Supercape Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Rene gets painting some heroes Etain, Crow, Mymiridon.
Quinn Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Subtract 1 HP for Crow's stunted multi-port to get there, pleez. :D
Supercape Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 Ok its mystic Mayhem time folks. The ghostly mystic presence of the Hotel, and Rene's art, plus possible other psionic forces equals... The paintings coming alive. ALIVE! Quite how you would like your artistic nemesis to be is up to you. They will be relatively unintelligent, and encapsulate something about your psyche. They are not necessarily hostile, but they might be mischivious, randy, curious, etc. Finally, they will be immune to your own powers! Post your thoughts on how you would like your painting to be...
Aoiroo Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I was sort of thinking they'd be caricatures of how the artist invisions the characters respectively.
Semi-Autogyro Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Yeah. That could be pretty hilarious. For example, Myr could be A Col Klink/Sgt. Shultz expy since Rene mentioned he looked like a good Aryan boy.
Quinn Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 ...it's tough to think of a caricature of Crow without it being somewhat politically insensitive. Any ideas?
Aoiroo Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 It would be a caricature of what Rene sees, and I doubt he sees any politically insensitive things in Crow. I'm thinking Etain might be shown as hilariously dainty or even more to the edge of 'lady like'.
Aoiroo Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Roll Arcane Lore, 16, ohh wait, Etain, doesn't have 15 bonus on Arcane, my bad, umm, different roll than, with ten bonus this time. 24
Quinn Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Arcane Knowledge check - Crow (1d20+6=7) Caricature-wise, given what he's seen thus far...he'd probably be Magic Batman or something. Still, Crow vs. Crow in a boxing match? Sounds fun! :D
Supercape Posted May 1, 2011 Author Posted May 1, 2011 Arcane Knowledge rolls: DC 20: Its magical, something to do with Rene's abilities. DC 25: Its the effect of the house. There are powerful paintings in the Hotel, and paintings contain magic. DC 30: The paintings are a representation of your unconscious. Possibly activated by the psionic hero in your midst...
Semi-Autogyro Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Initiatives Myrmidons' Initiative Roll Total = 21 Painting!Myrmidons' Initiative Roll Total = 4 Attack Rolls Myrmidons' Attack Roll vs. Painting!Myr DC: 16 Total = 17 (Hit!) Notes: Unarmed All Out/Power Attack on Painting!Myr. Defense Reduced by 5, Currently +1. DC increased by +5, Currently DC 21. Versus DC 16. Defense Rolls Painting!Myrmidons' Toughness Save vs. DC 21 Total = 10 (Fail by 10+ = Staggered & Stunned) Way to beat up yourself John!
Quinn Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Initiative Checks! (Crow/Painting Crow) (1d20+7=14, 1d20+7=26) Ok, so Painting Crow goes first, regular Crow right after. Unarmed fist! (1d20+7=23) Welp, that'll hit the real deal. DC 18 Toughness save! (1d20+7=24) Block'd. Aoi, can we see some Inish rolls if Etain and her copy are going to tussle? :D
Aoiroo Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Etain does Paralyze 12 area attack on everybody, DC 22 reflex, if it's made, DC 16 will, if not DC 22 Will.
Quinn Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Crow/Doppel Crow's Reflex rolls! DC 22 Reflex! (1d20+7=9, 1d20+7=13) Both fail. Crow/Doppel Crow's Will rolls! DC 22 Will saves (1d20+5=6, 1d20+5=14) Good lord InvisibleCastle hates me.
Supercape Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 Thanks for all that! I'm only going to peripherally steer this, so carry on as you have - the painting "you"'s are largely under your control (narrative wise) unless you do something totally spaced out!.
Semi-Autogyro Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Myrmidons' Saves Myrmidons' Ref. Save vs DC 22 Paralyze Total = 16 (Fail) Myrmidons' Will Save vs. DC 22 Paralyze Total = 9 (Fail by 10+ = Paralyzed) Painting!Myrmidons Saves Myrmidons' Ref. Save vs DC 22 Paralyze Total = 25 (Nat 20! Success) Notes: I'm a bit rusty on the 2E rules, but doesn't a natural 20 basically means he auto-succeeds against the will effect as well? Regardless, I'll roll his secondary save as well, just in case. Myrmidons' Will Save vs. DC 16 Paralyze Total = 9 (Fail by 5+ = Slowed) Notes: In case it's needed.
Supercape Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 If I remember correctly a natural 20 just means you automatically make the reflex roll (not avoid it alltogether). So, effect goes down to 1/2 rank.
Aoiroo Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Paint!Etain uses nullify mental effects to undo the paralyze, than uses her move action to walk inside so she can go to Parkhurst's indoor pool.
Supercape Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 Nullify needs an opposed power check (and normally attack roll, but versus an unresisting, paralysed target lets waive that!). Pool trip is fine!
Semi-Autogyro Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Attack Rolls Myrmidons' Attack Roll vs. Painting!Myr DC: 16 Total = 20 (Hit!) Notes: Unarmed All Out Attack on Painting!Myr. Defense Reduced by 5, Currently +1. Atk increased by +5. Versus DC 16. Defense Rolls Painting!Myrmidons' Toughness Save vs. DC 16 Total = 16 (Success) Note: Painting!Myr is still Staggered Gauntlets & Greaves: Damage 4 (Power Feats: Mighty) [5PP]
Aoiroo Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Hah, guess the house is going to take care of him as Etain is going to inform the ghosts. SHe's not gonna ask them to attack her doppleganger because her doppleganger could actually hurt the ghosts (Etain has affect insubstaincial, and Myr, doesn't). So, what do you guys think Etain being tired of messing with this and just asking Custos to expell the magical creatures for her?
