Veiled Malice Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 The man managed to stumble to the side just before the marbles flew through the space he'd occupied a moment earlier, but was unable to fire before Raven smashed into him. However, the man was substantially more durable than he seemed, as he shrugged the hit off. He snarled, trying to bring his gun to bear on the new threat.
Thevshi Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Not particularly pleased at her initial attack missing, Velocity sped out from behind the cover of the boxes and towards the leader of the men. The others seemed to still be dazed from Raven’s flashbang, so they were not a threat at the moment. As she sped by the man, her fist shot out at him. She then sped by and continued around to the other side of the warehouse, finishing facing back towards all the goons in the center.

Veiled Malice Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 Whether through plain old bad luck, or the specific clustering of blindly stumbling men, Velocity missed the leader again. This time, he was taking no chances with Raven and leveled a blast at her, but missed the rapidly-dodging woman. She kicked him in return, and this hit made an impact, making the man stagger backwards under the force of the blow. He seemed to be trying to shake off the impact. Unfortunately, three of the other men shook off the flashbang's effects, and began hunting for targets of their own.

Thevshi Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Velocity was really starting to get annoyed at missing the leader of the dark suited men, but as she saw Raven seeming to handle him, and saw some of the other men starting to recover from the flashbang, she shifted her focus towards them. Rushing towards one of the men, her fist shot out at superspeed at his jaw.

Veiled Malice Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 This time, Velocity struck true. The man pinwheeled through the air as the yellow blur barreled through not only him, but the man next to him. Both careened past their comrades, clearly out of the fight. Raven abandoned her duel with the stunned leader of the MiBs to assist Velocity with the other men. Her first punch nailed her target, but amazingly, it only knocked the man back a few steps, leaving him capable of opening fire on Raven. Fortunately, the shot went wide as the woman agiliy ducked under the blast. The last MiB finally shrugged off the effects of the flashbang, and seeing that he was in real trouble with two superheroes beating on people, tried to stagger back to the hole in the floor. It appeared that Robert had already done so, as he was no longer present.

Thevshi Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 “Looks like they are trying to bolt.†Velocity called out to Raven as she ran over towards the man heading towards the hole, her fist swinging out at him in a blur of motion.

Veiled Malice Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Due to her ridiculous speed, Velocity's warning to Raven only reached the woman after her clothesline had rendered the concern moot. The man sagged to the ground bonelessly once Velocity's punch connected cleanly with his jaw. Of course, that meant that the rest of the journey down the stairs was a bumpy ride, marked by sounds of thumpthumpthumpthump *Clung*. The dull metallic noise must have been his head meeting the floor at the bottom of the stairs. The leader MiB shook off the effects of Raven's blow and took in the scene instantly. He was no fool. His situation here was untenable and he knew it. He took off like a shot, down the same stairway his minion had just thudded his way over, and out of sight before anyone could stop him. "Damn! Get that one! I'll handle this guy!" Raven shouted at Velocity. Her fist struck out again, catching the man in the jaw. This time, the man felt the effects, and sagged to the ground, out of the fight. Raven was just about to relax when the door at the end of the warehouse slammed open, revealing several more dark-suited men, all carrying the same weapons their unconscious comrades were. She set her jaw, and said, "You get down there and get him. I'll hold these guys off." She took several boomerangs off her belt and prepared to head into battle. If Velocity argues, Raven will say, "Just go! I can handle them, but you're the only one who can catch the leader!"

Thevshi Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Velocity did not hesitate when Raven told her to get after the other man. The speedster was rather sure that the dark dressed heroine could handle the men that had just arrived, though she could probably take them all out faster with a sonic boom. She ran over and down the stairway, after the leader.

Veiled Malice Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Velocity sped down the stairs and across the hallway beyond. The walls down here were made of wrought steel, with pipes crisscrossing them. There was barely enough room to stand up fully, and the iridescent bulbs lighting the way weren't helping. Heat belching out liberally from whatever filled some of the pipes completed the trifecta of uncomfortable sensations as the humidity caused her to break out in a sweat almost immediately. A door stood open at the end of the hallway, looking more like a bulkhead hatch than something one might find in a warehouse. A dull, repetitive thumping sound came from beyond the open portal, like something metal colliding with another surface. Velocity could hear servos whine as she got closer, in the same cyclical fashion as the thumps. Lights cast casting the shadow a cylindrical shape across the floor in the next room. It appeared to be stuck in some way. Velocity poked her head into the next room, pushing the hatch beside slightly so she could get by. It was some sort of prep room, with racks of chemicals and surgical implements lining one wall. A lone steel operating table stood in the center. The overhead lamp was canted slightly to the side, creating the shadows on the floor. But the strangest thing in the room by far was a cylindrical pod, held off the floor by metallic arms connected to the ceiling. It kept running into a supply dolly that had been trapped against the operating table, creating an endless loop of *thump-click-click-click-thump* as it attempted to continue along the ceiling track it was on. The only thing that was better about this room than the hallway was the fact that it seemed to be climate controlled; it was cooler in here. The cylinder was facing away from her, but from her position by the entrance, she could see that the glass door to the pod was ajar. What, if anything, was inside, she couldn't guess. There was one more hatch in the room, but it was closed. A steady red sign above the locked portal clearly read "Sealed".

Thevshi Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Velocity did not like the looks of this lab or operating room, or whatever the heck it was. In a flash, she made a quick cruise through the room, so she could see the areas she could not, before finishing back where she started.

Veiled Malice Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 Before she could complete the curcut, however, the leader MiB lurched out of the space behind the steel hatch and nailed her in the side of the head with a fire hydrant. Velocity tripped and staggered to the ground from the force of the blow. "You couldn't leave it alone, could you?" The man growled out, approaching her slumped-over form.

Thevshi Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Velocity quickly reoriented herself as her head snapped back over at the lead goon. “Not on your life.†She snapped back. Then, in a flash, she was back on her feet and over next to him, her fist shooting out at high speed, a *crack* ringing out as it broke the sound barrier.

Veiled Malice Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 Her fist collided with the man's face, throwing him back against the wall stacked with medical supplies. The entire rack fell over, completely covering him in loose gauze, specimen jars, and other things that Velocity chose not to identify. Stillness filled the room again, shattered only by the rhythmic *thump-click-click-click-thump* of the pod at it attempted to complete it's journey. Now that she was in a position to check out the inside of the container, she saw that it was empty. But It was obviously meant to hold a human body, judging from all the life support gear she could see inside. What it was doing there, and what this room was for... well, she could only guess. However, since the hatch on the opposite wall was still sealed, she'd have to get through it if she wanted to see what all this was about.
