroo
It's an attack roll. Link to comment
Fox
Doesn't quite hit her defense. Horray, defense-shifting! A wonderful thing...when she's not getting hit with area attacks. Or getting caught flat-footed. Or.... Melee Attack Roll vs. Thug (Dimensional Pocket) (1d20 + 8=21) If that hits the thug, it's a DC17 Reflex save to not get stuck in DAS POCKET and be removed from the fight until he can make the save to get back out. IC post pending on result. Link to comment
Aoiroo
One thug in the dimensional pocket. Link to comment
Aoiroo
Roll for initiative, three thugs, thug one's got twenty, two seven, three thirteen. Thug attack, against Dragon's defense it's a miss. Link to comment
Fox
Initiative Roll (1d20 + 6=17) About par. Certainly doesn't beat that thug with 20. Link to comment
Fox
Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug (Blast) (1d20 + 8=12) ......blargh! No. Bad rolls are not for when three people are trying to kill you. Spending a HP to reroll. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug (Blast) (1d20 + 8=12) Reroll, so that's 15+8=23. If that hits, it's a DC23 toughness save. If I'm not mistaken Dragonfly's now down to 1 hero point. The thug in Dragonfly's Dimensional Pocket gets a DC17 Will save to try to get back out. Link to comment
Aoiroo
Well lets see if the thug gets out first, will roll 4, yeah he's stuck. Alright, I'm assuming she's attacking thug one, so 18 so he's bruised. Anyway, they're still attacking, 8, 11, 8 Is her force field up? If it isn't yet, thug one hits and you have to make a toughness roll. Link to comment
Fox
Her force field and shield are both active, yeah, from back here, I think, though it was easy to miss. With the Shield ready her defense is +10, so she's DC20 to actually land a hit on. 8, 11, and 8 won't quite make it. Defense shifting is usually pretty nice against enemies with lower attack bonuses. Really, really sucks the moment villains are attack-shifted or pull out AoE or something, though, I admit...but it's a nice advantage against low-PL enemies or minions. Link to comment
Aoiroo
Thug leader attempts to just shoot Sil, 8, doesn't work, thug jumps out of way because Sil avoids the shot, leader tries to be angry but get's a crit hit to the face. Sil tries to take out the thug too, but he doesn't get hurt enough and takes his standard action to swallow some Max. Link to comment
Fox
Really need to get Dragonfly another attack or two on her array...dang one-trick-pony devices. Blast time! Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug One (Blast) (1d20 + 8=18) Assuming that hits, DC23 Toughness save. The thug in her pocket gets a DC16 Will save to get back out. Link to comment
Aoiroo
10, 17, 11, so bruised, stunned and bruised, bruised. Let's see if the thug get's out of the pocket, 6, yeah he's still stuck. Max Thug +6 str in this case, that gives him twenty strengh, and +5 attack instead of +2. Attacks Sil 11, and misses. Sil does an acrobatic bluff to get the target to fall down the stairs,13, Against thug's sense motive, 13,. Yeah, using a hero point for a reroll. 22, much better, and down goes humpty dumpty. Fox
Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug One (Blast) (1d20 + 8=21) DC23 Toughness, blahblahblah. Whee~ Darn you Dragonfly and your lack of attack variety. Should start power attacking next round so I can describe something a little different.... Thug in the pocket has a DC15 Will save to get back out. Link to comment
Aoiroo
Three strikes, thug one is out. Two and three are on there ways, and lets see thug in the corner pocket, 14, stays in the corner pocket. Let's see, Maxie rolls initiative and so does Sil, Sil 22, and Max user has 20, Sil's first so she attacks Max with a nice flying kick down the stairs. 6, she misses,. Max thug comes back and swings at her, 26, dang crit hit. DC 30. Sil blocks it, 25, So she's brusied but not stunned. Guys with guns aren't concerned with the Max Guy and sil and continue shooting, Still no hit, next round they are out of ammo. Link to comment
Fox
Power Attack time! Bless you, house rules. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug Two (Blast, Power Attack -2/+2) (1d20 + 8 - 2=22) DC25 Toughness save. Thug in the pocket has a DC14 Will save to get back out. Link to comment
Aoiroo
Thug two is stunned and bruised. Let's see if the pocket thug makes his escape, 5, no such luck. Now, Sil counter attacks the Max thug, this time might strike, 12, and misses, Max thug attack Sil, He misses too. Boring round for those two. Also, last able thug attacks, 22, I think we have a crit hit, DC 28. Link to comment
Fox
Good gracious. Ouch. This is gonna hurt. Toughness Save vs. Thug Three (DC28) (1d20 + 6=11) ....ow. This, right here, this is why I always try to save my last hero point. Spending Dragonfly's only remaining HP to reroll that. Toughness Save REROLL vs. Thug Three (DC28) (1d20 + 6=13) 7 on a reroll is 17; 17 + 6 = 23. Dragonfly's stunned and bruised. ...well, not as bad as being out of the fight. Stat updates: Her force field's down a couple ranks due to Ablative, so she's Toughness 4. She'll have to do a concentration check on her round to maintain that force field, or it goes down completely, because of the stun. No dodge bonus and -2 defense on top of that leaves her at 0 Defense. I had no idea stun crippled her so badly. This will take fixing next time she has points; in the meantime, this next round will be...interesting. Man, what the heck was that guy firing out of that gun, that it had a +8 damage bonus?
