Tiffany Korta Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Well now she’d been compared to both sides. “Isn’t there some kind of law against being compared to the servant of a higher power even the adversary?†Whilst there attacks didn’t seem to have much effect she didn’t really want them to get past her and try to gain some retribution of the Bishop. So drawing on all her strength she swung the door she still held with all her might sending the surpised (or she hoped) inquisitor scattered to the four wind. She tensed ready from another attack, but they seemed not to be moving. Which was good as the attack had drained her quite substantially. “You colleagues as down and you are blinded it you surrender now I promise you that you will come to no harm.†She didn’t know how long the blinding would last, and she didn’t want the men in their grief and anger to harm a blinded man.
Supercape Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 GM "Stand firm! The Inquisition shall never be blinded from Truth!" retorted one of the men, shooting a crossbow bolt wildly. "We shall fight with every divine breath of our body!" retorted the other, swinging a particularly nasty looking club, all metal shod and spikes, this way and that. "The Inquisition aren't known for their capacity to acquiesce, my angel!" whispered Innocente in Young Brittania's ear. "Or indeed their sanity..." added Trowell, tapping the unconscious body of one of them. Tapping a little bit to hard for strictly investigative purposes. A tap that blended into a kick.
Tiffany Korta Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 She looked at Mr Trowell despairingly. “Oi! Can we stop with excessive violence?†She spent the door flying with some force hitting the blinded Inquisitor on the head knocking his off his feet. “After all I fought you were some kind of Gentleman. You know not hitting someone when there down. Queensbury rules and all that.†With unnatural speed she flew behind the final man, putting into a sleeper hold. “A lady like myself would never resort to such lowly tactics.†She dropped the unconscious man to the floor.
Supercape Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 GM "Bravo" said Mr. Trowell, clapping his hands and stepping over two unconscious men "I could put make you a star! that was incredible!" "And what about my dear Ms. Wheatley?" asked the fretful Innocente "is she here? Ms. Wheatley! Ms. Wheatley!" he called out. "I'm here!" came a muffled shout. A banging appeared from a stout wooden panel at the end of the room "get me out! get me out!" came the yell - a woman's voice, and by the looks of Innocente and Trowell, one that they both recognised. "Ms. Wheatley!" they said in unison, rushing over to the panel and trying to find some catch or knob that would slide open the secret door.
Tiffany Korta Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Agnes gave a little sigh of relief; she had assumed the worse for the young woman. Know all she had to do is get the woman out and she could go home. Well maybe another pint first… “Please gentlemen if you could stand back.†She pushed them gently aside Without resorting to any kind of trickery of cunning, if had been a long couple of days, she crashed through the panel into the room they were holding Ms Wheatley. Almost instinctively she shifted back into her normal form, before coming face to face with her double, in the traditions of all good (and some bad) body double shows.
Supercape Posted January 24, 2012 Author Posted January 24, 2012 (GM) Ms. Wheatley was not an exact double, but one could certainly see the similarities. With Ms. Redpowder's expertise, and the power of suggestion under the limelight of the music hall, the effect would be complete. "Thank goodness that's over with. I thought they were going to crucify me!" she proclaimed with typical upper class aristocratic defiance. Her voice was soothing and melodic. She was, indeed, a charming lady. "Enough of you two" she dismissed the fawning of Innocente and the concern of Trowell "not another word until some tea has passed these lips" Tea was not hard to find. Even in the docks, a suitable public house could be located for the staple beverage. When suitably refreshed, the story came tumbling out. Innocente had become infatuated with Ms. Wheatley, and was spilling the beans on the Vatican. Largely political information, nothing serious, but enough for the dreaded Vatican to take note, and kidnap Ms. Wheatley, right on English soil! The Inquisition had planned to use her as leverage back on Innocente, to consolidate there own power...as well as stopping any further leaks to the British Empire. Innocente was a powerful, influential man, and having a bishop at the Vaticans beck and call was most attractive to the organisation.
Tiffany Korta Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Agnes was trying to follow Ada explanation of the plot to use the Bishops Amor to destabilize the region or upset the balance or something but her mind kept wondering to other things. First it was hard to keep up with the whole political situation, it was a little like reading about conflicts in far off lands it just didn’t seem in some way real. But mostly she kept looking at Ada. She could see that they weren’t exactly twin, this wasn’t some Star Trek like parallel world, but they were close enough to give her pause. She wanted to know about this woman, not the rose tinted version of those two love sick puppies. The tea seemed almost over so she took the initiative. “Excuse me gentlemen but I need a private word with Ms Wheatley. If you could escort the Bishop to the safely of the authorities Mr Trowell I will meet you there shortly.†Once she was sure that the two were alone she turned to Ms Wheatly. “Before we discuss any more matter of state do my mind if I ask a little about your past?â€
Supercape Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 GM "I guess you already have" said Ms. Wheatley, with a mixture of charm, wit, eloquence and a trace of sarcasm. Her mouth was all smiles however. "A woman's mystique, especially a woman of my profession, does require a little bit of...obscuring...when it comes to the past" she started, settling herself down and smoothing the creases on her dress. "I presume M sent you, the little cuddly man. What an adorable creature. Well, you know I work for him, have for several years. On and off, and I am never quite sure how official my connections are. Still, its exciting, dramatic, and you get to meet all sorts of interesting people. Like yourself" she added politely. "And of course I get all sorts of interesting men at my door" she said, wistfully "and even a far few marriage proposals. I am sure the dear Innocente would marry me, despite his theological obligations!"
Tiffany Korta Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Agnes had to bite down a sarcastic response she wasn’t sure why, no she knew exactly why. She had seen scores of women like her that got success through their natural talents. She felt tired and not a little homesick. “I was going to say you don’t realise how much power you have. But you do don’t you? People are willing to die for their little Nightingale, and what do you do with that power?†she kept everything calm and gave a little sigh “I wish you could see where I come from. It’s not perfect but there are people who are trying to make things better for everyone. And one of those people just saved your life.â€
Supercape Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 GM Ms. Wheatley smiled, although it was fainter than before. "Power is a subtle thing, my dear. Just when you have it..." she snapped her fingers daintily "...you realise you have none at all. Its like a drug, you need more and more. And its never enough, is it?" "I try to understand the subtleties of Power. The small things. One stone can move a river, my dear. But should one move the river? or drop the stone? What is right, what is wrong?" She chuckled. "But I sound like a French Intellectual. My, they are charming, the French Intellectuals, are they not? My dear, all I can do is entertain myself, and dear sweet M knows that I do it for King and Country, of course..." And with that, Ms. Wheatley graciously allowed herself to be escorted dockside, to the thunderous applause and wolf-whistles of the dock workers. "Safe and sound then" mumbled Simon Trowell "I suppose she will make a small fortune, and garnish plenty of fame from this. Won't do the Inquisition much favour in the popularity stakes..." "Indeed not", interjected M, who had bustled his way to their side through the crowd, accompanied by two burly agents. "I will have to ensure that Innocente's role is kept strictly out of the public eye. We could do with some leverage from him" he commented, before turning to Young Brittania. "And how are you my dear? Good show, in more ways than one, I hear" he said, his lip curling at one end.
Tiffany Korta Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Agnes wanted to be angry at the woman, but she could see that behind the curtain there was more going on than just a vapid trollop. And she knew exactly how it felt to lose power, now she hopefully had the ability to regain a little power again. "And how are you my dear? Good show, in more ways than one, I hear" he said, his lip curling at one end. “You know what Bernard, actually I’m pretty good. But I think I’m ready to go home. No offense but I think all this is pretty screwed up.†She tucked her arm around M. “Let’s go sort out getting me home, before I start to regret helping this crazy world out.â€
