angrydurf
Protectron, Ironclad, and Harrier foil a nefarious plot at Raymond Nuclear Power Plant. Set August 16th Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Protectron has Extended on all visual Senses, so visual Notice checks are at -1 per 100 feet, not per 10 feet. It also has infravision, ultravision, and ultra-hearing. Any of those pick up anything unusual, or help it ID the figures? Note: The infra- and ultravision means it can see through Harrier's Concealment and his Morph! Link to comment
angrydurf
They look to be some kind of robot. You can't make out enough details to know design for sure at this distance but they appear to have lots of shiny brass on them and give off small puffs of smoke. Link to comment
angrydurf
Five Robots will have a shot on Harrier as he comes in range. Attack roll Autofire 1 Lightning projectors (1d20+11=21, 1d20+11=23, 1d20+11=21, 1d20+11=28, 1d20+11=26) So they all hit but none can breach his impervious. But much lightning! One will erect a barrier above them ( create object 8) Looks like some kind of magnetic field suspending debris overhead. Harrier will be able to see at this point that they seem to be operating in squads of six or so and are robotic entities made of an improbably number of whirring gears and springs and a central steam boiler on their backs. They have arcing electricity on each fist that they use to project bolts of electricity or apparently manipulate magnetism. Need initiatives if people are gonna charge in at this point. Not so much if Harrier retreats to regroup with the other heroes/authorities. Link to comment
Raveled
I'll let Archy decide if Protectron's going to charge in; if he does, Clad'll back him up, but otherwise she's going to hang back and chat with the G-men. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Protectron will move to within 100 feet of a Clockbot, and attempt to use its Datalink to access any computers in/on it. Anything? Link to comment
angrydurf
What sense does your datalink use? Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Radio. It also has the Area Extra and Selective PF, and with his Quickness (x5 fr purely mental things) it could potentially check multiple steambots in a round. (It also has the Machine Control PF, but that may not be of any use against these steambots.) Link to comment
angrydurf
they do not have a radio interface (Ie no Radio reception for that to communicate with) Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Harrier is going to go ahead and All-Out Attack while taking 10 with these guys, inflicting a DC 28 Tou save on as many as possible with his Takedown Attack. Link to comment
Raveled
Ironclad's gonna stay at the limits of her range (450 ft) and blast the shield. Standard Action: Blast the junk shield. Ironclad's ranged attack check w/ full All-Out Attack and full Power Attack, vs junk shield. DC 30 (1d20+10=16) Ugh. Hope that hits. Ironclad's Initiative roll. (1d20+5=25) Why can't I get that for an attack roll? Link to comment
angrydurf
Alright Harrier can take down 5 of them in his sweep. and I'll just use the take ten option for the barriers toughness check. that gets it an 18 and failing by twelve so it'll be destroyed. I'll get an IC up after protectron takes an action. Gonna play fast and loose with initiative for now if there are no objections, cus these are just filler mooks. Mostly an excuse why the PD hasn't closed in. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Go ahead and post, Durf, I rarely make IC posts at the beginning of the month until the posts are counted & awards given. (Plus, all Protectron's doing is trying to diplomacize the steambots.) Link to comment
angrydurf
For clarity the Bots are operating in groups of 5-6. Each taking cover behind makeshift barricades and outbuildings guarding the approaches to the main Reactor building. Harrier has already exhibited that he can drop one group a round basically with take down to clear a path so I'm willing to storyline that part. Or alternatively you can all rush up the middle and risk getting pot shots taken at you but get to the building quicker. Pretty much up to harrier as to what he wants to do to kick things off. Feel free to post a few rounds of bot smashing your way to the main reactor if you go with that AA. Link to comment
Raveled
Ironclad is going to Take 20 on a Knowledge/Technology check (she can do that as a free action) to try and recall the power plant's layout. Result of 35. Can she pin-point where the reactor is, and specifically any cooling/ventilation systems that feed into it? Link to comment
angrydurf
There are two reactors housed in the Main Reactor Building. Each has separate cooling apparatus that are basically identical. Pretty standard design with cooling towers the water circulates through and cooling ponds for the spent fuel rods. Water is recycled through the cooling towers and the reactors by pumps with back up generators though usually the plat supplies its own power of course. Any damage to the cooling system could if left unrepaired of course lead to eminent melt down. That would be bad. Though if there plan was to just cause a meltdown they have had ample opportunity to do so With the time they have already been in control of the facility and with the kind of firepower they have exhibited they likely could have fairly irreparably damaged the cooling systems by now. Raveled
Durf, any chance Ironclad could get within 100 ft of a data connection? Anything that goes into the power plant? Link to comment
angrydurf
Certainly. Theres assorted lines in the vicinity that haven't been cut yet with Harriers furious assault cutting short their preparations. Link to comment
Raveled
Ironclad's using Datalink to try to wrest control of internal security away from whoever took control. SM allows 25 Computer checks and Mental Quickness pretty much assures that it's all free actions, too boot. Let me know if you still need me to roll anything. EDIT: So ordered by durf. Ironclad's Computer check. (1d20+15=29) Link to comment
angrydurf
Not quite enough to crack the Plants security system. Rav take an HP and give me a DC 18 Toughness check VS. Electricity Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Harrier is going to 'cover' the door, ready to blast the first enemy who bursts out. Frustrating close to a crit, but 31 That's an All-Out Attack, so his Defense is at 13. His Blast will do DC 27 Damage. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Protectron... waits for Caradoc to fire, then moves in with his Mighty Robot Fists. Link to comment
Raveled
Ironclad's ranged attack check w/ full All-Out Attack and full Power Attack, vs door's Def. DC 30 (1d20+10=25) Oh, yeah. Ironclad's Toughness save, vs DC 18. (1d20+15=23) Easy pass. Link to comment
angrydurf
Doors are destroyified. Harriers covering fire action goes off Toughness save DC 27 (1d20+15=32) Passes Same time the Giant Robots' readied action goes off. Damage 10 (Electro Burst/Electric; Extras: Area: General Burst, Linked: Stun) Stun 10 (Electro Burst/Electric; Extras: Area: General Burst, Linked: Damage; Flaws: Daze) So DC 20 Reflex Save for half damage then DC 25 Toughness and DC 20 Fortitude saves Electricity descriptor. Initiative time! Giant Robot: Initiative! (1d20-2=11) Link to comment
Dr Archeville
(12:31:52) System: Dr_Archeville rolls 1d20 and gets 14. + 5 = 19 on the Reflex save Oh, IC's working again! Protectron's Toughness save, DC 25 (1d20+14=30) w00t Fort Immunity makes it immune to the Stun effect. Protectron's initiative (1d20+5=25) supercharged! Link to comment
