GranspearZX
A thread for myself (Arcturus) and Aoiroo (Catalyst)! Link to comment
Aoiroo
Catalyst rolls iniative, 30, well umm, Arc physically can't beat that so I'll do the attack roll. Targetted area attack of five feet for Arc, 15, miss I guess, unless he's considered flatfooted. Link to comment
GranspearZX
Initiative time! Gauntlet: Initiative (1d20-4=-1) Arcturus: Initiative (1d20+5=9) Link to comment
Aoiroo
Jasmine goes first. 21. Link to comment
GranspearZX
Awesome. So we're looking at: Jasmine :: 21 [2 HP] Arcturus :: 9 [2 HP] Gauntlet :: -1 Link to comment
Aoiroo
Jasmine covers her eyes and attempts a dazzle, which doesn't work since it's a fortitude attack but she doesn't know it's just an animated piece of armor, so it's Arc's turn. Link to comment
GranspearZX
Arc comes to the rescue, by trying to charge and overrun Gauntlet: Overrun (Trip attempt): (1d20+10=28) Arc's Strength: STR check: (1d20+9=17) Gauntlet's Strength: STR check: (1d20+14=33) (And I forgot his +2 Immovable bonus, which doesn't even matter at this point.) And Arcturus runs headlong into Gauntlet... who doesn't move. He reacts with a trip check of his own: Gauntlet's Strength: STR check: (1d20+14=34) Arc's Acrobatics: There's no point in rolling because he can't beat a 34. HOWEVER... Arc makes use of his Skill Mastery in Acrobatics. So yes, he's knocked down by the reaction, but he's back up as a free action. Gauntlet swings: Attack Roll: (1d20+8=19) And barely misses. Catalyst is up! :D Link to comment
Aoiroo
Jasmine backs away, and away (two move actions so 20 ft), and shoots at guantlet a fire pellot (basic blast attack). 27, which based on his defense + autofire makes it DC 22. Toughness. Link to comment
GranspearZX
Gauntlet's TOU check: (1d20+14=32) The dice really love Gauntlet today. o.o Link to comment
GranspearZX
Apologies for the delay. Back to BIDNESS. *cough* Arc defends (total defense, +4 dodge), Gauntlet attacks: 1d20+7=21 And misses. Catalyst is up! Link to comment
Aoiroo
Let's try a damage shift by 2, (10:47:17) Aoiroo: +2 Damage shifted Roll Against Gauntlet (10:47:23) System: Aoiroo rolls 1d20 and gets 6. Darn, that would only hit if it was regularly shifted, what do you think Gran? Link to comment
GranspearZX
Hm. I think it'll be fine, considering where the story's going. :D Link to comment
Aoiroo
So, if that misses then it's Arc's turn. Link to comment
GranspearZX
(22:05:42) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 16. +11 gives Arcturus a 27 for his attack. Gauntlet rolls for TOU and: (22:12:56) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 14. +14 gives him 28... barely saving him from harm. :/ Gauntlet, of course, retaliates: (22:14:53) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 17. ...leaving Arc to make a TOU save vs DC24: (22:16:14) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 5. And he gets nailed with a metal fist in the face. Ow. HOWEVER... thanks to his Second Chance (TOU checks vs Unarmed attacks), he gets another shot: (22:23:59) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 11. So he still gets nailed in the face. The results aren't AS bad, but bad enough, leaving Arc Bruised rather than knocking him out cold. And since he's in bear form (Sustained duration), DC17 Concentration check: (22:35:45) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 8. And he fails (14), knocking him out of bear form. So that leaves us here: Catalyst: 1 HP Arcturus: 1 HP, Bruised Gauntlet: --- IC post forthcoming. As a side note, can I get some clarification on the Concentration check? The result is the same either way, but was Arc supposed to make a DC17 check (10 + Gauntlet's damage bonus) or DC21 (10 + 11 for Arc's Alt Form rank)? Edit: Clarified. DC21 it is! Link to comment
Aoiroo
Catalyst is gonna not hold back, +5 shifted chemical attack, (23:44:37) System: Aoiroo rolls 1d20 and gets 19. That's 25 total cause it's +6 attack bonuse, PLUS improved critical on blast. So that's a DC 30 toughness save for gauntlet. Link to comment
GranspearZX
(23:25:54) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 7. So, Gauntlet fails his TOU check by which leaves him Bruised and Dazed. Huzzah! Arc's regeneration negates his Bruised status, leaving him free to go after Gauntlet: (23:44:49) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 12. Gauntlet rolls TOU vs DC 24: (23:48:18) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 20. Lucky such and such. Catalyst: 1HP Arcturus: 1HP Gauntlet: Bruised x1, Dazed (no longer dazed at the beginning of Catalyst's turn) Link to comment
Aoiroo
(06:05:24) Aoiroo: Shifted by 2 to damage Snare Roll Hey El (06:05:30) System: Aoiroo rolls 1d20 and gets 18. So that's 27, which with Autofire and shifting is DC 20 reflex for Gauntlet. Link to comment
GranspearZX
(09:36:43) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 8. And Gauntlet fails his REF save, by 12--leaving him Entangled. Arcturus attacks!: (09:38:59) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 11. ...versus a TOU save of 24: (09:45:03) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 20. And Gauntlet lucks out again. (I swear, the dice are just... @.@) Gauntlet tries to use his Strength to break out of the Snare: (10:02:31) System: GranspearZX rolls 1d20 and gets 18. And +14 makes it a DC32 TOU save... so Gauntlet is unentangled, leaving Catalyst up next! Link to comment
Aoiroo
Question, if I shoot a fire round now, can I get a situation bonus cause Catalyst used Insulation Foam to snare him in the first place and there still should be some in the armor. If you haven't read the label, insulation foam is incredibly flamable. Link to comment
GranspearZX
There's definitely some still inside the armor, so yeah, I'd allow it. Link to comment
Aoiroo
So +2 situational then, so fully damage shifted, 7, ouch, natural 1. Burn an HP, 20, better, much better. That's +2 over his defense, so we get a bonus of +1 with autofire, so that's in total DC 28 Toughness against Gauntlets +13 toughness. Link to comment
GranspearZX
1d20+13=26 And he fails. And he's on fire. +1 HP to Catalyst for general badassery! So, I'm going to rule that each combat round, the fire causes him to lose an additional -1 Toughness. Which puts us here: Catalyst: 1HP Arcturus: 1HP Gauntlet: --- :: Bruised x2 Arcturus sees an opening and attacks: 1d20+12=32 Crit Confirmation (1d20+12=13) Well, so much for a crit. BUT! DC24 TOU save for Gauntlet: TOU Save: (1d20+11-3=19) And he takes another bruise, AND he's stunned again, missing his next turn. Catalyst: 1HP Arcturus: 1HP Gauntlet: --- :: Bruised x3, Burning, Stunned Link to comment
Aoiroo
Gran you don't have to roll for crit confirmation. So that should of been DC 29, he should be staggered. Anyway, Catalyst rolls a damage shifted attack, Ahh, natural 1, spend HP for reroll., I got a natural 1 twice, however, add the +10 for the reroll it's 18. So DC 19 blast damage. Link to comment
GranspearZX
In the interest of moving things forward (and the fact that I keep getting horribly confused by combat rules), I think we can go ahead and consider Gauntlet pretty much (well) done. If that's okay with you, of course. Link to comment
