Eviscerus Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Actually, that's not a bad point, it was so that they couldn't just automatically revert back, but once outed, I don't see why it would matter what it morphed itself into. So I think I'll use an Area Burst Nullify instead, so as to avoid the hassle of an attack roll, it would look rather silly if I missed!
Airon Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 about the Nullify: 1) a standard Ranged Nullify will require a attack roll, but you can apply trade-offs, so you can get up to Nullify 9, 11 with the Power Attack maneuver. 2) an General Area Burst will allow Ewoma a Ref save DC 17 to reduce its effect, and it will be capped at your PL (7); or you can use a Targeted Area, which allows trade-offs, but that's the same as option 1 if you have only one target. 3) a Perception Nullify will hit no matter what, but it will be capped at PL 7. Since Nullify works on an opposed power checks, you may want to benefit from the trade-offs - expecially if you catch her flat-footed; it's your choice. This really isn't metagame, since you don't know anything about her, it's just knowledge of the rules. Now, the IC text can remain the same (or you can modify it to your taste), just write here the option you choose, your Power check (1d20 + Nullify rank) and (if you choose option 1) your attack roll.
Eviscerus Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 alright, let's do the target area burst then, with power attack Attack roll: 17 Power check 15 Complete suckage (sigh)
Airon Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Ewoma opposed power check 1d20+6 → [13,6] = (19) on a brighter side, this is very unlucky, so it grants Leviathan an HP for the setback. IC post coming right up.
Eviscerus Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 well I'll be using that HP to shake off exhaustion! Yay! :D
Eviscerus Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 If you need some sort of diplomacy check for that last statement it's only a 10 prolly should invest in that skill huh?
Airon Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 I love that Supercape is so used to be a GM that labels his posts GM even when he's playing Diplomacy may have worked, but that roll is too low, Eviscerus, sorry. It didn't make things worse, at least. Leviathan can read the following spoiler, the others need a Notice check DC 1d20+8 → [8,8] = (16) bleah... DC 16 While gesticulating, Ewoma dropped something in Leviathan's pocket.
Supercape Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I love that Supercape is so used to be a GM that labels his posts GM even when he's playing :headasplode: Bad habit... Anyway... 1d20+15=19 Actually I dont think he could have failed...
Supercape Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Is it Ok to go to Steam Manor at this point?
Airon Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 I was waiting for possible reactions, alternatives and/or last posts from the other 2 players; once we get their ok, yes, we move there. Also, nice title-dropping. ;)
Tiffany Korta Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I think I'm going to have a rummage back through to see who who and what's what so i'll pick things back up at the manor.
Supercape Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Well seing as no major objections have posted (although not quite cut to HQ yet). In anticipation, investigate roll. As time is pressing he wont take 20. 1d20+12=27
Airon Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 Supercape, you're a ref: does the policy require the opening of a third thread? If yes, where's Steam Mansion?
Supercape Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Tha.ts completely optional. Fom perspective I don't see any pressing need to, but you may feel otherwise, and of course you have a better idea about the future
Airon Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 as for the detecting on the knife I'm ok with your 27, if someone wants to help using the Aid Another rules, you may hit last level... Also, if you ask more direct questions, maybe that 27 can lead to more information, let's just see the direction you want to take the investigation. Investigate DC 15 the fingerprints on the knife are those of ambassador Michelle Roche DC 20 the (apparent) strength of ambassador Michelle isn't enough to pierce an Atlantean breastplate with that knife DC 25 trace of DNAs on the knife are of 2 kinds: the victim's of course, and another person, who is NOT the ambassador. DC 25 plus Knowledge [life sciences] 15 the second DNA sample is not human and not Atlantean, though it does resemble the Atlantean more than human DC 30 plus Knowledge [life sciences] 20 the second DNA is Deep One, and actually has an instable quality, a variable pattern to it, modified after the birth.
Eviscerus Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Alright, Leviathan will try a Life Sciences check: 16 IC hates me SOOO much! lol
Supercape Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Ok staying with 27 Investigate and will take 10 for life sciences for a total of 16, reaching penultimate tier in "standard" time.
Airon Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 that's ok with me, but I just want to remember everyone about the Aiding Another rules - page 10 Core Rulebook, that is kind of the point of having more than detective... let me know if you'd like to apply them.
Supercape Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Apologies if I jumped the gun there, Akron and let me know if you would like an edit. I did in the spirit of pace as no aid other posts forthcoming.
Airon Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 No problem, it's just that in my head I had figured you guys working together. I don't want to force anybody... it's just that some minor rules sometimes go forgotten. *** also, judging by your IC post, Supercape, you may have misread the results of the investigation the second DNA sample is not human and not Atlantean, though it does resemble the Atlantean more than human the second one is weird. The first one is the victim's DNA, standard Atlantean. No further conundrum, sorry.
Tiffany Korta Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Okay Investigate is something I can do so I'll help out there 1d20+5=14 so a +2 for Lord Steam.
Supercape Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 SOrry for my mistake Airon, will be editting! I cant see the aid self will help unfortunately, not without pushing up Life Sciences Have made edits to IC post.
Airon Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 SOrry for my mistake Airon, will be editting! I cant see the aid self will help unfortunately, not without pushing up Life Sciences Have made edits to IC post. yes, our front runner on that, Leviathan, has a bit of trouble with Invisible Castle
Airon Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 Ok, so. Leviathan is elsewhere. Steam can't act in this Surprise round - but he gets an HP because the Security System of his mansion was violated. He can still post his reactions of course. Revenant gets an HP for being dragged into water helplessly, and needs to make a Reflex save DC 20 vs a Snare effect.
