trollthumper
A little Halloween fun for Nick Cimitiere and a motley of other heroes. Link to comment
trollthumper
Okay, just mentioning here; if tryrar doesn't post in the next two days, we'll be moving forward. Link to comment
Heritage
Okay, just mentioning here; if tryrar doesn't post in the next two days, we'll be moving forward. Works for me; can we say Dyne's mysteriously disappeared? ;) Link to comment
Heritage
For the record, Gossamer's hair can extend up to a hundred feet, and the thousands of fine fibers give her Analytic Touch. Link to comment
trollthumper
Okay, as Gossamer's hair was the first to actually touch the cameraman, and she has Analytic Touch, I would like a Notice check from Heritage, s'il vous plait. Link to comment
Heritage
Okay, as Gossamer's hair was the first to actually touch the cameraman, and she has Analytic Touch, I would like a Notice check from Heritage, s'il vous plait. Notice check for Gossamer: 1d20+6=23 Not to shabby! So what do I win? :P Link to comment
trollthumper
You win... a clue! The cameraman seems to have all his constituent pieces... but the camera's missing. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Fusion Power Attacks the wall. She inflicts a DC 30 Tou save. Assuming that doesn't break through, she'll surge and do it again. If it does break through, she'll step into the hole she made and hold it open with her mighty tentacles. Using the Bracing feat from her Super-Strength if required, or just a straight STR vs. STR to hold it open if you'd prefer. Link to comment
trollthumper
That gives us a 19, which Disables the wall, blowing a hole right through it. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
TT: So where is the van? What are we looking at outside? What's going on? Link to comment
trollthumper
The van is completely absent -- which would be some mean feat, as the thing had an entire relay post set up to carry the story back to the studio. That kind of thing would usually take longer to disassemble than you guys spent inside. In addition to that, the building just sealed itself up, as if it doesn't want you getting back in. In other words, strange things are afoot. Then again, if this is a weaksauce prompt, I can always just move the thread forward with a phone call in the right place. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Can we learn anything from a Notice check? If we can't do anything but stare, moving on might be best. Link to comment
trollthumper
Certainly. Make a Notice Check. And I'm sorry for being obtuse on this one. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Skill Mastery of 20. Link to comment
trollthumper
All right, then. There are skid marks on the road, like the van took off suddenly and burned rubber while doing so. In addition, there was a huge mixing board set out to process the feed live for air. And it looks like bits of the legs and other shards of technology broke off of it -- like the van took off without caring about the state of the board. And Fusion, in her professional capacity as a journalist, knows from the occasional trade meetings that most broadcast journalists -- especially in Freedom City -- would rather risk being flattened by a supervillain than knowingly damage equipment. Heritage
Notice check for Gossamer: 1d20+6=9 Oh for the love of...should I waste an HP on a reroll? Link to comment
trollthumper
I wouldn't bother; Fusion's already noticed what's wrong, announced it to everyone, and taken to the skies. Or the lamp posts, as the case may be. Link to comment
trollthumper
And the thing in the van attempts to throw Fusion out the window. First it needs to make an attack roll... which it doesn't. So here's where Initiative comes in. Poltergeist goes on 25. Link to comment
trollthumper
The Poltergeist builds up a static charge in the car, basically unleashing a Blast of gathered lighting... and fails, again. He must've been a heavy sleeper. Poltergeist: 26, Unharmed, 0 HP Fusion: 15, Unharmed, 3 HP Meanwhile, back at the house, Nick and Gossamer are walking into the house. Now might be a good time to roll Initiative, just in case. Nick goes on 8. Nick is going to attack the front doors of the apartment. It most certainly hits. The door needs to make a DC28 save (as this is an old thread)... and oh, look, it explodes. Fusion is up next in her corner. Link to comment
trollthumper
Fusion's strike against the van also technically counts as an attack... one the Poltergeist manages to resist, even as the axle snaps. It responds by unleashing another bolt at Fusion... and critting. Oh, my. I'll be using the Alt. Effect rules for the Crit to create a Stun attack. Fusion needs to make a DC22 Toughness save. Avenger Assembled
Fusion spends an HP: 30 And she's fine Link to comment
Heritage
Initiative for Gossamer: 1d20+7=18 Link to comment
trollthumper
And this poltergeist goes on 26. Hmm... how to put this in order... I know! Poltergeist A (for Apartment) will be holding its turn and moving down the order past Nick. Poltergeist V (for Van) will be where it is. We'll assume Fusion entered the van on the same turn Nick battered down the door, and now we're entered normal Initiative order. Poltergeist V: 25, Unharmed, 0 HP Gossamer: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Fusion: 15, Unharmed, 2 HP Nick Cimitiere: 8, Unharmed, 2 HP Poltergeist A: 7, Unharmed, 0 HP So, by that strange order, Gossamer goes next. trollthumper
As Gossamer has gone, I believe Fusion is up next. Link to comment
