Droplet swam over to the glass still rubbing her head.

"Woah!"

The other kids couldn't hear what she said, but the expression on her face was both transparent and universal. Droplet let herself sink down to the bottom of the tank and sat cross-legged on the the rocks watching the scene unfold.

Daisuke was just about ready to consign his soul to whatever deity or ancestors would have it when a giant red hand smashed through the cage like it wasn't even there. The same cage whose bars he couldn't even budge. So it wasn't too out of character the he curled up into a ball in his corner and waited for either the skeleton that rotted things with it's touch or the red hand to kill him. What an igno... igni... stupid way to die.

When that didn't happen, and he heard a girl's voice, Daisuke opened his eyes and peered towards where the skeleton used to be. Seeing that it was no longer there, he tracked over to where a girl, presumably the one that called it off, stood with the little horror by her side. He quickly scrambled to his feet and tried to look halfway dignified. He was embarrassed enough cowering from the skeleton thing, but huddling on the floor in front of what was obviously a villain out to hurt people? That would never do!

"So, you think you'll get away with that, huh?" Daisuke said, stepping out of his former enclosure. He pointed accusingly at the girl. "You surprised me with your skeleton minion at first, but now I'm ready for you! When you talk to your villainous buddies, tell them it was Mashin-kun that beat you up!"

With that, Daisuke bounded over next to her and raised his hands as if to hit her. Unfortunately, he'd never hit a girl before, and was rather hesitant as a result. So what actually occurred was him racing up to her and holding his fists up like he was a prizefighter from the 1920's.

Darla flinched visibly as the boy approached. She jerked her head away and put her hands up over her face. Darla responded as one who had some experience with being repeatedly punched in the face.

Even though Darla was mentally retreating, the aggressive magics of Mokar were ready to fight. The red mists reformed the giant red hand between the two kids, palm out, ready to slap the boy away if needed.

"Don't to that!" Droplet screamed, but she only succeeded in making a few bubbles and an awful face.

This was no good. It was obvious that these new kids were freaks too, and the freaks shouldn't be fighting freaks. That robot kid was just going to get them all in trouble. Droplet kicked off the rocks and swam over to the glass. "Stop it!" she yelled, but this time, to make sure she was heard, she pounded on the glass with her fists.

Big mistake.

The glass panel, obviously weakened by the skeleton-boy's touch, cracked when she hit it. The glass split wide open and then shattered completely under the pressure of the water. The tent was immediately filled with the sound of crashing glass and the rush of water. All of the kids were drenched in a briny bath, and Droplet went tumbling head over heals until she landed, backside up between the machine boy and the little blond girl.

Darla was stuck by the water and by the flying (surfing?) mermaid. They bowled her over, and she smacked her head on the ground. For a moment Darla saw stars, and she completely lost her concentration. The red hand vanished again in a lingering puff of red smoke.

Completely drenched in salt water, Darla sat up and pushed her hair out of her face.

"Uh . . ."

She really didn't know what to say, so she just silently rubbed her forehead. A large red bump was already starting to form there.

The sudden intrusion of several hundred gallons of salt water served to defuse the escalating situation in rather dramatic fashion, primarily because everyone had been knocked over. Even Daisuke, weighing in at a hefty 500 lbs, was not immune to getting swept off his feet by the incoming tide.

Down in a tangle of metallic limbs and soggy tarps, Daisuke scrambled to right himself and find the evil magician girl and her skeleton minion, but managed only to lodge himself under one of the floor coverings. "Hey! Who turned out the lights?!" he said from under his canvas prison.

Dale didn't have time to resist the sudden on rush of water - he was standing quite unawares when the water swept his tiny body from the ground. He was shaken rather violently before teleporting to the top of a stack of crates - out of the water, but certainly not dry. When the water receded somewhat, Dale saw the metal boy trapped under the floor covering. He couldn't control himself, and began to laugh hysterically. All anyone could hear however was a very excited tumble of bones as Dale pointed at the boy and rolled around on the crate, his face silently laughed. Unfortunately he got a little too excited, melting the crate under him and falling through the top. When he teleported back out to his sister, Dale was covered in grain and feed - and he wasn't happy.

Droplet popped up like a piece of toast. She started to speak to the machine boy but saw that he was busy wrestling with the tarp, so she turned to the blond girl instead.

"ACKCOOUGH"

Droplet opened her mouth, fully intending to say, "Who are you?" All that came out of her mouth, however, was saltwater. She held up her index finger, the universal sign for "Excuse me while I cough up a lung." With several gut-bursting coughs and a few very un-ladylike spits, she got the rest of the water out of her lungs. Droplet wiped her lips with the back of her hand and turned to face Darla again.

A metallic hand burst through the canvas, with a second following it a moment later. The tarp got torn in half, revealing one soggy machine boy. His hair had the advantage of being made out of metal as well though, so it mostly stayed in place after the deluge.

Seeing as how the situation had calmed down significantly, Daisuke wasn't inclined to start things up again. Especially since the skeleton had somehow gotten coated in grain during the time he'd been under cover. That was pretty funny.

"Who are you?"

He looked back and forth between the mermaid (he didn't know they could live out of water!) and the witch girl, who now seemed a lot less threatening than she did before. Maybe it was the bump on her head, or the fact that she was soaked to the bone, (the skeleton was too, but since he was all bones...) but she seemed more like a person now than an enemy.

Daisuke muscled his way the rest of the way of the tarp and eagerly waited for the witch's answer.
