If she is studying the texts on display, Knowledge lore: Arcane!

DC 20: A little - hints of witchcraft etc in Freedom City. Real stuff, not hocus pocus.

DC 30: A lot - Genuine witchcraft occured, the vatican got involved, and references to some pacts between demons and priests.

Details up to you.

No DC 25 which has an inbetween? Thirties hard to swing, though taking ten will probably make her suspicious enough to look at the archives regardless. So, I'll take ten, ten plus arcane lore modifiers for Etain (+10).

Etain turned them invisible, it's level ten concealment so there is no trace of there presence including any sounds them make unless they touch someone. The area of the illusion is just herself and him, and the illusion hasn't been cast on him, so he can hear and see themselves normally, no one else should be able too.

Quentin

1d20+3=13

But, taking 20 which will take longer, a couple of arbitary hours, will certainly turn up something. A reference to the Latet Anguis in Herba, a pact made with Una (from FC sourcebook) by some unscrupulous INquisition agents, to help track down some witches living in FC 4-5 centuries ago.

Right, time to cheat, how about a book that has been touched by magic recently. Etain can spot that out of the piles of books like spotting a flamingo in a flock of swans.

Recently....noooooo.....

But that won't matter. Its enough to home in like a signal beacon with even a faint trace. Post as above, its not going to be a roaring tome of Necronomicon standards, but other than that the artistic licence is yours.

In essence, it will give "proof" historical that the Inquisition made some deal with Latet Anguis in Herba, Una, for her help in tracking down witches in the New World. The Inquisition clearly felt they had the legal expertise to make sure Una never took advantage of this deal.

Umm what? That doesn't answer the question. She can obviously tell what the discussion is about from the tone, or at least some hints and if the monks have done anything vaguely magical she'll know about it.

Sorry was being silly and combined it with bad communication!

From the sense motive you can tell that Rozello is scared and trying to bluff, and the two hooded monks are very intimidating.

Intimidate roll, 8, yeah, anyway, Quentin should still be invisible, the cultists are greatly within Etain's range of illusion which to be far, should be fairly far because she has progression with each round and she has been using illusions quite a bit even if it's just to use concealment. They should, be afraid, very afraid. Quentin can see the cutlass, which isn't real, but if she cuts them with it, they will bleed and feel very very real pain.
