Her lips are rose pink, her cheeks naturally flush, thick eyelashes with no need for makeup. Power Descriptions: From the first strike of her ability Kristana's powers have always manifested as purple lightning, a trait her mother attributes to Kristana's spiritual happiness and content. While she's been known to give off small colorful sparks in moments of strong emotion the bolts are nothing more than small static shots. History: Amelia Darragh always knew her children would be extraordinary. Not in the way that all children are special but that they would be great leaders of their community. On the day Kristana was born a dream was had by several members of the coven, a beautiful man bathed in a soft purple glow who annointed a small infant with his touch. There was celebration, as there is when all children are born but the dream faded from their memories replaced by the laughing bundle of joy who brightened a community. Amelia and Thomas watched as their small baby blossomed into a beautiful child. Smart, inquisitive, creative and kind they from a young age she'd one day grow up to be a powerful priestess and follow in her parents footsteps. Despite growing up in a major city, there was always nature to be found. Community gardens, long walks through the forest at Central Park with her brothers and coven siblings to catch faeries, play damsel in distress, hide and seek. There was always a multitude of other children to be around and play with. Growing up in a large family of practitioners has its perks, from the moment Kristana could speak she was constantly asking questions, consoling the sad and bringing a spark of happiness to everyone she touched. She excelled at everything she tried and found a few things she loved. Tarla helped Kristana make her first talisman; a ramshackle put together of twigs that the five year old tied together with twine in the shape of the five-pointed star. She chose her oils, blessed it and gave the charm to her mother “To protect you from the dark.†the girl told her mother. Since that day Kristana has always had a nack for making small charm, talismans and other wearable items to protect the wearer from various evils, or to bring good fortune. Coming from a family of practitioners, and being raised in a large and close-knit coven Kristana has always been around people with abilities, tarot card and rune users, palm readers, truly clairvoyant and even a few telepathics are members of her parents coven. Stephen, lit a few candles with his mind at the beginning of puberty but has since had no manifest of power. Kris's own abilities began to manifest around puberty also. It began as a change in her aura according to her mother. A taste of metal in the air her father would call it. It was subtle changes in her attitude, her demeanor, a charge to the air when she would get upset about something. One coven member described her as having an “electric†personality on the day Kris first her power. It was during a ritual celebration and sent half the coven running out of fear, and the other half bowing down and screaming their praise to their gods. It was her “first moonâ€; a day of celebration marking a girls entrance into womanhood and what a change at thirteen it was indeed. Since her ability first surfaced the coven has been an amazing help to Kristana, helping her harness and grow her powers, but also to tame them. Kristana is always aiming to do the most good, to bring good and energy to herself and her family. Someone who's read up on the Darragh family tree might say its to make up for past evils of her ancestors, a few rogue practitioners turned to black magics and dark beliefs. She has worked hard to learn to control her ability, to harness it in new and creative ways, to do more than just hurt. Through tireless ritual mediation she has grown her powers in leaps and bounds, learning first how to call it, then how to change it, and eventually how to ride electrical currents from place to place. On the night of her sixteenth birthday Kristana had a dream. A tall white haired man and a small mouse haired woman sat on the banks of a river calling to her. They told her that she still has much learning to do, that she needs to venture out into the world and grow herself as a woman. The next morning Kristana sat down with the elders of the coven and explained the dream, she told them that she felt compelled to follow their instruction to go out and seek to be more, to do more. Personality & Motivation: Kristana has a strong moral obligation to do what is right, to bring more good to the world and to use her ability to protect innocents and those around her. At the age of 13 she took the nickname Spark and has dreamed of being a full fledged hero ever since. Powers & Tactics: Kristana has never yet had need of her ability in a life or death situation. Complications: Black Sheep Need Herding: Several members of the coven and even Kris's bloodline have gone rogue over the years, becoming dark practitioners and putting a stain on the family's collective “karma.†Electromagnetic Aura: Kristana produces an electromagnetic field when angry and left unchecked it can reset electronics. Anyone who makes physically contact with her at this time is likely to experience a small spark like a carpet static shock. Gotta have Faith: Kristana's electrical powers are directly linked to her spirituality. Strong Family/Community Ties: Kristana and her family are as close as close can be. She's an active member of her parents coven of eclectic witches True of Heart: Kristana believes in justice, in protecting innocents and doing what is morally good and right, a lawful good one might say. Dr Archeville Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I reduced the rank of your Area Blast to 10, because General Area effect (the most common type of Area effect) is limited to your PL (since it does not benefit from attack/defense trade-off). If you want it to be a Targeted Area effect (which does benefit from attack/damage trade-off), you can have that up to rank 12. I'm curious about some of her skill choices. Concentration, the Knowledges, and Notice are fine, but why does she have such a high Bluff and Computers? Nothing in her background indicates her being particularly computer-savvy (or any flavor of techno-paganism in her home), or of being highly skilled in hiding the truth/making others believe what she says. Also, for the record -- and to know how things like Nullify or Drain work -- all her powers are Mystical/Supernatural, not Mutation, yes?
Breella Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 To be honest I pulled the sheet from a pre-made energy controller and made a few tweeks. Yes, her powers are spiritual based, I had thought of going with "god touched" but it seemed kinda corny and a few people shot down that idea, including AA. A new day and a fresh pair of eyes, let me go through the sheet again.
N/A Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I went in and touched up the formatting. Depending on what exactly you mean by "god-touched," it might be a perfectly satisfactory idea. We've already got at least one superhero I can think of off the top of my head, Gabriel, who is technically a mutant, but whose latent mutation was activated by an angel.
