Supercape Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 OOC Thread for this thread. Weaver becomes a father! Plus! Mystical powers beyond the understanding of mortal men!!!
Supercape Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 Somewhat arbitrary. Mid morning might be best unlEss you have a suggestion otherwise
Supercape Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 You can indeed! If for some reasons not (and I see mo reason why not) consider that a hero point.
Supercape Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 And could we have a notice roll please!
Airon Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 there you go. Notice 1d20+13 → [15,13] = (28) Unfortunately I'm still unable to log in IC - I tried creating a different account with different e-mail, nothing. Bah. Also, I'd rather have Arug - he shares an empathic link with Weaver, so if the teleport is imagination-based, it could work... right now he can be either rolled into a large bag, or following from a distance - taking 10 on Stealth (for a total of 21) to avoid people noticing a flying carpet over the rooftops!
Supercape Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Oh dear! well if you can message me do so. Otherwise use this thread to communicate anything you need to. In any case, Airon notices one of the beggars paying particularly close attention to the two of you.
Airon Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I'll take 10 (total 23) on Bluff to cause a distraction, and use said distraction to hide using Stealth (also taking 10 for a total of 23). I don't think this a stressful situation, but if I need to roll let me know. Assuming that whole maneuver worked, I'll stay hidden observing the reaction of the beggar, if he looks for me, if he approaches the professor, if he meets with somebody else... If he approaches the professor, anyway, I Ready an action: Selective Obscure on the beggar (descriptor: a scarf or shawl flies off a tourist's neck and casually lands on his face, as if carried by wind).
Supercape Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 1d20+10=12 Sense Motive 1d20+10=11 Notice Thats fine!
Supercape Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 You are welcome to a knowledge (arcane) roll here! taking 10 is ok and will get you the basics. Higher results (if you roll) give you more information.
Airon Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 let's say that Weaver is too unexperienced to take 10 on Arcane Lore 1d20+5 → [18,5] = (23) but he makes up in luck what he lacks in skill (bit of a tonguetwister)
Supercape Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 You can see fragments of some incantation on the Scroll. It references the Sphinx and some way of unlocking the door to an extra-dimensional room (couch this in any arcane / mystic jargon you wish!). With this information, you think you can perform some kind of ritual (again, narrate this as you please) to gain "entrance"!
Airon Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Weaver is not taking any chances. Since it's not his strong suit, he'll take 20 (I don't know how big is the room, but that shouldn't take too long) on Searching for traps. Also, let's throw in another Arcane Lore to help with magical traps 1d20+5 → [9,5] = (14) well, that's not good.
Supercape Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 Caution caution! There is nothing in the room trap-wise. Arcane lore wise, it is more than possible that the bone scroll case could contain any kind of magic, spirit, or djinn, but without opening it, who knows?
Supercape Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 Could you give me a Will Save, DC 20?
Airon Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Could you give me a Will Save, DC 20? I could, but should I? 1d20+8 → [2,8] = (10) well, apparently I shouldn't have.
Supercape Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 OK Thats a drain Wisdom Effect from the Earth-Shattering Lovecraftian Madness of the Scrolls! With Slow Fade 1/hour. And a hero point for the maximal failure! Sanity-improving acts will speed WIS recovery ip if we can think of it! Weaver - 2 Hero Points - WIS 6
Airon Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 wait, I'm not really clear with the situation: we do not remember the way to get out of the Sphinx?
Supercape Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 You are fine, sorry for the last post. Sure you can narrate taking a wrong turn or two from the Lovecraftian SAN drain, but you are both good to get out.
Airon Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I don't think Ahmed is lying, but here's a Sense Motive just to be sure he's being genuine: 1d20+8 → [8,8] = (16) meh. Probably won't tell me much.
Supercape Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Surprsingly, he is telling the truth! (you think! )
Airon Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 unless he can't because he's under stress, Arug will take 10 on both Stealth (total +21) and Notice (total +18) to carry out Weaver's orders.
Airon Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Diplomacy, to calm him down mostly 1d20+12 → [15,12] = (27) BOOM yeah!
