If anyone wants to get any "arriving at the scene" posts up before we start combat proper, I'll totally allow it. Otherwise, let me know and I'll get an IC "this happens" post up before the combat starts. Speaking of... as it looks like combat is about to start, something happens to the thugs. Something... magical. The Moon will be represented by AA's Combat Illusionist, the Chariot will be represented by Ecal's Speedster, and Judgment will be represented by my Truenamer. All shall be raised to PL12, with caps adjusted to match.

Chariot goes first, and attempts to drive his sword into Nick. That's a 25, so he gets +1 from Autofire and hits DC26 Toughness. Shame that's below the Impervious 12 on Nick's jacket. Nick, meanwhile, unleashes Ignis Fatuus, which just manages to hit. That's a DC24 Will save... and the Chariot is Dazed and Staggered.

The Moon is up (heh), and it unleashes a Mental Blast on Nick, aiming to Stun. That's a DC27 Will save for Nick, and ...well, ouch. Hero Point! That's just a Bruise, which is better.

Standard Action: Emotion Control [Fear]

That's a DC22 Will Save for anyone who can see her. It isn't, unfortunately, Selective, but Dead Head has Fearless and Nick and Equinox have meaty Will Saves so fingers crossed.

That Detect Fear power is Analytical, for the sake of argument, so it may tell her something useful.

The Moon is Shaken, the Chariot goes running fast, and Judgment is likewise Shaken. Nick resists the fear effect, and... we'll say the palmister is curled up in the corner. Ghost Girl can tell that for the Tarot channelers, the Arcana they represent aren't affected by the cards... but they're overlaid onto mortal forms, which are very afraid of what they're seeing. In the case of the Chariot, the mortal weighs out over the... whatever it is.

Standard Action: Charging (+2 Attack/-2 Defense) the Chariot (Defense 22) (1d20+8=28) Shame Minions can't crit against non-minions. But that is a hit, and a DC 19 Toughness save. If it dazes the Chariot again, I should have enough Damage to overcome his knockback to knock him prone.

Please don't forget his Interpose feat. (I know it can't be used on Perception-range effects, like Mental Blast.)

The Moon uses Sense Motive, beats the Startle. It still takes a -2 to all saves due to Shaken, however, and ends up Dazed and Staggered.
