Alternate Identity:Christopher Davison Identity: Secret Birthplace: Mannheim, Germany Occupation: AEGIS Special Agent Affiliations: AEGIS Family: Kaela Davison (Mother), Frederick Davison (Father), Alexander Davison (Brother) Description: Age: 30 (DoB: April 3, 1991 Apparent Age: Not Applicable Gender: Male Ethnicity: Mulatto (African American and Caucasian) Height:5’11’’ Weight: 180 lbs Eyes: Brown Hair: Black Standing at five feet and eleven inches with a finely muscled figure, one can see that this man is physically fit. Two dark brown eyes are set into his face above a rather large, wide nose and thin lips. Heavy bags, hinting at exhaustion, rest beneath his eyes, a constant reminder of how much stress this man feels. His short, straight black hairs have been trimmed delicately. He commonly dresses in a rather professional manner, wearing a black silken suit with a tie, the fabric ironed and maintained carefully. He reveals himself as a hero only in his alternate form. Power Descriptions: Harland possesses an affinity over darkness due to a distant ancestor from the Schattenweld, imbuing him with a rather sinister power. Through this darkness, he can manifest an ebony-hilt blade, capable of striking fiercely. Part of his powers are limited to areas of darkness, such as teleportation. Harland's most unique manipulation of the darkness from the Shattenweld is the creation of illusion, capable of creating life-like images wrought from energies from the Shattenweld. Upon activating his alternate form, his appearance changes drastically. His tanned skin darkens to a deep black, and Harland’s brown eyes, too, darken with enlarged pupils. Within this form his very figure morphs, allowing him to transcend human shape as he becomes incorporeal. History: Harland was born in Mannheim, Germany to a Physicist father and a simple clerk mother. His mother’s line traces back to the Nazi’s which inhabited the Schattenweld, imbuing him with the powers he would discover years later. From a young age, Frederick attempted to spark an interest in physics within his son, but Harland instead dabbled in fantasies - tales of heroes. The life of a hero seemed ideal to the boy. Power, a mighty reputation, and the ability to change. How he wished for that, but Harland knew that he was but a young child ultimately destined to follow into his father’s footstep, regardless of how little interest he had in the field of Physics. Harland was mistaken. Born during the Cold War era, Harland faced both racism due to his mulatto heritage and conflict with the xenophobic. As a simple child, little could he do against the hatred of the masses. To worsen matters, his father, Frederick, researched for the Nazi’s during World War II. It was not by his own choice, but it mattered not to the people, they viewed him as scum. Not only did Harland have to deal with the racial tension, but the hatred for his father which citizen of Mannheim extended to him. At age thirteen, in a fit of rage, he discovered his powers. The surroundings became shrouded in a deep darkness, concealing all from sight. At first Harland recoiled in fear. Have fiends come to grasp him? No, that was not the case, for he was safe, unharmed. Within time, he honed those powers. He did not gain full control of them until he was 18th, after his family immigrated to Atlanta, Georgia. Upon having gained a deeper control over his power, Harland enlisted in the military, in which he served for six years in the Special Forces until he was hired by AEGIS, moving to Freedom City. By then he had lost contact with his parents due to the subtle nature of service in the Special Forces. With the training of AEGIS, his powers were honed further, and now he faced true challenges, opposing villains, men who not only wished him harm, but possessed the power to do so. Under orders of AEGIS, he travelled the world, completing various tasks as one of their agents. He served for years without hesitation, certain to follow every order for the safety of Freedom City, and ultimately America. Personality & Motivation: He is a fan of subtlety, believing that outright confrontation is not always the best means of approach. Of course it is his duty to seek out threats to Freedom City, but rather than simply wading into danger, he prefers to walk with care, planning the approach so that he remains unseen, if at all possible. Only then can he truly be a thorn in the sides of his foes. Preferably, he will infiltrate a base and ruin the infrastructure or recover plans before facing the threat directly. The man is somewhat of a romantic hero. While he serves AEGIS without hesitation, Harland fiercely believes in his own independence. He belongs to an organization, but only through passion, savoring each and every moment, enjoying the tiny things can he distinguish himself. Harland is best described as a complete and utter patriot to both his homeland, Germany, and his current country of residence, America. Rather naively he believes that Germany can be safe only if America remains secure due to the high concentration of villains, therefore he joined AEGIS. Powers & Tactics: While he is a rather capable warrior, Harland lacks physical strength, therefore, unless it is necessary, he avoids direct confrontation. Rather, he plans to mislead his foes by disappearing from sight or becoming enshrouded in the darkness which he controls to allow for the opportune moment to strike. Should it come to direct confrontation, he immediately faces the challenges with a wary mind. Harland is entirely self-taught, therefore he lacks delicate technique, depending mainly on improvisation. Complications: Paranoia: During Harland’s time working for AEGIS, he antagonized numerous enemies as missions were not always a perfect success. These enemies are hunting him down. Agent Duties: Harland has difficulty balancing his personal life with his duties as an AEGIS agent. Therefore he lacks intimate relationships in his life. Supercape Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 This looks good! I trust this wont play to Iron-Age uber-angst. A few mechanical issues: Darkness Control Array looks off... It looks like a 16 PP Array (to accomodate Obscure 8), with 4 APs, for 20PP, but you could do it other ways, in any case, it looks off as it is... Shadow Form, I guess in an Alternate Form Container (best label it as such). Which is Sustained as default (unless Permanent). You have bought it up to COntinuous, which by my calculations costs 36 PP, not 28 (for a 30 PP container), meaning you have 1 PP Spare in the container (but you fall short 8 PP for buying the container). On that note, Immunity 1 (Suffocation) means Immunity to a particular type of suffocation (the classic one being drowning). As you have a spare PP in this container I suggest pushing it to Immunnity 2 (Suffocation). I would suggest you get some language skills - I presume he speaks German as a native language. Without any other languages not speaking English is probably not a good idea for Role - Playing... Otherwise looks good, but I suspect you will need to shave off some PP somewhere to buy that container.
