Raveled
Fighty fighty fight time. Glacier King's Ini. (1d20+2=18) 5 Snow Monsters, all going on the same count. Snow Monsters' Ini. (1d20=12) Ironclad's Ini. (1d20+5=10) Link to comment
Fox
Initiative Roll (1d20 + 7=17) Close, but not close enough! Link to comment
Raveled
Initiative 18 Glacier King -- Uninjured -- GM 17 Dragonfly -- Uninjured -- HP x3 12 Snow Monster 1 -- Uninjured -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 2 -- Uninjured -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 3 -- Uninjured -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 4 -- Uninjured -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 5 -- Uninjured -- Minion 10 Ironclad -- Uninjured -- HP x4 Hm, should I be mean and exploit the fact that Defense-shifted Dragonfly is Flat-footed? Nah. Let's just go with the ice breath. Damage 12 (Cone/General). Reflex save DC 22 for half damage, DC 27/21 Tou. Ironclad's Reflex save, vs DC 22. (1d20+7=10) Well, this is why we Toughness-shift. Ironclad's Toughness save, vs DC 27. (1d20+15=34) :D Link to comment
Fox
Uncanny Dodge [Radio]! Mara is not denied her dodge bonus at the start of fights, for pretty much precisely that reason. Fortunately, that means she doesn't lose her Shield, which means she doesn't lose her Evasion. Reflex Save vs. Glacier King's Ice Breath, DC22 (1d20 + 6=22) Just barely! Evasion 2 means she escapes completely. Link to comment
Fox
Speaking of things that are flat-footed, though... Extra Effort stunt: Blast 10 (Extras: Area [burst, Targeted], Flaws: Action [Full]) [20pp] Pew pew! Ranged Attack Roll vs. Minions (Targeted Area Burst, Power Attack -2/+2) (1d20 + 10 - 2=15) ....eesh. Hopefully being flat-footed is enough? DC27 Toughness, if that hits them; IC post pending. EDIT: Or I'm stupid, and you can take 10 attacking minions. Durr. That's an attack roll of 18, then. Link to comment
Raveled
Snow Monster 1-4 Toughness save, vs DC 28. (1d20+10=13, 1d20+10=13, 1d20+10=12, 1d20+10=11) They are all down, and start crumbling immediately. Link to comment
Raveled
Snow Monster 5 Aid attempt, vs DC 10. (1d20+8=13) +3 for Monster #6. I know I bought Teamwork for a reason. Snow Monster 6's ranged attack roll, vs Dragonfly's Def. DC 23 + Autofire (1d20+11=23) JUST hits. No extra damage from Autofire, though. DC 23 Toughness save, Dragonfly. Ironclad's gonna smack the guy around a bit. Ironclad's melee attack roll, vs Glacier King's Def. DC 25 Tou (1d20+10=11) Reroll, please. Ironclad's melee attack roll, vs Glacier King's Def. DC 25 Tou. Reroll (1d20+10=22) Well, that doesn't merit +10, anyway. Of course it's STILL not enough to hit his Def of 24. Oi. King gets back his own by pummeling Clad. Glacier King's melee attack roll, vs Ironclad's Def. DC 27 Tou (1d20+12=26) That'll hit. Ironclad's Toughness save, vs DC 25. (1d20+15=34) At least that +Tou shifting is helping, here. Fox
Toughness Save vs. Snowballs, DC23 (1d20 + 9=23) A just-saved for a just-hit! Appropriate. Dragonfly spends an HP to waive the fatigue from the stunt she did last round. I'm assuming here that the two remaining snowmen aren't gonna fit into the area of her attack, since they didn't the first time - alas. Dragonfly switches to her straight-up blast. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Snowman 6 (blast) (1d20 + 11=16) Blaaaah. Link to comment
Raveled
They actually have Def 16. Snow Monster's Toughness save, vs DC 26. (1d20+10=15) It's down, one left. Link to comment
Fox
Aha! Well, then. IC edited. Link to comment
Raveled
Apparently there's only 5 snow monsters, not 6 like I thought. Good thing that Dragonfly resisted that damage, hey? Okay, snow monsters are all down so time for Ironclad to hit the Glacier King again. She's getting angry, so let's bring 'dis. Ironclad's ranged attack w/ +5 Power Attack & +5 All-Out Attack, vs Glacier King's Def. DC 30 Tou (1d20+10=28) If only her ranged attack was the one with Improved Crit... Glacier King's Toughness save, vs DC 30. (1d20+10=29) You sunova... Bruise x1. King gets back on her with a Snare. Glacier King's ranged attack check, vs Ironclad's Def. DC 22 Ref (1d20+12=18) That would hit her even without her Defense in the toilet. Ironclad's Reflex save, vs DC 22. (1d20+7=21) She is Entangled Initiative 18 Glacier King -- Bruise x1 -- GM 17 Dragonfly -- Uninjured -- HP x3 12 Snow Monster 1 -- OUT -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 2 -- OUT -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 3 -- OUT -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 4 -- OUT -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 5 -- OUT -- Minion 10 Ironclad -- Entangled -- HP x4 Link to comment
Fox
Dragonfly could probably try to help Ironclad out of that, but not without setting them both up to get popsicle'd. Ranged Attack Roll vs. King (blast) (1d20 + 11=26) DC26 Tou save. Dragonfly moves around so that she and Ironclad are on opposite sides of the villain. Link to comment
Raveled
Glacier King's Toughness save, vs DC 26. (1d20+8=23) Bruise x2. Ironclad is entangled, so -2 to Att and Def. She'll try her brand-new Snare on Mr. Ice, see if she can't lock him down long enough for Dragonfly to get off a bigger hit! Ironclad's ranged attack roll w/ +3 All-Out Attack, vs Glacier King's Def. DC 20 Reflex (1d20+11=15) She has the HP, I'll reroll that. Ironclad's ranged attack roll w/ +3 All-Out Attack, vs Glacier King's Def. DC 20 Reflex. Reroll (1d20+11=28) Oh, yeah. Glacier King's Reflex save, vs DC 20. (1d20+7=25) Ouch. But he aces the save. Glacier King goes after Ironclad in retribution for the hit! Glacier King's ranged attack roll w/ +5 Power Attack, vs Ironclad's Def. DC 32 Tou (1d20+7=10) With her Defense drained, that is actually enough to hit her. Ironclad's Toughness save, vs DC 32. (1d20+15=35) This is why we Toughness-shift, ladies and gentles! Fox
Dragonfly swoops in for some stunnin'. Melee Attack Roll vs. Glacier King (taser hand) (1d20 + 11=24) DC21 Fort save - fail means dazed, fail by 5 is stunned, fail by 10 is KO. Link to comment
Raveled
Glacier King's Fort save, vs DC 21. (1d20+7=22) Can't argue with those saves. Link to comment
Raveled
Ironclad's going to shift herself into full S-Str mode and try to break the ice around her. Str 20 + S-Str rank 5 means a Toughness check vs DC 30 for the Snare. Glacier King's Snare's Toughness save, vs DC 30. (1d20+12=29) Injured x1. Glacier King is up and since Dragonfly's running around being all flitty and annoying, he's going to try and lock her down with her own Snare. Winterfire's ranged attack w/ +2 Accurate Attack, vs Dragonfly's Def. DC 20 Ref. (1d20+14=15) Initiative 18 Glacier King -- Bruise x2 -- GM 17 Dragonfly -- Uninjured -- HP x3 12 Snow Monster 1 -- OUT -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 2 -- OUT -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 3 -- OUT -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 4 -- OUT -- Minion 12 Snow Monster 5 -- OUT -- Minion 10 Ironclad -- Entangled -- HP x3 10 Snare -- Injured x1 Link to comment
Fox
Ranged Attack Roll vs. Glacier King (blast) (1d20 + 11=25) Doop. DC26 toughness save. Dragonfly backs out of melee range again, for now, but still tries to keep him between her and Ironclad. Link to comment
Raveled
Cold Front's Toughness save, vs DC 26. (1d20+8=22) Failed by 4, Bruise x3. Ironclad is still Entangled. The Snare's Toughness save is not quite low enough for her to bust it in a single round, so punching it again! Snare's Toughness save, vs DC 30. (1d20+11=19) Miss by 11, so... Disabled? Ah, screw it. Surge to attack the Glacier King again, 'cause this is starting to drag out and there's still more to do! Ironclad's ranged attack roll w/ +5 All-Out Attack, vs Glacier King's Def. DC 25 Toughness (1d20+13=29) Hits. Glacier King's Toughness save, vs DC 25. (1d20+7=9) And that's the sort of save Dragonfly should've pulled out of him. Oh well, he's down for the count. Raveled
Dragonfly can make a Disable Device or Search check if she wishes. Link to comment
Fox
Her Search is pretty awful, so let's just go with Disable Device. DC30, at least according to the core book (and barring GM adjustment). Really ought to take another rank of skill mastery, at some point. But hey, 72% odds she'll get it (including possibility of a reroll). Disable Device check, DC30(?) (1d20 + 15=20) Nope. Disable Device check REROLL, DC30(?) (1d20 + 15=27) Dangit, Invisible Castle.... IC post pending confirmation of results, though if the DC was 30, one imagines that's a failure unless she's getting any sort of synergy out of her Knowledge skills. Link to comment
Raveled
Perform (Stringed Instruments) crosses over to know how a tuning fork works? Well Ironclad doesn't have any better chance to succeed, so I'll say Dragonfly makes it; it's a pretty hasty-looking, rushed job, so most of the guts are exposed and it's easy to see what connects to where. Tracing back some of the wires, Dragonfly finds a green glowing, pulsing unit about the size of her fist. It looks to be the power source for the whole machine. Link to comment
Raveled
For the record, Jessica bought Mara a slow cooker. A practical present! Link to comment
