Aoiroo Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 23 Arcane Knowledge roll by Etain for what she should know about all this.
GranspearZX Posted February 22, 2011 Author Posted February 22, 2011 This is what you (and anyone else who wants to make the necessary roll) would know at DC20: There's a number of 'nightmare creatures' that are capable of terrorizing people in their dreams; the most common feed on a person's fears and nightmares until they wake up. The kind of precognition that Julia possesses, however, lets her look into other peoples' futures via their dreams; she likely can't wake up because she wasn't in her own dreamscape when she was caught peeping. While I'm at it: 1d20+11=24
Griffalo Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Is there anything magical about anything in the room?
Aoiroo Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Would Etain get a anything from a notice check(not of the room, but of the girl herself).
GranspearZX Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 I'll assume you're taking 20 for a Notice check; she's sweating and a little on the pale side, however--clearly not in the best condition. If you look close enough, you can see faint eye movement while her eyes are closed, as well.
Supercape Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 As we are in a new surrounding, Rene will use ESP of his Mental Sense (Mind's Eye) on the surroundings. ESP extends to 100 feet from his current position. For Notice its a bad roll: 1d20+8=12 For Search its 1d20+1=15 slightly better.
Aoiroo Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Notice check for Etain, 25, so what's that tell her?
Aoiroo Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 So I'm thinking, how would Etain's powers work on the dreaming since her powers are mental illusions, and on some levels dreams are the same that she would be able to directly effect the dream unlike the real world.
GranspearZX Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Everything the group interacts with in this particular case is very real. Ultimately the nightmare construct--or at least this particular one--is elaborate and powerful enough that it can't be altered any more than might be possible in the physical world. Now, as for that Notice check: *Etain would notice that the amulet's magic is anchoring Julia to the room. Not that she could leave in the condition she was in, of course, but the amulet's magic is making her mind a sort of portal between the real hospital and the room.
GranspearZX Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 Need a round of Notice checks from everyone. Sorry I've been absent. :(
GranspearZX Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 Apologies for the absenteeism on my part. But with finals in two weeks, I'll be around a lot more (since I don't have nearly as much work), so I'll be moving the thread forward at a more or less steady clip from here on in. Again, I'm sorry for not being around more.
