Ari Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 A Diplomacy check please Paragon, to see if James' words sway the energy being, opposed by its Will Save.
Ari Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 ...I was positive they were opposed by Sense Motive, but now I look they aren't, my apologies.
Paragon Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 1d20+1 = 9 I have a feeling My words will not be very moving.
Ari Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 Sadly that is the case, your words do not sway the creature.
Paragon Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 If my words wont sway the creature then MY FISTS ...oh um that's right I'm tied down. well I guess were boned.
Ari Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 Eh, plenty of other tacks to try; like asking it to turn off the security system, interrogating it about its history origin, not many topics closed at the moment. And if he could get Ironclad and Supercape there to back up his words that would most likely be rather more effective in changing the creature's mind.
Supercape Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 On that subject, where / how are Ironclad and SC doing?
Raveled Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Ironclad is rubbing her head and thinking that the Preservers are big, fat, cheaters. :P
Ari Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 Currently they are still in the hall that is being flooded with Terminus energy. It's far weaker than the normal kind but still highly corrosive, and unless they make some kind of force-field/block the outlets/do something else to stop it, they will need to pass a DC18 TOU check after each action they take. Also you could try talking with The Complex Computer. That might help. Maybe.
Supercape Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Ok Supercape will use extra effort (thus fatiguing himself) to stunt the following off his forcefield array. Forcefield 2 (Extras: Impervious, Affects Others, Flaws: Duration [Concentration], Distracting) [10 PP] So he needs to take a standard action each round to maintain the field, but it will at least protect him and Ironclad reliably from the energy. He can maintain it as a movement action if he makes a concentration check at DC 20. Which, with a bonus of +20, he almost certainly can barring a "1". Hope thats ok. I appreciate it technically puts IC over caps, but I would imagine that could be fluffed as just providing impervious 10 to her.
Raveled Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Ironclad will be messing about with the computer. Auto check of 25 for Computers.
Ari Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 With the help of the translator, she quickly finds the 'off' switch for the security on that level. Flipping it is child's play after that.
Supercape Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Not sure what is in the way to the centre, but if, as Rav says, there is is some Terminus Energy field blocking it, will stunt (for an HP as fatigued already) another Power: Nullify 12 (Energy Drain 2PP/Rank) Extras: Perception, Duration: Sustained for 5PP/Rank at 60PP. Add in subtle 2 and inditect 1 just because they fit with his other powers. Now the difficulty would be using that whilst maintaining a concentration duration effect (his impervious forcefield). So in this case, he will have to maintain it as a move action, by making a concentration roll: 1d20+20=38 which he does with ease!
Raveled Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Ironclad will stunt the following off her Weapon Array. Drain Toughness 12 (Feat: Slow Fade 2 [1 min], Extra: Affects Objects [+0]) (Cutting Torch) She'll be Power Attacking, so it's effectively Rank 17.
Ari Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 +10 TOU bonus, due to advanced age and all. An Injury.
Raveled Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Ironclad's going to keep cutting the thing. Another Rank 17 Drain Toughness.
Ari Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 So yeah, just realized "Hey! It's a *************************************ing Drain TOU power, and thus likely not opposed by a TOU save" as it has no FORT to save with, Ironclad disintegrates the thing's TOU score, which turns it to a pile of dust.
Ari Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 It's a vast, silvery and spherical room lined with rotating green pools, filled with what look like lava. They connect to a network of glowing blue tubes that festoon the interior and block the majority of the room from view. The same substance the pools are filled with travels through these tubes. On Ironclad's left is a great conglomerate of rough-hewn metal levers and several cranks that clash terribly with the aesthetic of the rest of the room, which are pulling the doors back into their recesses by main force. The room is made up of seemingly arbitraily-large blocks, with only a few panels visible behind the tangle of tubes suggesting anything more to it than a pile of metal. The light from the tubes is overshadowed by an ambient light with no observable source. A tube arcs over the door, with a vaguely saurian creature with two heads oozing out of it and into another, working the levers and other apparatus. It gives off a great deal of heat, enough to make the air shimmer around it.
Raveled Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Going to be invoking Ironclad's Obsession Complication to stare at the pretty portal and drool over it a bit. Throwing the Sense Motive roll in favor of a HP.
Paragon Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 well I actually have a decent sense motive so 1 d 20 + 8 = 25!
Ari Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 Paragon: He's lying through his teeth about his being placed there by the Preservers, and everything that has happened so far has proceeded more or less as he's planned. He's gotten a little nervous though, and is stalling for time so he can complete something. He doesn't seem to be lying about the fate of the Lor scouts. Supercape and Ironclad: The strange creature is far too polite and earnest to be up to anything, it seems like this is an honest mistake on its(and the Preservers') part.
