cosmicarus Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 Heavy's armour barely makes in through the large hole, scraping the sides as it does so. Using his suits sensors, the darkness before him is as daytime, and Sean can clearly see the vernimous rat man he first saw at the meeting earlier that night - a meeting that seemed to take place years ago, now. It's not a time for reminiscing, however, as now held in the villanous vermin's strong tail is none other that actor Adam Kirk - unconcious and looking only a little worse for wear, despite his adventure. Hearing Heavy's entrance, the rat man turns as he runs - he grows angry when he sees he's being followed, "No! He'ss mine! I foundsst him! Gets your own!" He races off, expertly navigating the sewerage tunnels as Heavy gives chase. Sean's suit makes him much faster than the rodent, but he's in enemy territory, and this enemy knows every nook and cranny of that dark, dank place... ...that is, until he makes a wrong turn. Deep in the sewer, the rat man darts to one side and Sean loses him. For a few frantic moments it seems that the mark may, indeed, be lost - that is until Sean hears the howl. A high pitched screech coming from a passageway to Sean's left. Turning, he sees the rat man again, only this time the giant rodent is running at him, and it seems he's left Adam behind. The rat runs frantically past Heavy, bumping him on the way, "Nooooo! It bitessss - all over it bitesss..." It keeps screaming as it makes it's way down the sewer.

Heridfel Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Reacting quickly, Heavy reaches out, pushing everything in the area that the rat man ran from down with his gravitic powers. He doesn't know what scared the rat man, or what is attacking him now, but he definitely doesn't want to see Kirk attacked by it as well. Even if he wasn't responsible, it'd definitely lower the chances of his getting paid. He rushes through the sewer at nearly 100 miles per hour, heedless of what he is rushing into, or the damage that he does to the walls as he flies. He knows that he's given himself away already by his actions, so he risks shouting out "Mr. Kirk! Can you hear me?"

cosmicarus Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 The scene is eerily quiet - all Icarus can hear is his own echo and the drip, drip, drip of what, hopefully, is merely sewerage. Moving forward, Icars comes into a more open area than the rest of the tunnels he's darted through. He's deep in the bowels of the sewer now - natural light has long since disappeared. There are four exits from this area, one on each wall. The place is dank and dark. To the left of centre, Icarus can see Adam Kirk, lying on the ground, unconscious. His breathing is laboured, Icarus' increased gravity pressing down on the normal bodied human. There is something else in the room, too. Heavy can't exactly pin-point it, but he certainly feels like he's being watched.

Heridfel Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Heavy ensures that he's ready for someone to attack him. The pale grey glow that is his powers' hallmark surrounds him. He releases what he had previously done before - he might not be able to lift Kirk otherwise - and bends down to throw him over his shoulder. He would almost rather the unseen presence attack him now, rather than as he tries to navigate out of the sewer, but from personal experience, he knows that villains are rarely so considerate. He glances up to the ceiling as well. It might be worth trying to make his own exit.

cosmicarus Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 There is definately something in the room with Icarus, though looking around he can't seem to see anything besides the dankness and the darkness. He hears something next to him, however, and turning sees a cockroach struggling to get back onto it's legs after landing on his shoulder. Brushing it off, he sees another three fall, and more on the other side. Looking up, Icarus is surprised to see an incredible swarm of cockraches flowing like water on the ceiling - how could he have missed those? The cockroaches move like liquid and Icarus is sure he hears some say something. What was it? Feed? Though he couldn't place the voice. The cockroaches above follow their brothers downward, smothering Icarus in their forms. Icarus can't be sure, but it seems like they're trying to capture him.

Heridfel Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Heavy bursts through the mass of writhing insects, and he can't help but want to spit up as they try to enclose him. The disturbing part is that they feel like they could. Fortunately, they weren't ready for his strength, and he surges towards the way that he came in. Glancing back, he reaches out again with his gravity. He had thought it might be rats. At least they were sort of large. This bunch of roaches has entirely too much power to be natural.

cosmicarus Posted February 20, 2008 Author Posted February 20, 2008 Under the effect of the gravity, Heavy sees something rather odd. The roaches - instead of being squished outright - seem to spread across the floor, like some kind of smeared putty. They stay together, somehow, as if connected by some unseen force. What is, perhaps, even more disconcerting is that they begin, as one, to move toward him. A chorus of clicks and buzzes fills the sewer and Heavy can't be sure, but from out of the cacophany comes the hungry word, "Pooowweeeerrr..." The roaches are moving slowly, sure, but in that small room they'd be on him soon enough.

Heridfel Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Heavy doesn't waste any time. He remembered stories now about a swarm of roaches that had gained strange powers. Unfortunately, the main thing he remembered from that was "don't light them on fire", though he couldn't remember why. He shakes Kirk slightly to dislodge any roaches that got stuck on him and continues to fly out the way that he thinks he came in. He's working off radar now to keep from running into any dead ends, and when he passes a narrower part of the sewer, he blasts at the ceiling, trying to collapse it behind him. Anything that slows that swarm down is good by him.

cosmicarus Posted February 23, 2008 Author Posted February 23, 2008 Within moments, the pile of rubble is enveloped by the roaches. Heavy is able to slow them down - dodging and with his gravity powers - but they are relentless! They pursue his at every moment in his passage through the sewer, and their flowing, creeping form almost gives the man's radar a heart attack. While focusing on one branch, another will reach out from some previously unseen crevice and reach for him or, as happened on a number of occasions, Heavy found himself in a dead end with the swarm right behind him. The 'creature' obviously knew these sewers as well as Heavy didn't, but luckily the suited up villain was never cornered for long. He managed to keep the thing at bay, but it never gave up it's hunt. Eventually Heavy stumbles upon the passage toward the surface. Speeding toward it, he hears the muffled noises of a man recovering from conciousness on his shoulder. Heavy erupts from the sewer just as he hears a cry of terror from his carried companion. Slung over Heavy's shoulder, all Adam has to look on is the grotesque swarm of cockroaches pouring out of the sewer, consolidating and then reaching up, up and up toward him, and Heavy.

Heridfel Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Heavy doesn't usually like speaking when on the job, but he decides to make an exception in this case. "Look, between me and the giant roach monster, I think you'd rather stick with me. I'm getting you out of here, so stop yelling," Heavy says. He holds up the arm that isn't holding onto Kirk and rockets upward. There isn't much that can stand getting in the way of that, and he's thankful that nothing does try to do so. Whether or not Kirk calms down, he still has a job to do. He just has to hope that he'll get paid at the other end. Lucky for him, he's stronger than any of those other two-bit villains. Might may not make right, but it does make for a good bargaining tactic.

cosmicarus Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 Kirk goes quiet as the swarm of cockroaches disappears with the ground below him. He fidgets on Heavy's shoulder, trying to get more comfortable. While not exactly ok with everything, all in all, he seems to be taking things quite well. "So you're, uh, a superhero? I don't know you - you must be new."
