Supercape Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 OOC thread for this. Heraldo and Glow and some Immegrants in trouble!
Supercape Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 Complication for Kristen - nosy reporter / fame. Glow - 3 HP - Unharmed Heraldo - 1 HP - Unharmed
Supercape Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 Ok, just for a bit of structure! Relevant rolls / Actions: Knowledge [Popular Culture] For knowing about Rick Royer and Steve Diamond. You know of them but higher DC rolls will let you know more detail. This does not need to be trained (if untrained no result higher than 15). Knowledge [Current Events] for knowing about the illegal immegrant problems, again does not have to be untrained. You can make some Gather Information or Knowledge [streetwise] Checks asking around the docks. Or, use diplomacy on ROyer (or if you are desperate, Jack, but he is less friendly) for information. Or, if you are really flash, try to bluff your way into an audience with Steve Diamond (for whatever purpose!) DC 20 for that however.
Ari Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Pop Culture roll: (16:21:59) System: Arichamus rolls 1d20 and gets (17)+5=22. Current Events roll: (16:24:11) System: Arichamus rolls 1d20 and gets (7)+9=16. Diplomacy roll to ask Royer about the case: (16:26:23) System: Arichamus rolls 1d20 and gets (3)+10=13.
Scuffles Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Pop culture roll for Glow: System: Scuffles rolls 1d20 and gets (17)+5=22. She's more worried about getting away from the media without making herself look stupid so she's not going to be trying to sweet talk Royler. She doesn't know anything about the people smuggling. Well apart from what she's learning now.
Supercape Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 OK: Pop Culture Steve Diamond is a very wealthy crooner, actor, and playboy. You know his hits, style (classic schmoozing) and even the names of some of his girlfriends (feel free to make these up). You also know there have been whispers he has been tied to the mob and organised crime. Current Events There is indeed an illegal immigrant problem. A recent particular spike has been from mexico, possibly due to a rise in crime in the south of the region, but you don't know much about the details other than some crime lords are on the rise down there. They don't have much luck down here. Some have needed medical attention, been poisoned with drug overdoses. The common perception is that the immigrants are all drug addicts smuggling drugs, bad for America, but its not a universal opinion. Voyeur doesn't shift from being indifferent. He will answer questions but isn't going to be particularly helpful (to you at least). Just socially normal - for him! NB: Scuffles, please note above, Glow knows the same about Steve Diamond.
Scuffles Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 This is what happens when we gather information: System: Scuffles rolls 1d20 and gets (3)=3. That's right. We now know that the sky is blue!
Ari Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Gather Information roll: (19:26:42) System: Arichamus rolls 1d20 and gets (15)+4=19.
Supercape Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 DC 15 is enough for specific information. I will take a leap of faith and presume you are asking about the immigrants! Posting IC
Supercape Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 If you are serious about that bluff, lets have a bluff roll, Scuffles! ;)
Scuffles Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 So I thought "ha ha why not!" and then rolled a 20. Total 21.
Scuffles Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I figured that blatantly lying to reporters would need another bluff roll. 11 isn't nearly as convincing as last time though.
Supercape Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 1d20+7=17 Jack Jackson! Ace Reporter! PS: Jack is using the Reporter Archetype, with the addition of a Craft (Photography) Skill of +6 (+7), and Equipment: Masterwork Camera!
Supercape Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 Diego shifted from indifferent to friendly.
Scuffles Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Kristin's hoping that if she gives Jackson something he really wants to hear he might run off and try to dig up dirt on port officials. I guess I have to roll something again now? :D
Scuffles Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I'm a little confused by Ari's last post. I would have assumed that these are two separate conversations and that Subito wouldn't know what Kristin and Jack are talking about at all?
Ari Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Sorry for the confusion, I assumed Kristin and Jack Jackson of Jacktown were talking loudly enough for most anyone close enough by to hear, I'll edit that.
Scuffles Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Well I'm assuming they're not yelling! And I figure Diego wouldn't be hanging around too close to Jackson because he's a bit camera shy!
Scuffles Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 "Ladies and Gent's!" shouted out Jackson as a ship hand started unwinding the rope to the dock "Gotta fly! the ocean is calling and I don't want to be late for my appointment!" he gave a very smug smile and ducked down to the cabin. That should say "Diamond", not "Jackson" right?
Supercape Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 That should say "Diamond", not "Jackson" right? *Ahem* Of course. Edit made! :D
Ari Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Double head-desk because I just recalled that Subito has enhanced hearing on all the time, so he actually COULD have heard Kris and Jack Jackson of Jacktown, JN talking. Moving on, Subito is going to stop the boat, hoping the ruckus creates a window of opportunity for Kris to get on board somehow while he hides out on the underside of the prow.
Scuffles Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 OK, so Kristin doesn't know what's been going on with Subito and Cruz, but she knows enough that she doesn't want him near the boat. Supercape says she can be between Cruz and the yacht, so she's going to "accidentally" get in his way and tackle him. This needs a grapple check, and Kristin rolls a 19.
