trollthumper Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 The New Midnighters on their first real mission - dealing with Tarot troubles on the Boardwalk.
trollthumper Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 Let's get Initiative out of the way for fighty time! Nick goes on 23, and we'll get the thugs rolled up when everyone else gets on the scene.
Dr Archeville Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Dead Head's init (1d20+2=9) Mutt's init (1d20+2=4) Will we be needing to use a Move action to the to the action, or is this assuming everyone's already gotten there?
trollthumper Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 Dead Head's init (1d20+2=9) Mutt's init (1d20+2=4) Will we be needing to use a Move action to the to the action, or is this assuming everyone's already gotten there? This assumes everyone's already there.
trollthumper Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 If anyone wants to get any "arriving at the scene" posts up before we start combat proper, I'll totally allow it. Otherwise, let me know and I'll get an IC "this happens" post up before the combat starts. Speaking of... as it looks like combat is about to start, something happens to the thugs. Something... magical. The Moon will be represented by AA's Combat Illusionist, the Chariot will be represented by Ecal's Speedster, and Judgment will be represented by my Truenamer. All shall be raised to PL12, with caps adjusted to match. The Moon goes on 9. The Chariot goes on 25. Judgment goes on 8. Chariot: 25, Unharmed, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 9, Unharmed, 2 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Unharmed, 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP
trollthumper Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 Chariot goes first, and attempts to drive his sword into Nick. That's a 25, so he gets +1 from Autofire and hits DC26 Toughness. Shame that's below the Impervious 12 on Nick's jacket. Nick, meanwhile, unleashes Ignis Fatuus, which just manages to hit. That's a DC24 Will save... and the Chariot is Dazed and Staggered. Chariot: 25, Unharmed, Dazed (Nick Cimitiere's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 9, Unharmed, 2 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Unharmed, 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP Dead Head is up next.
Dr Archeville Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Dead Head's going after the Judgement/Truenamer, since he does vaguely look Angel of Death-y. Nothing fancy to start with, just a straightforward strike. Attack roll w/ shovel; DC 26 Toughness save (24 if it's immune to extra Sneak Attack damage) (1d20+13=30) Pretty sure that hits!
trollthumper Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 Judgment is Bruised and Dazed. Chariot: 25, Unharmed, Dazed (Nick Cimitiere's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 9, Unharmed, 2 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Bruised x1, Dazed (Dead Head's Action), 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP The Moon decides to hit Dead Head with a Mental Blast. That's a DC27 Will save. Ghost Girl is up next.
Dr Archeville Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Will save v. Mental Blast (DC 27) (1d20+6=25) Huzzah! A mere Injury.
Gizmo Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Ghost Girl Move Action: Sink into the floor and come up at the Moon's feet. Standard Action: Chill of the Grave. (1d20+12=21) Not sure if that hits or not.
trollthumper Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 As the Moon is Defense-shifted, that just misses, sadly. Mutt is up next.
Dr Archeville Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Move Action: Move into area Standard Action: Use Fearsome Presence (DC 20)
trollthumper Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 The Moon makes his Will save, the Chariot fails by 9 (so he's running away very, very fast once he can), and Judgment makes his save as well. Chariot: 25, Unharmed, Dazed (Nick Cimitiere's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 9, Unharmed, 2 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Bruised x1, Dazed (Dead Head's Action), 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP Equinox is up next.
Ecalsneerg Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Standard Action - Flaming Blast on the Chariot, Accurate Attacking for 2... DC24 flaming Blast on the Chariot (1d20+13=30) Move Action - need to find something to do with this build >.>
trollthumper Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 The Chariot takes a Bruise and has his Daze refreshed. Chariot: 25, Bruised x1, Dazed (Equinox's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 9, Injured x1, 2 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Bruised x1, Dazed (Dead Head's Action), 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP Nick goes next, and he moves in to use his Talons on the Moon. I'm still using Nick's old PL13 sheet (as that's how the thread started), so it'll be a +10 attack and +16 damage. Accurate Attacking for 2... well, that's not gonna hit. Dead Head is up next.
Dr Archeville Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Dead Head delays, so he'll go at the same time as Mutt.
trollthumper Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 So adjusted. Chariot: 25, Bruised x1, Dazed (Equinox's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Unharmed, 3 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Bruised x1, 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 4, Injured x1, 2 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP The Moon is up (heh), and it unleashes a Mental Blast on Nick, aiming to Stun. That's a DC27 Will save for Nick, and ...well, ouch. Hero Point! That's just a Bruise, which is better. Chariot: 25, Bruised x1, Dazed (Equinox's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Bruised x1, 2 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Bruised x1, 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 4, Injured x1, 2 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP As Dead Head's turn technically passed, Judgment shook off his Dazed and is up next. He moves up to Equinox, raises the horn, and blows right at her, using the Stun function. As it's an Area Cone burst, that'll be a DC22 Fortitude save with a DC22 Reflex to halve. Ghost Girl is up next.
Gizmo Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Hm. Would these guys be susceptible to Emotion Control, troll?
Gizmo Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Alrighty then. Ghost Girl Free Action: Switch to Terrible Beauty AP. Move Action: Detect Fear Notice check. (1d20+11=26) Standard Action: Emotion Control [Fear] That's a DC22 Will Save for anyone who can see her. It isn't, unfortunately, Selective, but Dead Head has Fearless and Nick and Equinox have meaty Will Saves so fingers crossed. That Detect Fear power is Analytical, for the sake of argument, so it may tell her something useful.
trollthumper Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 The Moon is Shaken, the Chariot goes running fast, and Judgment is likewise Shaken. Nick resists the fear effect, and... we'll say the palmister is curled up in the corner. Ghost Girl can tell that for the Tarot channelers, the Arcana they represent aren't affected by the cards... but they're overlaid onto mortal forms, which are very afraid of what they're seeing. In the case of the Chariot, the mortal weighs out over the... whatever it is. Chariot: 25, Bruised x1, Dazed (Equinox's Action), Staggered, Fleeing, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Bruised x1, 2 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, Shaken, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Bruised x1, Shaken, 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 4, Injured x1, 2 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP Dead Head and Mutt are up next.
Dr Archeville Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Dead Head goes after the Moon, Mutt goes after the Chariot. Dead Head Reaction: Regenerate to remove Injury. Move Action: Startle/Feint Intimidate check (1d20+17=21) Standard Action: Kabong w/ Shovel Attack w/ Shovel; All-Out Attack (-2 Def/+2 Attk), Power Attack (-2 Attk/+2 Dmg); DC 26 Toughness save if it hits (28 if flat-footed) (1d20+13=19) ugh, HP to reroll Attack w/ Shovel; All-Out Attack (-2 Def/+2 Attk), Power Attack (-2 Attk/+2 Dmg); DC 26 Toughness save if it hits (28 if flat-footed); HP re-roll (1d20+13=17) but that actually turns out to be a 27, which hits. Mutt Standard Action: Charging (+2 Attack/-2 Defense) the Chariot (Defense 22) (1d20+8=28) Shame Minions can't crit against non-minions. But that is a hit, and a DC 19 Toughness save. If it dazes the Chariot again, I should have enough Damage to overcome his knockback to knock him prone. IC post coming as soon as I can get this comp to cooperate. Dead Head's down to 1 HP now, and is undamaged. Please don't forget his Interpose feat. (I know it can't be used on Perception-range effects, like Mental Blast.)
trollthumper Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 The Moon uses Sense Motive, beats the Startle. It still takes a -2 to all saves due to Shaken, however, and ends up Dazed and Staggered. Chariot: 25, Bruised x1, Dazed (Equinox's Action), Staggered, Fleeing, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Bruised x1, 2 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, Dazed (Dead Head's Action), Staggered, Shaken, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Bruised x1, Shaken, 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 4, Unharmed, 1 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP The Chariot, meanwhile, takes another Bruise and refreshes its Daze. Chariot: 25, Bruised x2, Dazed (Mutt's Action), Staggered, Fleeing, 0 HP Nick Cimitiere: 23, Bruised x1, 2 HP Moon: 9, Unharmed, Dazed (Dead Head's Action), Staggered, Shaken, 0 HP Judgment: 8, Bruised x1, Shaken, 0 HP Ghost Girl: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Dead Head: 4, Unharmed, 1 HP Mutt: 4, Unharmed, 0 HP Equinox: 3, Unharmed, 4 HP Equinox is up next.
