Flare Knight Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 The bang of cymbals, the sound of drums thudding, the twangs of guitars, the sounds of wood-winds, all merged together into music. Alongside the music was the quiet roaring of people talking, the loud roar of planes and cars, and general sounds. The parade through midtown tumbled through the streets without a care, balloons of different superheroes floated through the chilly air, floats of multiple colors bounced along the ground, and the general atmosphere was one of fun, with people clapping, children cheering- or crying for other reasons-, and multiple other sounds. It was a day of fun. It was in this that, unnoticed by the crowd, a dark blue zeppelin floated through the skies over the balloons, outfitted with multiple cannons and other items. On it, a man in gold armor- two men beside him- stared at the balloons. “How Uncouth. Woman Heroes!†He barked incredulously, as a balloon of a heroine floated by him. “This parade as a whole is so insightful. Come, WU, Terror, let us descend. Open fire, a good warning volley, to show them we mean business.†He directed at a man near him, who nodded fearfully and began pressing buttons. The roar as the cannonballs struck a balloon and burst it, then hit the ground and sent a float toppling over was quickly deafened by the screams of terror from the people in attendance. They fled instantly, escaping into allies, down the streets, and multiple other ways. The people in the floats abandoned them to join in the chaos, leaving them unattended as they rolled towards the people, some faster than others, while the marching bands dropped their instruments and joined in the exodus, but their exhaustion at having to march for so long made them the most sluggish of the groups. It was within this cavalcade of terror that three people descended from the zeppelin, or, to be more precise, two men descended, the other just jumped out and slammed into the ground. One was a massive man; his height seemed to be in the double digits, at least eleven feet all, his skin a sickly yellow, his fists as big around as a man’s head, his arms like a normal person’s legs, and his legs like a normal person. With a simple effort, he lifted a float close to him over his head, and screamed as he tore it in half. The second was a man clothed fully from head to toe, half of it was white, on his left side, while his right side was covered in dark; light seeped off his right hand, while his right sucked it into a complete darkness. Turning slowly, the covered man extended his light hand, and fired a blast of pure white energy at a float. It flipped into the air, and came crashing down several feet away, skidding to a stop. The third man, dressed in his gold armor with its blue and red highlights, was The Tranquility Tyrant. Throwing several grenades forward, he smiled under his armor. “This should give us some peace and quiet.†He said, before they went off, his voice almost completely masked by a scream. As the Silence rained, unnaturally, as a truck float crashed into another one and nothing spilled out from the grinding of the two together, The Tranquility Tyrant turned around, spotting a small boy screaming silently. The armored villain pointed at him, and the black and white figure nodded, advancing on the boy with his darkness covered hand forward. Throughout this, the barrage from the Zeppelin did not stop, pounding Cannonballs into the nearby buildings without a sound, even where there should be. Silence Reigned.
KnightDisciple Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Gabriel had known about the parade, and planned to swing by once or twice on his patrol that day. He didn't want to linger, as he felt that might detract attention from the hard work others had placed into such a display. Some of those balloons were great. Especially that zeppelin...wait. Cannons? That wasn't right. Even as screams began to filter up from the streets, he poured his speed into arriving on the scene. By the time he was there, things had gone eerily silent. Even without noise, it was hard to miss the villainous trio that stood on the streets. Or the fact that one of them was about to fire on the boy with his strange powers. A silent snarl on his face as his right arm whipped up, and a strangely silent blast of sonic energy flew directly at the man who was a fan of duality.
Flare Knight Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 WU was planning on draining the boy of his life, a quick way to finish him, but they didn't reach the child before something slammed into them. The lack of sound was not just a hindrance to the people, but the villains as well were having trouble adapting to the inability to hear, so as WU was blasted away from the child their wordless curse was completely unheard as they hit the pavement and bounced over a float, coming to a rest several feet behind it. The child stopped screaming as he saw this, and smiled happily at Gabriel, but his voice was silent as he spoke, before he ran off, away from the upcoming clash of Hero and Villains. This lasted for a little bit, as the two remaining members of the group took some time to turn around- the big Yellow man seemed to have been distracted headbutting a float-, but when they did, The Tranquility Tyrant slapped the large yellow man on the shoulder, and he rushed towards Gabriel, a silent roar freezing his face.
Flare Knight Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 The massive man's charge was interuptted, however, by a streak of blue and white as Powerhouse crashed into him, the Blonde-haired hero smashed into the man at full speed, moving as fast as an Olympic runner, his muscles screaming, as he plowed towards the massive man and, at the edge of his reach, delivered a massive right hook to the brute's head that would have been massively loud, had the entire place not been silent, but the amount of resistance that Powerhouse felt made him focus entirely on the man he had just hit, instead of turning to anything else. The reason Powerhouse was here was because, simply enough, he had been watching the parade as Tim with his boss' nephew- Tim had been given time off for it- . When the first Cannonballs hit the ground, Tim had grabbed the child in his arms and ran, dashing through the crowds until he was several blocks away, putting the child down, he had rushed back as fast as he could, stripping off his clothing and wig as fast as he could, only barely removing his contacts before he saw the brute rushing towards the other man, and had intercepted him.
Flare Knight Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 As the Brute was smashed into by the smaller hero, He didn't even break stride, ignoring the fist. However, something was enough that the brute veered away from Gabriel and listed the float that WU had fallen behind. The Half-Black, Half-White covered man was standing on the other side, and calmly walked past the Brute, back towards The Tranquil Tyrant. When he reached him, he handed him a small notepad that had writing on it, which the Power-armored man read over for a time then nodded at. The Brute returned to the Tyrant's side as well, and the three took up a set of positions that faced them against the two Heroes, WU on the left, his hands extended outwards as the right hand absorbed the light Given off by the left, though as much darkness was turned into light by the left as light was to darkness by the right, while the Brute just screamed a wordless, soundless, roar. The Tyrant himself lazily stepped back, waiting to see how it played out between the four heroes. The Zepplien had apparently received new orders, however, as, with a loud gear turning sound, the Cannons began firing towards Gabriel and Powerhouse.
Flare Knight Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 WU wasted no Time in beginning his Assault. Lowering both his hands, they briefly both glowed white, then he thrust them forward. A beam of Light shot out from them at Gabriel, soundless in the void where they would be a loud bzzt in the air, closing the distance and skipping Powerhouse to aim at the white-clad hero, though the beam missed badly, shooting several feet off to the left of the Angelic Hero's head and hitting a nearby float instead. Returning his hands to his side, he grasped his face and shook to attempt to get the dizziness out of his head, then steadied himself for the next attack, the glowing of his hands back to the all-brightening white and the all-consuming darkness.
KnightDisciple Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Gabriel had started to feel a bit of panic when it sunk in how he was outnumbered, and man wasn't that yellow guy big, when... 'Huh. Well, looks like he's gonna take care of the big one. Leaves Mr. Undecided for me, I suppose' He turned his attention back to WU just as the villain charged and fired his attack...which went so wide Gabriel didn't even have to lean away from it. Instead, he turned his head to watch it hit the float, before returning his gaze to the villain in front of him. Vibration rolled silently over his body, and he smirked as he gave WU a shake of the head and the wag of a finger.
Flare Knight Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 Terror Rushed forward, his hands extended, towards the man who had, kind of, knocked him off course before. His mouth in a roar, though there was no sound, he slammed his fist into Powerhouse as hard as he could, the ground giving way under the amount of force behind the massive brute's first as it crashed into the Hero's chest, making him slide backwards from his own blow as the hero did the same, leaving the two a few feet apart at the end of it. The man seemed to attempt to say something, but the soundless world around them absorbed it instead of allowing it to exist at all. The enemies had struck, but no changes occurred in the group, save for a pair of skid-marks on the ground where the two heavy-hitters had met.
Flare Knight Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 With a grunt that was absorbed into the void, Powerhouse slid backwards, barely avoiding becoming seriously injured from the attack. hurt. he thought to himself, then shook his head, staring down the man. Beta, Cherubim, Metatron, they hurt worse. I can handle this. He thought to himself, cracking his neck and getting into a deeper stance, ready for the next round of attacks. If he could just keep the massive man busy while the White hero dealt with the odd half-man, then they could team up on this guy and maybe bring him down. He steeled his nerves, made his face blank, and prepared for his own attack.
KnightDisciple Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Gabriel frowned as his impromptu fighting partner seemed to do little against the massive yellow brute. 'I think I can pull off that trick I used on the robot a couple days ago. Even better, I don't have to touch him...' Almost absent-mindedly, he floated a few feet to one side, before he raised one hand, a look of intense concentration on his face... Before a beam of hyper-concentrated sound lanced outwards from his hand, striking the yellow one's skin, and sending ripples along it, hopefully interfering with whatever made him so tough, and giving the other hero an opening to knock him out of the fight.
Flare Knight Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 The Massive Yellow Brute named Terror failed to even notice the attack upon his skin, and though it rippled in pain, it failed to do anything to effectively hurt him. The effect rippled along his skin for several seconds, then slowly stopped, and the big yellow creature looked completely unharmed by it. Watching this go on, The Tranquility Tyrant grinned under his mask- this was going better then he thought-, and stood idle, not wanting to sully his hands when he had perfectly good minions to do it for him. As such, he took the time to slowly, achingly, readjust his armor, making sure each piece fit exactly where it should fit on it, a massive grin under his mask that no one could see, enjoying the soundless void around him
Flare Knight Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 Now that it was finally around to him and he could think Clearly, Powerhouse rushed forward, his feet stomping the ground as he launched into the air. His fist connected squarely with the creature's jaw, rocking him and sending the two skittering apart again as the two collosal creatures crashed together. Not working, need a new plan! He thought to himself, trying to figure out how to get around the strength of this brute
Flare Knight Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 Annoyed at the fact that Terror had failed to do anything to the two at all, WU extended both his hands, firing off a pair of beams of white and black at Gabriel, though this one veered off target as well, though closer, it hit a closer float and punched a hole in it. It seemed his completely covered face was ruining his own ability to aim, given how off his blasts were, but this time he did not re-adjust, he just prepared for his next blast, the light and darkness that flowed off his hands in front of him and, due to his covered face, his expression unreadable- due to mostly not having one that could be seen-, though he gave off a slight look of frustration from the way he stood.
KnightDisciple Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Gabriel frowned as his blast did nothing. 'Even tougher than I thought he'd-' Then the blast flew by his head, and his gaze turned to WU. 'I'd almost forgotten about him for a moment...' After a short pause, he turned his attention to WU, his body wreathed in silent energies that caused his coat to flutter in the air; his fists, clenched at his sides, wavered through the lenses of focused sonic energies.
Flare Knight Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 Terror rushed back at the smaller Powerhouse, once more attempting a massive right hook. This time, however, the Hero was able to avoid the blow- if barely-, as it fell to the left of his head as he brought forward the ground shaking punch. This time, the two did not fall from each other, however, as the two do not actually clash. The eyes of the two meet, one eclipsed in a forever silent roar of rage, while one is an emotionless mask of someone whose trying to just hold out. The large Yellow man seems to almost be ignoring anything else at this point, even the orders from both WU and The Tranquilty Tyrant- it appeared the Tyrant was trying to get his attention and failing- were being ignored as he attempted to pound both heroes into dust.
KnightDisciple Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Gabriel let himself float a bit further away from the hand-to-hand furball that was developing. He smirked a bit as he saw T3's futile gestures to his subordinates. Not everything was good about turning normal sound off, hm? With that, he let loose a burst of sonic energy, aiming for center mass on WU. 'If I take Mr. Confused About Color down here, I can either face off with the Man in Gold, or maybe help that other fellow take down Angry Yellow Fellow.'
Flare Knight Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 As the Tyrant continued his futile gestures, a ringing sound split the air slowly, like the chime of a church bell. The void of soundless world slowly fell away as the grenades stopped their pulses, filling the entire groups' world back into a full suite of five senses. "- You Idiot! Listen to me!" were the first words out of any of their mouths. At the epicenter, The Tranquility Tyrant's voice came back first, into the ears of the people, his voice loud and demanding as he spoke to Terror, but he still was the obvious one in control, even if one member of his group couldn't be bothered to listen to his orders.
Flare Knight Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 The larger creature's arm balanced on his shoulder- it had fallen while the punch had sailed wide of his face, so Powerhouse pulled back his own foot, and took a step forward, invading the creature's personal space. With all the power he could muster, he swung forward with a Right Cross, but the large yellow man took a step back, and the blow whistled through the air, and down, leaving him crouched over his missing shot. Then his ears returned, and his voice could be heard. "Target found. Deciding on most appropriate countermeasures." He muttered in a cold voice, Then he went cross-eyed.
Flare Knight Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 Terror's Voice was the last to return besides WU and Gabriel's, and his roar drowned out all others. The massive goliath's scream rocked windows and shattered some of them, as he stepped backwards from Powerhouse's attempted blow, leaving the spandex hero wide open. With a sickening grin, he pulled back his fist, and delivered a bone shattering uppercut to the blond hero, sending him skidding backwards with trails in the ground. "Now I crush puny bug man!" He said, lumbering towards the Hero. WU's voice returned next, though the covered man said nothing and instead continued his barrage of bolts. This one went wide as well, horribly so, and the sound of air burning as the light and darkness cut through it finally sounded in what had once been silent, as they blasted a hole through another float and turned metal in to red hot slag under the beam, as the completely covered man turned to face Powerhouse, perhaps to attempt to subdue the one that could actually be hit.
KnightDisciple Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Gabriel frowned as the battle seemed to settle into a war of attrition. He leveled his hand at WU again, and let loose a blast that suddenly gave off sound just as it impacted the street behind WU. "Okay, why attack a parade? There's no major money here or anything. No technology. What, you don't like balloons? You think you're superior because you can shoot energy beams at little kids?" Anger seeps into his voice as he again shifts position a bit, trying to maintain distance between himself and his foes.
Flare Knight Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 The Tranquility Tyrant, still standing with his hands behind his back, laughed at the question the white-suited man asked, before answering in a dry way, as if it was obvious. "How foolish are you? I attacked the parade for several reasons. First, it was unnecessarily loud, to the point of disrupting my thinking, like a thousand angry bees buzzing in my head. Second, it's foolish fixation on Woman Heroes." the way he spoke those two words made his disdain painfully obvious that they were combined together. "And those OUTFITS. Just horrendous. No sense of decency. Look at that man you have backing you up. running around without a shirt on for no reason other then the fact he doesn't have to! It's an abomination." He explained, gesturing dramatically. "I HAD to return some common decency and sense to this parade."
Flare Knight Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 The Stunned Powerhouse stumbled a bit after the hulking brute's next blow, which sent him reeling a bit, making him lose his focus as he stumbled backwards then forwards, before shaking his head. He was just getting back into the swing of it, his ears hearing again, but he didn't seem to be all there, as he stared straight ahead, his body rigid, his eyes and voice flat, as he mumbled out incoherent words and phrases "Preparing Appropriate Counter-measures." He said in a barely audible voice, flat, but not mechanical, more straight observational, like he wasn't part of the scene itself, and was just watching, as he floated a hand's width off the ground for some reason.
Flare Knight Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 Terror was annoyed that, no matter how hard he hit the small man, he refused to go down, simply standing right back up. Pulling back his neck, he rushed forward, then, with Powerhouse standing Stock still, delivered a Skull-Crushing headbutt, pounding the other hero several inches into the ground- his feet leaving imprints, as the large yellow Monstrosity continued to Roar as loud as he could, sometimes mixing in spoken words. "Die Puny! Die Die Die!" He said, spitting in the face of the blue-eyed Powerhouse. WU, on the other hand was much calmer. Rushing at Gabriel, he attempted to stab him with a flat palm covered in the sucking darkness, though he missed and the strike failed as he watched the white-clad figure carefully. "I wasn't going to blast the child." The figure said, in it's first time speaking, a Voice made up of two voices, female and male, the male voice dominant. "I was going to stab him in the throat. Much nicer way to kill." The creature said, it's female voice dominant this time, it's male voice simply an aftereffect of the female voice speaking.
KnightDisciple Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Gabriel ground his teeth in anger even as he kept his eyes on WU. "You're complaining about noise, when you're wreaking havoc with cannons and energy blasts? You complain about outfits? About a lack of "common decency"? Anyone willing to strike down a helpless child has no right to speak of common decency!" As he had been speaking, Gabriel had been carefully shaping his next attack. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he threw both arms forward and sent a burst of sound waves at WU; to the casual observer, it appeared somewhat different than his last few attacks. However, analysis would have to remain academic, as the attack missed by a country mile. 'This day is definitely not going well...'
Flare Knight Posted December 4, 2010 Author Posted December 4, 2010 The Tranquility Tyrant, his hands still behind his back, laughed off Gabriel's insults, as he enjoyed his underlings attacking, and beating, those who would dare attempt to interrupt him, calm even as he prepared issues to order their Death. "That is because, dear boy, you were not born in the same world as I was, you do not see the truth as I know it is, you see only falsehood. I bring noise to bring Silence. There is nothing more beautiful then sounds that cause Silence. So, using that logic, WU, use your voice and silence that annoying Screamer once and for all. Terror, quit playing around and pummel that shrimp you are fighting into Oblivion." He barked, not wishing to get his own hands dirty- as it was, he was only an accessory, as he had yet to inflict directly attack anyone, a decent sized Loophole he could easily fit through-, as he turned to examine the ruined Parade some more.
