Dr Archeville Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 Failing the save for Paralyze by 2 makes her slowed (can only take a move or standard action each round, and at -1 attack rolls, Defense, and reflex saves), not paralyzed. More importantly, though, are her existing Disabled and Staggered conditions: Staggered: A staggered character can take a single move or standard action each round, not both. Any further damage to a staggered character shifts the character’s condition to unconscious. Disabled: A disabled character is conscious and able to act but badly injured. He can take only a single attack or move action each round, and if he performs any strenuous action, his condition changes to dying after the completing the action. Strenuous actions include moving all out, attacking, or using any ability requiring physical exertion or mental concentration (including any power requiring a standard action). So that alone make her unconscious and dying.
quotemyname Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Well, it was either re-roll the TOU or the FORT. The DC was 26 for the TOU. Even if we "say" I switch up the results, I still rolled an 11 on the re-roll, I'm still failing the TOU by five. Unconscious and Dying by game rules. However, you're the GM here. If you want to tell this story a certain way, Fiat away!
Dr Archeville Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 Blast 11 doesn't get through Chevalier's Impervious 12 (normally 14; it's Ablative, so he lost 1p worth [2 ranks, in this case] from her hammer strike). EDIT: That's cheap, and Odin'd know better, so I'll say that one free pp you've got for the slot can be used for Penetrating 1, which'll actually force him to make a save. Toughness save, DC 26 (w/ Penetrating 1, so he actually does need to make the save) (1d20+16=17) Fails by 9, he's Bruised + Stunned! EDIT: No, he's suffering 1 Bruise already, that reduces it by 1, so he fails by 10 = Staggered & Stunned! Concentration check, DC 15, to Sustain Flight (1d20+4=12) Flight fails! Concentration check, DC 22, to Sustain Impervious Field (1d20+4=24) Impervious remains up Fort save, DC 21, vs. Paralyze (1d20+11=20) Fails by 1, so Chevalier is slowed. Stunned = he releases the grapple... and she falls! And he's falling, too! But she'll be dead by the time she hits the water. Round 3 Free Action: Switch Movement Array to Teleport Move Action: Teleport down to the water, prepare to catch Valk & take her stuff Free Action: Curse as her gear is whisked off her corpse back to Asgard! Round 4+ Swim, Fly, and Teleport back to HQ.
Ecalsneerg Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Actually, it got errata'd. Further Staggering or Disabling a Staggered subject renders them unconscious.
Dr Archeville Posted January 14, 2011 Author Posted January 14, 2011 So simply Bruising or Injuring a Staggered person won't knock them Unconscious? Good to know.
Ecalsneerg Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 So simply Bruising or Injuring a Staggered person won't knock them Unconscious? Good to know. *tap* *fall down*
quotemyname Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 With that post, I would like to have Valkyrie Archived, please!
Dr Archeville Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 They're not actually in Valhalla, they're right in front of it. Seems I accidentally omitted part of a sentence while editing it. Vivian Kriger knew light once more, the golden lights of Valhalla, shining from behind those coming towards her. Also, I added some lines to my last few posts to make Evil!Dok a bit more rant-y.
quotemyname Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 "I thank you, Father," Vivian Kriger knelt once more before the shining gates of Valhalla. "I am ready."edit'd!
