tryrar Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Ah, a nice October day in the park. The cool breeze coming off the river provides a nice counterpoint to this sunny fall day, with families enjoying a relaxing Sunday. Unbeknown to them, however, there is a danger lurking right beneath their feet...one that will make this day of sun and fun seem a distant and hollow memory.....
JackgarPrime Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 It's so nice when October just starts. Not so hot to be uncomfortable, and not as cold as the months to come. Just right, a lot of the time. Not to mention all the colors the trees begin to turn. Victory was taking a moment in his patrol to look down at the tree tops of Freedom City with a smile. While he loved the sky more than anything, he had to admit that the ground can hold a beauty all its own, as well.
Raveled Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Robin walked through the waterside neighborhood, shopping bag in hand. One of her contacts in the city's mystic underworld had invited her to a 'pre-Halloween' party on the 30th of the month, and she had to assemble her costume. It was cheaper to design it and sew it herself, but she had to collect the supplies first. Sure, she could've gone to a big craft store in the city or even a mall, but she enjoyed the bohemian atmosphere of the neighborhood, so she took the afternoon off and went shopping.
Faust Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Breschau wasn't too comfortable going around the city by himself as it was still too foreign for him. But when he learned that there were areas here reserved for nature, he couldn't resist to visit. With map in hand, Breschau was able to reach the park at Riverside with minimal difficulty. The vivid trees were a contrast to the surrounding concrete jungle. It was not surprising to find monuments commemorating the city's heroes here. Breschau was at peace.
quotemyname Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 The cool air blowing off the ocean was one of Vivian's favorite things. This is why she had picked the docks to be her reading spot for the day. Since it was so far from her house, she had brought a stack of books in her bag. It had been harder to find good reading material these days. Ever since the gods had gifted her with powers, everything about her had improved, both mentally and physically. Even her reading speed was much increased. She flipped the last page of the first book, shut it, dropped it in her bag, and selected a second one. So far so good. She thought. Maybe for once my reading won't get interrupted!
tryrar Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 As the day wears on, it seems like it'd be another normal day in Freedom city. But suddenly... around 2 pm, a loud BANG! is heard, and a deep rumble is felt all throughout the area! As people stop and look around for the source of the noise, the bang is repeated, and cracks in the street south of the park is seen! there is another bang, and the street crumbles as three massive reptiles that could only be described as alligators erupt from below the street! Well, just another normal day in Freedom City then..
JackgarPrime Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 While Victory was enjoying the sights below, the explosion immediately caused him to jump to battle-ready. Quickly looking about to see where the explosion was coming from, he is just a bit taken aback by what comes out from underneath. "....Guess it's true what they say about flushing pets..." He wasted little time, however, as he jets down to meet to invaders from below! Honestly...., he muses to himself, Alligators? ....well, at least they're not giant goldfish....
Faust Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Breschau was enjoying the cool breeze when he heard and felt the street south of the park crack open. He ran straight to where the commotion originated from and saw the beasts. "Flightless Dragons!" Breschau exclaimed as he saw the giant alligators. He wondered if this was normal in the city, but then he saw the panicked and screaming populace. "I must stop these beasts!" Breschau said, moving straight to the reptiles. "You shall harm no-one!"
Raveled Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Robin whipped her head around when the crashes and slams filled the air. She was shorter than most of the crowd, so the sorceress resorted to standing on a bench and looking around. When she did, the giant alligators were obvious to see. She slid her shopping bag underneath the bench and raced towards the creatures; with a word and a hurried gesture, she was suddenly holding her staff in her hands and was ready for anything.
quotemyname Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 "Seriously?" Vivian was staring in disbelief at the scene while turned sideways on the bench looking over the back of it, "Seriously? It never fails!" Groaning, she stuffed her book in her bag, and made a run for it. For a few moments it looked like she was following the crowd of terrorized citizens, somehow outrunning even the most fit looking pedestrians. Then suddenly, she hopped down off the side of the warf and onto a lower dock and out of sight. "Ruin my book reading, will you... I'll show you..." Vivian stashed her bag on the lower dock and made herself ready to receive the power of the Gods. --- A few onlookers observed a freak flash of lightning striking one of the lower docks. Most simply attributed it to the end of the world that they were all witnessing.
Faust Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Breschau, running, closed in on the gargantuan reptiles. He was about to use his momentum to strike the nearest beast when he spotted others who were also approaching. Distracted, he stopped for a moment. One was a flying armored man. Recalling armors of long ago, Breschau suspected the man would be torn to pieces by the beast's teeth. What worried Breschau more was the arrival of a fragile looking girl! "Are these people mad?!" he wondered. "Flee to safety, citizens! Your lives are at risk!" he shouted. He was too late to run after them for the beast was already several feet away from him. He stared at the reptile's giant eyes and moved in. He slowly raised his left arm, as if to shield himself, while lowering his right. With his feet firmly planted on the ground, he pushed upwards with all his might. Swinging his right fist skywards, he gave the beast a massive uppercut aimed at it's chin.
tryrar Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 Breschau's fierce attack leaves the massive lizard stunned! It seems he found a soft point in the gator's incredibly thick hide... Meanwhile, the other two gators spread out, seeking a quick meal! One lets out a surprisingly loud, low rumble at Robin, attempting to throw her off balance, before striking with its massive jaws! The other runs surprisingly fast to a family trying to flee them...and attacks! Panicing, the run as fast as they can, but a little girl trips! As the gator opens its huge jaws, she screams "MOOOOMMMY! SAVE ME!" before the gator clamps down, trapping the girl in its mouth! What will the heros do now?!
Raveled Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 One of the monsters tried to bite at the sorceress, but she dodged it with ease, throwing her weight to one side and catching it all on her staff, letting her rebound faster than seemed possible. Her head came around and she saw the little disappear into the beast's gullet; running again, now straight into the melee, she raised her staff and pointed it at the 'gator. "Fulimnus Vento Dei," she shouted, and blue-white runes stood out on the surface of the staff. Electricity crackled up and down the length of the wood for a moment before exploding out, the bolt crossing the distance between them in a eyeblink.
