Barnum Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Yes, I think you won't have any problem getting that approved. If you'll just go ahead and update your sheet with those changes, I'll look it over tonight.

Dr Archeville Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 The Electromagnetic Screwdriver basically looks like The Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver. Except less.... copyright infringe-y ;)

Dr Archeville Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 Updates & alterations done. And, since I do plan on his Inventor feat coming into a play a fair deal, I worked up a handy cheat sheet: Craft (chemical, electronics, and mechanical) all +18. (up to +24 with Electromagnetic Screwdriver or at HQ) Knowledge (technology) at +20. (up to +26 with Electromagnetic Screwdriver or at HQ) Quickness 6 (x100; Mental only) Design up to 30pp inventions (if Taking 20, though that takes 20x the time). • Take [-X], Design a 1pp invention -- like a Power Feat -- in 0.01 hours (0.6 minutes, or 36 seconds) • Take 1, Design an 11pp invention in 0.11 hours (6.6 minutes) • Take 10, Design a 20pp invention in 0.2 hours (12 minutes) • Take 20, Design a 30pp invention in 6 hours. • add up to 6 more pp if able to use Electromagnetic Screwdriver or at HQ. Construct up to 28pp inventions (if roll a natural 20 [cannot Take 20]). • 18pp if looking to roll 10 or better (and can Take 10 on the Craft roll). • 9pp at bare minimum (rolling a 1). • add up to 6 more pp if able to use Electromagnetic Screwdriver or at HQ. 4 hours per power point to construct, can halve time by taking -5 on Craft check. Jury Rig/Kit Bash up to 23pp inventions (if rolling a 20 on Craft check). • 13pp if looking to roll 10 or better. • 4pp at bare minimum (rolling a 1). • add up to 6 more pp if able to use Electromagnetic Screwdriver or at HQ. Takes 1 round per pp of the invention.

Heridfel Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Hmm. Since you don't need to do the design step if you're jury-rigging, the net effect of the Quickness means that you effectively don't take any additional time to do the design step unless you're taking 20. The difference between 12 minutes and (at least) 2 hours is great enough to ignore the former in all but the most contrived situations. "No, Dr. Archeville! You have exactly two hours before the city goes kerplooie (to use the scientific term)." Granted, in that situation, you'd probably jury-rig anyway, but there you go. :)

Dr Archeville Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 True, but it's nice to see that he could design something resembling an Iron Man suit in about an hour (a 20pp forearm-mounted blaster gauntlet, 20pp flight belt, 20 pp force field/protection vest/breastplate, 20pp sensor suite helmet, and 20pp super-strength exoframe)*. Or design an Earth-to-Moon teleporter on his lunch break**. You know, in case he's bored * and with the proper equipment construct it in under four weeks! ** and have it built in about five days!
