JackgarPrime Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Just to be sure: It's still Blueshift's turn, right? Cannonade hasn't gone yet? I'm just being careful not to miss mine.
quotemyname Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I think it's still mine, yes. I'm just waiting to be clear on what I can do before I rush ahead of the GM :)
trollthumper Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 Well, Cannonade went, and he busted the tank. I wanted to give it over to quote on the grounds that we're out of combat, but if Victory wants to do something, go ahead.
JackgarPrime Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Might as well try to search for the brat, right? While Blueshift tries the hi-tech approach, Victory can just go to his full Flight and scour as much ground as possible. He can move 5,000,000 feet in a regular move action, so....that's a lot of ground he can scour.
trollthumper Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Yeah, that is. I may need a Notice check on that Ultrasonic Hearing, though.
quotemyname Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Shouldn't he have to be making search checks? It's kind of the same as with ESP, except you're manually searching the area, rather than mentally searching the area. No? EDIT: And just to clarify, I would like to act, but I need a description of Blueshift's digital surroundings in order to act ON them. Sure, I'd like to track Doc home. But it's difficult to write an IC post about that when I have no clue what the digital landscape looks like.
trollthumper Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Yeah, I suppose Search fits better. As for digital surroundings... Inside the tank's server -- which somehow survived despite the main chassis being blown the heck up, so it's likely meant to serve as a black box -- Doc has decided to cut his ties to the machine and am-scray as the server starts to shut down. You can chase him over the connection -- which quickly goes from being militaristic and efficient to the "stream of data" that you might typically find in an urban cyberscape -- and since you beat his firewalls earlier, you can pretty much dodge whatever he throws at you this time.
JackgarPrime Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 So just Search? Or can I use his (better) Notice?
trollthumper Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Search. Given that Doc Otaku is likely hiding within cover and behind walls and windows, and Victory is browsing a large area, Search better represents the ability to pick him out amongst all the other sights and scenes.
JackgarPrime Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF oh wow Search Check (1d20+1=3) Let's burn an HP for that one and re-roll. Search Check (1d20+1=4) I guess that's a 14 with Improve. Otaku must've gotten into Invisible Castle and is screwing with my rolls!
quotemyname Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Actually, that was Blueshift. She wants to be considered useful for her hacking and locating-secret-base skills. :P
JackgarPrime Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Dammit, Blueshift! Do you still have a grudge for Victory's "tear open a hole in the roof and just use that" plan revision?!"
quotemyname Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Hahahaha! I suppose that's possible. Great role reversal for me. I'm usually the one playing the character that thinks the fastest way from point a to point b is through the wall directly in front of them (the door standing just off to the side that leads to the same place not being even worth of mention).
trollthumper Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 A 14's a bit too low for the Search check. Blueshift, however, will be able to trace the connection back to the Wifi in a Holiday Inn in Port Regal. IC post to match up.
JackgarPrime Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Bugger. Can I try again next...let's say round?
trollthumper Posted April 1, 2011 Author Posted April 1, 2011 Well, Blueshift can probably relay directions to you now.
JackgarPrime Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 So, might as well stop the car before it gets away. There's no way it's far enough that he can't reach it in a move action. When he gets there, I want to grab the car and keep it from getting away. I'll probably have to switch my array to do it. how much Effective Strength does he need? And do I have to roll anything else?
JackgarPrime Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Just heads up that I'll post IC once I work out the catching bit.
trollthumper Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 My apologies. I'd say Effective Strength 30 would catch the speeding taxi.
JackgarPrime Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Then if he switches to Flight 10/SuperStrength 5, that'll bump him up to ES 30 exactly. Would it matter at all if he goes higher?
trollthumper Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 Well, depends on what you're trying to do. If you're trying to grab it and stop it, no. If you're trying to pick it up and hurl it, then yeah, I'd say that affects it.
trollthumper Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 That will most certainly stop it. You can post on bringing the taxi to a stop, and... well, we'll see where it goes from there.
quotemyname Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Having spent extra effort inside Cyberspace will have Fatigued Blueshift's Gadgets. Since they lose 2pp, she can no longer afford a full rank of Gadgets. Therefore they are useless until she has time to repair them (1hr). Using that option is now closed to me. So instead, assuming we're still somewhat in rounds, I'll stand as a move action, and Extra Effort to gain an alternate power off her Boots. Speed 4 / Enhanced Skills 4 now becomes "Wirewalk" Teleport 4 (Extras: Action/Standard [+1]; Flaws: Long Distance Only [-1]; Medium (Wires) [-1]; PF: Easy) {5pp} So, Accrobatics to stand as a free action is an auto pass Extra Effort is a free action Move action to get to a computer Standard action to "wirewalk" Beginning of next round, THAT device will be fatigued as well. Yay for not having HPs left!
trollthumper Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Cannonade is Extra Efforting to get the +2 to his Leaping power that would allow him to cross the Great Bay in one leap (as it's about two miles from Lonely Point to the site of this carnage, and Leaping 10 would ensure he ends up in the Bay). So, in the meantime, if Victory wishes to swoop down on the taxi, he may do so. I'll roll Initiative when I get home and have access to Doc's stats.
