Avenger Assembled Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 September 20-27, 2011The Lab:Torque, Supercape, Gossamer, Ironclad, Dragonfly, and Protectron solve the problem at its source
Raveled Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Just to review from what I remember in the planning thread: Supercape is going to teleport everyone onto (into) the Gorgon, then they're going to use a Lab-built stealth (Concealment) generator to avoid most of the Gorgon's defenses. And sometime before the thread, someone's going to need to make Goss a spacesuit. The space suit for Gossamer will be 12 pts; the Design and Inventor checks will both be DC 22. Device 3 (15 pts; Hard to Lose) [12PP] (Space Suit) [device]Immunity 9 (Life Support) [9PP] Communications 3 ( 1000 ft) [4PP] Flight 1 (10 MPH) [2PP] The stealth field generator will be 21 pts; the Design and Inventor checks will both be DC 31. Concealment 10 (All senses; Flaws: Blending, Passive; Extras: Affects Others (+1), Area/Burst; Feat: Selective) [21PP] The space suit would probably be a cakewalk for either Ironclad or Dragonfly, but the stealth generator's a toughie. Any ideas?
Fox Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Per chat, Dragonfly'll go ahead and spend an HP to have the concealment generator on-hand, the assumption being that she's been working on it since the Gorgon thing originally came up. DC31's well within her means, anyway, since she's guaranteed to make that with a little time and, at most, two HP; one, if she spends a little extra time on her mental-quickness-enhanced design phase.
Raveled Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 So Clad'll handle the space suit. And she literally can't fail it, what with SM and mental Quickness.
Dr Archeville Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I figure Protectron's been helping out whoever/wherever it can, as all good help-bots should.
Avenger Assembled Posted September 4, 2011 Author Posted September 4, 2011 All right, I want to give Torque a chance to weigh in, though I know Cy has been very busy. For the moment, why don't you guys all post what you're doing (with any skill rolls that seem relevant), and then I'll take you up into space?
JackgarPrime Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 You forgot somebody! Although, if it fits, of course, I'd expect Victory to have his own ride/meet them up there.
Avenger Assembled Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 Anybody with Comprehend all Languages? If not, it's a DC 25 Technology check to translate if you happen to speak Lor or Grue.
Avenger Assembled Posted September 18, 2011 Author Posted September 18, 2011 Testing, testing one two?
Fox Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Ah, sorry - Dragonfly could easily make the check, but she doesn't have the comprehension.
JackgarPrime Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Sorry, no alien languages here, either.
Dr Archeville Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Protectron actually does have Comprehend!
Avenger Assembled Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Protectron's keen robot senses are able to hear a great many things from inside the Gorgon's head, a great melange of voices speaking a strange dialect full of argot that on closer inspection is a strange pidgen of Lor, Grue, the various galactic trade languages, all mashed together into one language like nothing Protectron had ever heard of before! It's a decidedly odd linguistic outlier: A sampling: And remember the Mother who keeps every day holy. Good night, untranslatable listeners! ...concerned that the fungal harvest isn't going to hit quota _again_ this year; that gamma-ray burst really did a number on our production... Now remember, the Fallen Ones do have space travel on this planet, so make sure you're heavily armed: if they come here hostile instead of as pilgrims, we need to be... Maglev 7 now approaching Inner Core, preparing to stop at Station untranslatable... "Will L'ook put aside the Meta-Mind and embrace L'ura and the Mother's collective? Or will L'ura have to defend its younglings from the Fallen outsider? Find out tonight on Young Xenos In Love..."
Fox Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Just a quick note for Jack - Victory, not having one of the stealth suits of the others They don't really have stealth suits as such. Dragonfly whipped up a selective Concealment field, and she's using it. There's some fluff about people having bracers that make it easier for her suit to track and conceal them, but that was mostly for AA's benefit so he can strip people of concealment if he wants the plot to go that way. Victory's as concealed as anybody else, unless he asks Dragonfly to not conceal him or goes somewhere/does something that keeps her from exercising the selective feat on the power.
JackgarPrime Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Oh, my mistake. What would be a good way to edit that, then? Just remove that bit completely? I will say that, as the most stand-outish member of the group in terms of the attention he can attract and the noise he can make, Victory is ready to run decoy should the need come up.
Avenger Assembled Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 So is that the plan you're going with, guys?
Raveled Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Ironclad has no reason to vote against an ArchTech satellite. The only real plan she has a problem with is taking it back to Earth.
JackgarPrime Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Victory would've ended up proposing it if Supercape hadn't, so that's another vote.
Fox Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Mara'd be okay with it. She really dislikes Archeville now, but she has to admit his science is top-notch, so any installation he had should be quality.
Dr Archeville Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Protectron thinks it's a logical choice. I figured that as part of Archeville's amends-making/rehab, he'd tell the League about Nichtuberall, and they in turn would have it mothballed/cordoned off. Power's barely at a trickle, just enough to keep the beacons that'd alert the League of any tampering active (and perhaps a few sensors, say, ones that alerted them of when the Gorgon was nearing), though the brainiacs here should have little problem getting it back up to full power.
Avenger Assembled Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 Did you want to handle describing the interior, Doc?
