trollthumper
Nick and Edge get together to talk global politics. Also, zombies. Link to comment
trollthumper
All right, Nick does not have an Analytical Detect Magic Super-Sense (yet), so I will settle for an Investigate or Knowledge (life sciences) check to look over the skeletons. They both have the same skill bonus. Or... not. Screw it. Hero Point. That comes out to a 24. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Investigate+Life Sciences reveals that these are ancient bones, several hundred years old, at least. A mixture of male and female, all adults, and all seem to be of European origin. What killed them, well, it's hard to tell, but from all the necromantic magic bound up in them it must have been powerful. Link to comment
trollthumper
Aaaand I forgot to do the corresponding Notice check for the Postcognition part of Nick's Banshee Wail power. My bad. That's a 31. Let's see what it digs up. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Nick can tell the bones are beginning to animaaaate Link to comment
trollthumper
Nick is going to use Nullify Necromancy 13 on his bone as a surprise action. That probably won't work, but whatever. And as I suspect Initiative is coming up, Nick... goes on 7. IC does not like me today. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Have an HP for the Fiat, TT. Edge seizes initiative and goes first. The bone golem has the stats of King Size here but with INT 8 and CHA 8. Edge: Seized, 8 HP Bone Golem: 14 Nick: 7, 4 HP Edge goes ahead and Inspires Nick. He's down an HP. The bone golem goes ahead and tries to smash Nick: 14 Swing and a miss! All for the best. Nick is up as soon as I post IC. Link to comment
trollthumper
Move Action: Nick attempts to Startle the Bone Golem. And rolls a 12, 17 w/ Inspire. Maybe that'll work. Free Action: Switching from Nullify 12 (No Dominion) to Strike 16 (Ereshkigal's Talons) in the Gifts of the Dead Array. Standard Action: Nick strikes at the Bone Golem, Power Attacking for -3 ATT/+3 DMG. That's a 26 w/ Inspire factored in. Guessing that hits, in which case, DC34 Toughness. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
27 A terrible roll! Let's call that just plain old injured. Have another HP. You can spend an HP for inspiration to figure out what it's saying, if you want. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Round 2: Nick is not detecting _any_ necromancy from the giant golem, which is a little odd. And when he looks closely, there only seems to be one ghost there. Edge puts a shield up around himself and Nick, using his Create Object effect. The golem hits it. What the heck, I'll actually roll: 35 Nice! OK, let me post IC Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
He's shouting "Smash the worker of death magic! In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost! Smash the sorcerer in the name of Christ Jesus!" Link to comment
trollthumper
At which point Nick relents, his arms spread wide, not working any more necromancy. That's how he's spending this turn. EDIT: Actually, I will be spending more Hero Points! One to buy Challenge (Combat Diplomacy)! Aaaaand one to reroll that. Good, that's a 20 with the HP reroll. Let's see what it does. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
With Nick's Arcane Lore, he can recognize without a roll that this looks very much like Malador's mask! It's clearly not the same, cut with a much more Dagonite/Deep One look, but it's quite similar, perhaps made by the same ancient craftsman many years ago... Link to comment
trollthumper
Time for a Nullify Dead/Death Powers check! As I started with the PL13 sheet, we should probably stay there. 27. Let's see if that's enough. Link to comment
