Vahnyu Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I'm not sure how much accurate the information I've used is. Feel free to correct me, Arichamus, if it's not.
Ari Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 Okay, the Race! will be decided by a DEX roll(to navigate the forest quickly) and a CON roll(to slog through the snow in winter stuff). In case of a tie in one of the rolls(unlikely), a simple tie-breaker 1d20 roll by both parties, with the higher roll the winner of that category. Sound good? Also, if you want to fly, a WIS roll to predict the best route to fly.
Vahnyu Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Dex: 1d20+3 → [10,3] = (13) Con: 1d20+3 → [9,3] = (12)
Ari Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 Dex: 12. Con: 13. EDIT: As it was explicitly told to me that Serge is using his Enhanced CON, I'm adding Heraldo's to his roll, making it 18. Thus winning the race.
Vahnyu Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Serge takes 20! on his Notice check(25!!!), spending a minute trying to see if that deer skull holds anything of interest. Afterwards, he'll take 10 to inspect the rest of the cave(15!).
Ari Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Serge easily finds a small green remote control hidden in the antlers of the dead deer, and sees lots of tracks around the floor made by oddly narrow feet that left arrowhead-like impressions. They went up to the place where the deer skull now is, wandered around for a bit, and left.
Ari Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 DC20 Computers check to figure out what the password is! The cave is..somehow not the same as it used to be, its dimensions have altered, noticeably increasing.
Vahnyu Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 taking 10 on computer to figure out the password (10+10=20) Taking 20 on Notice to notice things about the keyboard specifically (5+20=25)
Ari Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 The password is JW3K9V5R4N56DD, not too complicated. The keyboard uses an input system that in aesthetics matches modern cell phones, but its wiring system and power supply, not to mention its materials, are obviously from at least 30 years ago. It looks to have been handmade, with numerous idiosyncrasies in the keys and much bulkier and more inelegant hardware than would be used commercially.
Ari Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 Okay, DC18 Knowledge(Physical Sciences) check for Heraldo to see if he can figure out what the papers can tell him about the place. 13. Can't tell what sort of place this was, but they used a lot of steel.
Vahnyu Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 taking ten on an intelligence (+5) skill check for a simple knowledge about the contents of the paper 15
Ari Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 Apparently this was a weapons manufacturing plant of some kind, dealing mostly with small arms. Nothing about the place strikes Net Fly as being even remotely legal.
Vahnyu Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Net Fly takes 20 on his Computers check or his Knowledge Technology check, whichever is aplicable, for a total of 30, in order to determine the properties of the control panel. If Net Fly cannot take 20 on those checks, he takes 10, for a total of 20
Ari Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 You totally can, there's no pressing worry. It quickly becomes apparent that the controls don't actually DO anything. The facility is wholly automated, and the controls have been disconnected from the electrical grid, though their lighting in still active.
Vahnyu Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Taking 10 on Knowledge Technology[Total 20], to diagnose if the thing is operational and connected to the facility's intranet, 10 on Craft Electronics[total 20] to repair any possible damage it may have, using Datalink to connect with the machine, taking 10 on Computers[total 20] to defeat any possible security I may encounter, and a 20 on Computers[total 30] to ascertain the location of the mainframe
Ari Posted March 7, 2012 Author Posted March 7, 2012 1. Succeeds. Everything is fully in working order. Newly tuned with the latest software to keep it running at top efficiency. No security systems encountered. the mainframe is somewhere in the first level, in a room mindbogglingly placed so that only an elevator coming up from the third level could get to it.
Ari Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 Actually, if you want to respond first Vahn, go ahead.
Vahnyu Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Taking 10 on Notice and Knowledge[Technology] to figure out if there's anything unusual about dem robots. 15 vs DC14 and 20 vs DC10, respectively.
Ari Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 They've trying to get to something on the other side of the wall. it seems their pathfinding has gone completely haywire, and their legs don't seem operable. At least, they don't seem able to move them.
Ari Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 Now to see if Subito notices that. 24. ...Fur Was? Okay...Knowledge(Technology) check, DC10: 5. nah, he has no idea what the problem is.
Vahnyu Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Taking 10 on Knowledge(Technology) and Computers, in order to operate te mainframe and attempt to trace the signal.
Ari Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Serge finds out from the computer that something ten miles north in the forest is sending the signal, and that whatever it's doing is, among other things, interfering with the robots and causing them to focus on reaching that previously indeterminate spot. As well, it is remotely-controlling the machinery of the place.
Ari Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 The robots are around 500 lbs.(about 225kgs.) Using Super-STR to increase effective STR to 35, which makes 1024lbs. a Light Load. Picking it up in a fireman's hoist and carrying it back to the elevator.
