Okay, Orion's Defense is a DC25, so that's a +3 on top of the DC28, bringing it to DC31. Orion's Daze refreshes, and he is now Staggered.

Orion: 27, Bruised x3, Dazed (Papercut's Action), Staggered, 0 HP

Citizen: 21, Unharmed, 1 HP

Sage: 20, Unharmed, 6 HP

Cobalt Templar: 16, Unharmed, 3 HP

Papercut: 13, Bruised x1, 4 HP

Devil Ray: 12, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP

Bastion: 11, Bruised x2, Dazed (Cobalt Templar's Action), 0 HP

Wraith: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP

Ghost Girl: 6, Unharmed, 4 HP

It's Devil Ray's action, and he's not happy. His spellcaster partner is out cold, his only other team mate doesn't seem able to prioritize for crap, and there's a giant monster looking right at him. His plan is simple - GTFO. As he's Staggered, he can only take one Move action, but he has Flight 4, so that action will take him 1000 feet. Folks can feel free to catch up with him if they can move that fast. However, I'll assume that if no one gives chase, he'll be out of combat come the end of the next round.

So that makes it Bastion's turn. He's Dazed, so screw him. Wraith is up next.

Unless there are objections, I think I may just have Wraith climb Bastion. Dude's 32 feet tall (or more!), so she figures it's not a bad way to get up there. Plus, face-punchans.

Move Action Shapeshift

Super-Movement 2 (Wall-Crawling 2) [4PP]

Strike 5 (Feats: Mighty) [6PP]

[4 + 6 = 10/10PP]

Move Action Climb! If he's ~32 feet tall, a standard move should do it.

SURGE: Standard Action Face-punch!

Melee Attack Roll vs. Bastion's Face (Power Attack -2/+2) (1d20 + 10 - 2=12)

Really? Really, IC? Shouldn't have power attacked.

Wraith hasn't accomplished a whole lot in combat threads lately, so I'm gonna re-roll that. At a minimum result of 11 (roll) + 10 (bonus) - 2 (power attack) = 19, she's not capable of missing. DC27 toughness for Bastion's face.

Wraith's down 1 HP, and will be Fatigued at the start of her next turn (unless I spend another HP to, y'know, not be).

He takes another Bruise, and his Daze refreshes.

Papercut: 13, Bruised x1, 4 HP

Devil Ray: 12, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP

Bastion: 11, Bruised x3, Dazed (Wraith's Action), 0 HP

Wraith: 8, Unharmed, 2 HP

Ghost Girl: 6, Unharmed, 4 HP

Ghost Girl is up next.

Ghost Girl

Hero Point: Power Stunt

Snare 10 (Extras: Affects Corporeal, Area [General, Cone], Flaws: Action [Full Action]), Range [Touch]) [20PP] (ice breath)
Full Action: Ice Breath! Obviously. DC 20 Reflex save for Bastion.

And he is Snared! Well, Entangled.

Orion: 27, Bruised x3, Dazed (Papercut's Action), Staggered, 0 HP

Citizen: 21, Unharmed, 1 HP

Sage: 20, Unharmed, 6 HP

Cobalt Templar: 16, Unharmed, 3 HP

Papercut: 13, Bruised x1, 4 HP

Devil Ray: 12, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP

Bastion: 11, Bruised x3, Dazed (Wraith's Action), 0 HP

Wraith: 8, Unharmed, 2 HP

Ghost Girl: 6, Unharmed, 3 HP

Top of the round. Orion is still Dazed, so it's Citizen's turn.

Citizen knows he doesn't pack enough of a punch in the real world to take out Bastion, so he's going to concentrate on Orion so Papercut (with his very different powers) can shore up the building. I'm assuming Orion's body armor doesn't count as a target for his Possession, so instead Sharl's going to continue with the punching.

I believe a 26 hits

DC 28 Tou save for Orion, with the Power Attack.

Sharl will surge (and spend his last HP to cancel fatigue)

Yeah. DC 23 Tou save from the results of his first punch

And Orion goes down on the first blow, so I'll let Citizen keep that last HP as there's no need to get a second punch in.

Citizen: 21, Unharmed, 1 HP

Sage: 20, Unharmed, 6 HP

Cobalt Templar: 16, Unharmed, 3 HP

Papercut: 13, Bruised x1, 4 HP

Bastion: 11, Bruised x3, Dazed (Wraith's Action), 0 HP

Wraith: 8, Unharmed, 2 HP

Ghost Girl: 6, Unharmed, 3 HP

Sage is up next.

And he makes the Will save.

As this dude's still swinging, and I've taken to understand we're nowhere near the end of the thread, I'm going to go all-out in trying to take down the giant tentacle monster.

He should be next to the monster, so no need for a Move Action

Free Action: Spend an HP to avoid Fatigue from my Surge.

Free Action:

All-Out-Attack 5: Attack 16, Defense 1

Power Attack 5: Attack 11, DC 31

Standard Action: Strike the Bastion-thulu!

19 hits. DC 31 Toughness Save.

Free Action: Surge! Get another Standard Action!

Standard Action: More Lightning-fire punches!

13 misses though. But you know what?

Hero Point Reroll: 29 definitely hits. DC 31 Toughness Save.

Current HP count: 1. After next round, will likely be 0. 8-)

In the interest of not drinking and power stunting, and to keep the fight moving, I'm going to use the crane blast one more time, this time sending the bloody and battered crane swarm towards Bastion. He gets a 21. Apparently that hits, so it's a DC 23 + Autofire toughness save, which should do approximately bupkis.

Posted

Okay, that will hit. I haven't been keeping track on the Entanglement - my bad - but that means his Defense is effectively 14 at this point in time. Which means the attack hits for +3 on Autofire, so that's a DC26 Toughness. Bastion takes yet another Bruise.

Citizen: 21, Unharmed, 1 HP

Sage: 20, Unharmed, 6 HP

Cobalt Templar: 16, Unharmed, 1 HP

Papercut: 13, Bruised x1, 4 HP

Devil Ray: 12, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP

Bastion: 11, Bruised x6, Dazed (CT's Action), Entangled, 0 HP

Wraith: 8, Unharmed, 2 HP

Ghost Girl: 6, Unharmed, 3 HP

Okay, Devil Ray is still running away like someone lit his ass on fire, and Bastion is still Dazed. But Bastion manages to throw off his Daze and surge forth, attempting to lash out at Cobalt Templar! Everyone take a Hero Point for this turn of events!

Well, that was a bit of waste of a horrific surge of might.

Citizen: 21, Unharmed, 2 HP

Sage: 20, Unharmed, 7 HP

Cobalt Templar: 16, Unharmed, 2 HP

Papercut: 13, Bruised x1, 5 HP

Devil Ray: 12, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP

Bastion: 11, Bruised x6, Entangled, 0 HP

Wraith: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP

Ghost Girl: 6, Unharmed, 4 HP

Wraith is up next.

Wraith spends an HP to waive her fatigue from her previous turn.

Face-punching!

Melee Attack Roll vs. Bastion (face-punchan; Power Attack -2/+2, All-Out Attack +2/-2) (1d20 + 10 - 2 + 2=27)

More! More face-punching!

Melee Attack Roll (SURGE) vs. Bastion (face-punchan; Power Attack -2/+2, All-Out Attack +2/-2) (1d20 + 10 - 2 + 2=22)

That's two DC27 Toughness saves for Bastion. Wraith is down 2 defense until her next turn, 1HP (from waiving the previous fatigue), will be fatigued at the start of her next turn unless she spends a hero point there too. I'll wait on the IC post until Electra gets hers in.

Here's what CT gets:

Between 1876 and 1929, there were a series of mysterious lights seen in the skies over Dunwich, Massachusetts. They were a much-discussed folk phenomenon, but seemed to vanish suddenly in 1929 - after an incident where a farm house mysteriously exploded, local livestock vanished, and two farming families were slaughtered by encroaching coyotes. Kid Cthulhu has discussed in the past how this incident might have been tied to a servant of the Unspeakable One. Still, this happened in Massachusetts, not New Hampshire, and seemed to begin long after Dunwich Prep was an established institution.
