trollthumper
All right, Knowledge (pop culture) checks (or straight INT checks, if you have Eidetic Memory) to realize who this D-Gray is. Also, Knowledge (technology) to figure out what's really going on. Cannonade gets an 18. Link to comment

trollthumper
All right, here's what Miss Americana, Citizen, and Cannonade know about D-Gray: D-Gray was a prominent Freedom City rapper who was shot dead in 2001. Needless to say, he really should not be taking the stage in his condition. Here's what Voltage knows: D-Gray was a rapper from The Fens who was one of the pioneers of East Coast gangster rap, but eventually switched over a message of social justice. Of course, old enemies die hard, and he was shot down in a suspected gang hit in 2001, with the perps still at large. And here's what Citizen realizes about D-Gray's appearance: One hologram recognizes another real quick. As for Miss A and Voltage: This is a very familiar trick, so familiar it's old school. The Pepper's ghost technique is used to produce the illusion of objects appearing, disappearing, transforming or being where they aren't. It's the same principle used to produce the ghosts in the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland. Odds are there's a hidden room either off-stage or under the stage producing the D-Gray hologram and looping in the audio. Link to comment
trollthumper
Suddenly, robots attack! Everyone gets a Hero Point from the fact that large numbers of innocents are endangered by the robot army. For the scary robo-lady, henceforth known as Chimera, we'll be using AA's Robot Psychic build at PL14 with no DEF/TOU trade-offs and the Impervious stripped out- which means damage caps to match, +11 Melee/+14 Psychic Powers for Attack, +14 DEF, +14 TOU, +9 REF, +14 WIS. For the robo-soldiers, we'll be using AA's Robotic Policeman as built. Chimera goes on 7. Drones go on 11, 11, 9, and 9. Cannonade goes on 12. Link to comment
trollthumper
And here's how it goes. Miss Americana: 20, Unharmed, 6 HP Citizen: 19, Unharmed, 5 HP Cannonade: 12, Unharmed, 4 HP Drone 1: 11, Unharmed, 0 HP Drone 2: 11, Unharmed, 0 HP Drone 3: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Drone 4: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Chimera: 7, Unharmed, 0 HP Voltage: 4, Unharmed, 4 HP Miss Americana is up first. Electra
Miss A will use her move action to take to the skies! Standard action will be to blast Chimera with her patriotic laser beams. It's a 27. DC 29 toughness save if it hits. Link to comment
trollthumper
Chimera resists pretty well. Citizen is up next. Link to comment

trollthumper
I can rule that since Citizen is wholly familiar with cyberspace physics, and D-Gray is not, establishing a hold is an easy enough matter. A Diplomacy roll might definitely help, though. And, as the role overseen in Chat was a 19, the Indifferent D-Gray goes to Friendly. Miss Americana: 20, Unharmed, 6 HP Citizen: 19, Unharmed, 5 HP Cannonade: 12, Unharmed, 4 HP Drone 1: 11, Unharmed, 0 HP Drone 2: 11, Unharmed, 0 HP Drone 3: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Drone 4: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Chimera: 7, Unharmed, 0 HP Voltage: 4, Unharmed, 4 HP Cannonade is up next. He sees the drones standing before him and moves to intercept, seeing as Miss A is busy with Chimera. He's going to unleash a Shockwave that will hit the drones, who are clustered tight in fire-team formation. That's DC21 Reflex to halve and DC26 Toughness base for all them. 1 and 4 make it, meaning the effective Toughness save for them is DC21. Funny enough, 1 and 4 are both Dazed and Staggered, while 2 and 3 are Bruised. Miss Americana: 20, Unharmed, 6 HP Citizen: 19, Unharmed, 5 HP Cannonade: 12, Unharmed, 4 HP Drone 1: 11, Unharmed, Dazed (Cannonade's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Drone 2: 11, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 3: 9, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 4: 9, Unharmed, Dazed (Cannonade's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Chimera: 7, Unharmed, 0 HP Voltage: 4, Unharmed, 4 HP Drone 1 misses its turn, but Drone 2 and 3 go. Now that they aren't allowed to attack the vulnerable meatbags, they go for Cannonade. Drone 2 Power Attacks for -5/+5 on the Blast w/ Autofire setting of its taser, and hits, beating Cannonade's Defense by 2. Which means he's got to make a DC26 Toughness save. Which he does. Drone 3 decides to try a Stun instead, doing the same -5/+5 Power Attack. That also hits, and Cannonade needs to make a DC21 Fortitude save. Which he also does. Once they do that, they decide to move past him into the crowd, Chimera, meanwhile, focuses her attention on Miss Americana. I am assuming that Miss A's Immunity (mental effects) means the robo-body serves as a buffer to protect Gina against mental effects. So when she tries to Mind Control Miss A, it auto-fails. And with a move action left, she likewise takes to the skies, trying to engage Miss A in a dogfight. Voltage is up next. Link to comment
Thunder King
First thing Thomas is going to do is look at them and see if he can find anything out about them online; 41 He's specifically going to see if he can find any weaknesses or vulnerabilities they have. What I do with the rest of his turn depends on what he can find out online. Link to comment
trollthumper
The robots bear heavy similarities to those deployed in an attack in San Francisco earlier this year... and an obscure supers-related blog points out similarities between them and the ones Talos used to attack the Centery Bridge a few years back. It's also noted that they're heavily EMP-shielded and protected against overload, but a focused magnetic burst that gets past the shielding could do some real damage. Link to comment
Thunder King
Thomas is going to book over near the stage and hide, assuming the commotion will cover him. Then he'll Quick Change into his costume. Then I'll surge him to get a second move action so he can teleport nearer to the drones and then attack one; 27 Assuming a hit, that's a DC25 TOU save Link to comment
trollthumper
Drone 2 makes its Toughness save, sadly. Miss Americana: 20, Unharmed, 6 HP Citizen: 19, Unharmed, 5 HP Cannonade: 12, Unharmed, 4 HP Drone 1: 11, Unharmed, Dazed (Cannonade's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Drone 2: 11, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 3: 9, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 4: 9, Unharmed, Dazed (Cannonade's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Chimera: 7, Unharmed, 0 HP Voltage: 4, Unharmed, 4 HP Top of the round! Miss A is up next. Link to comment
Electra
Miss A will launch an unarmed attack to grapple Chimera. She is switching from Blast to her Enhanced Strength/Flight AP. First roll is a natural one! Booo Spending an HP Second roll is a 28, yay! Grapple Check is a 40. Edit: And since that renders Chimera bound and helpless, she's going to spend another HP and surge to do an unarmed attack, power attacking for 2. Result is 18, DC 31 toughness save. Link to comment
trollthumper
And Chimera is Bound, and hurting. Miss Americana: 20, Unharmed, 4 HP Citizen: 19, Unharmed, 5 HP Cannonade: 12, Unharmed, 4 HP Drone 1: 11, Unharmed, Dazed (Cannonade's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Drone 2: 11, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 3: 9, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 4: 9, Unharmed, Dazed (Cannonade's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Chimera: 7, Bruised x1, Dazed (Miss A's Action), Bound, 0 HP Voltage: 4, Unharmed, 4 HP Citizen is up next. Avenger Assembled
Some questions: Can Sharl pull 'D-Gray' out of the system and into the real world so they can share a holoemitter? If not, can he stunt something off his Tronik Array (I'm thinking a Create Object to represent making some kind of room for him) to keep him safe in the system while he goes to help Miss A and Voltage? Avenger Assembled
Citizen readies an action: a +5 Corrosion Power Attack 12 Which actually manages to be a miss! I'll just surge and have him reroll that. 20 Good thing that one was with the HP! That's a DC 23 Reflex save for the bound and helpless Chimera, with the possibility of losing up to 8 Tou depending on how badly she fails it, then a DC 23 Tou save in the aftermath. It will go off if "Chimera tries to break Miss A's grapple". Link to comment
trollthumper
The attack is readied. Miss Americana: 20, Unharmed, 4 HP Citizen: 19, Unharmed, 4 HP Cannonade: 12, Unharmed, 4 HP Drone 1: 11, Unharmed, Dazed (Cannonade's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Drone 2: 11, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 3: 9, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 4: 9, Unharmed, Dazed (Cannonade's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Chimera: 7, Bruised x1, Dazed (Miss A's Action), Bound, 0 HP Voltage: 4, Unharmed, 4 HP Cannonade is up next. He decides to take on Drone 1, delivering a solid blow. It hits, necessitating a DC26 Toughness save. It takes a Bruise. Miss Americana: 20, Unharmed, 4 HP Citizen: 19, Unharmed, 4 HP Cannonade: 12, Unharmed, 4 HP Drone 1: 11, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP Drone 2: 11, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 3: 9, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 4: 9, Unharmed, Staggered, 0 HP Chimera: 7, Bruised x1, Dazed (Miss A's Action), Bound, 0 HP Voltage: 4, Unharmed, 4 HP The Drones are up. Drones 1 and 4 are Staggered, and decide to train their fire on Cannonade, taking a -5/+5 Power Attack. Oh, that is just not fair. Their Autofire ranks are capped at +3, but still, that's a DC33 Toughness save on both. First save's a total failure, so Hero Point. That's better, resulting in a simple Bruise. It can't last. Yeah, this will require another point. Another Bruise. Miss Americana: 20, Unharmed, 4 HP Citizen: 19, Unharmed, 4 HP Cannonade: 12, Bruised x2, 2 HP Drone 1: 11, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP Drone 2: 11, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 3: 9, Bruised x1, 0 HP Drone 4: 9, Unharmed, Staggered, 0 HP Chimera: 7, Bruised x1, Dazed (Miss A's Action), Bound, 0 HP Voltage: 4, Unharmed, 4 HP Drone 2 takes aim at Citizen, while Drone 3 aims at Voltage. They both miss. Drone 3 really misses. Chimera is still Dazed and thus cannot do much of anything. So Voltage is up next. Link to comment
