Gizmo
Wail Standard Action: Sonic Wail vs. Carrion Crow Priest; All-Out Attack 5, Power Attack 5. (1d20+8=27) I'll even spend an HP to pick up Improved Critical for a round to bring that up to DC 42 with effective Knockback 60. Link to comment
trollthumper
And the Carrion Crow explodes in a cloud of feathers and rotten meat. Bang a gong, we are on. The four remaining Carrion Crows will be played by my Decay Controller build, all as built. The Crows go on 15, 14, 10, and 9. Temperance goes on 15. Link to comment

trollthumper
Ah, and almost forgot - Doctor Metropolis will be played by my Modern Animist build as is, and he goes on 17. Gizmo
Wail's only got 2HP left, for the sake of argument, since he spent one on Improved Critical. Wail Standard Action: Fearsome Roar. That's a DC 23 Will Save against Emotion Control [Fear] and the worst of Str/Dex against Trip against Contested Trip Check. (1d20+13=27) Move Action: Leap into melee range. Link to comment
trollthumper
All right. The Crows all pass their Will save, and after all failing their Reflex saves, all hit the ground. Wail: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Doctor Metropolis: 17, Unharmed, 0 HP Temperance: 15, Unharmed, 0 HP Carrion Crow 1: 15, Unharmed, Prone, 0 HP Carrion Crow 2: 14, Unharmed, Prone, 0 HP Carrion Crow 3: 10, Unharmed, Prone, 0 HP Carrion Crow 4: 9, Unharmed, Prone, 0 HP Doctor Metropolis rises as a Move Action, glances upon the scene, and calls up a horrendous Blast (single target, not Area Burst, as Wail is right in the middle of that). He takes aim at fires at the first Crow. He misses, as the Crow is Prone. Temperance, meanwhile, takes one Move to close with Melee range and tries to launch a Blast at one of the Crows. She, likewise, just misses. The Crows starting getting up, one-by-one, and start attacking. Crow 1 tosses a Fatigue attack at Wail and hits, necessitating a DC23 Fortitude save. Crow 2 tosses a Blast at Doctor Metropolis and misses. Crow 3 unleashes a Blast on Temperance, and hits, necessitating a DC25 Toughness save. She takes a Bruise. Crow 4 attempts to Fatigue Doctor Metropolis. He hits, necessitating a DC20 Fort save. And Doctor Metropolis is Fatigued. Wail: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Doctor Metropolis: 17, Unharmed, Fatigued, 0 HP Temperance: 15, Bruised x1, 0 HP Carrion Crow 1: 15, Unharmed, 0 HP Carrion Crow 2: 14, Unharmed, 0 HP Carrion Crow 3: 10, Unharmed, 0 HP Carrion Crow 4: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Wail is up next. Gizmo
Wail Standard Action: Sonic Scream. For ease of reference, that's: Damage 13 (Extras: Area [General, Cone, 130ft], Linked [stun]) [24PP] + Stun 9 (Extras: Area [General, Cone], Linked [Damage]) [27PP] (Sonic Scream) [53PP] DC 28 Toughness and DC 19 Fortitude Saves following the Reflex Save for the Area Attack. He'll try to catch as many of the crows in that as he can without hitting Temperance or Doctor Metropolis. Let me know how that goes; it may be worth Surging to get a punch in there, too. trollthumper
That will catch three of the Crows, as it stands. They all fail the Reflex save on the Damage, then are Dazed and Bruised, Dazed and Staggered, and Bruised, respectively. Then comes the Stun! The first one succeeds, the other two fail. Then come the Fort saves, and the first one saves at the reduced level, the second one saves, and the third one is Dazed. Wail: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Doctor Metropolis: 17, Unharmed, Fatigued, 0 HP Temperance: 15, Bruised x1, 0 HP Carrion Crow 1: 15, Bruised x1, Dazed (Wail's Action), 0 HP Carrion Crow 2: 14, Unharmed, Dazed (Wail's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Carrion Crow 3: 10, Bruised x1, Dazed (Wail's Action), 0 HP Carrion Crow 4: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Doctor Metropolis starts getting his power back, and is now at PL11. He once more aims at the first Carrion Crow, and hits. DC26 Toughness save, and the crow flies. Wail: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Doctor Metropolis: 17, Unharmed, Fatigued, 0 HP Temperance: 15, Bruised x1, 0 HP Carrion Crow 2: 14, Unharmed, Dazed (Wail's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Carrion Crow 3: 10, Bruised x1, Dazed (Wail's Action), 0 HP Carrion Crow 4: 9, Unharmed, 0 HP Temperance, meanwhile, decides to take aim at the 2nd Carrion Crow with her Blast w/ Autofire. It still does not hit. The one Carrion Crow that's still active at this point goes for her with a Fatigue. It hits, requiring a DC20 Fortitude save from her. She succeeds. Wail is up next. Gizmo
Wail Standard Action: Unarmed Attack vs. Crow 3. (1d20+8=24) That's a DC 28 Toughness Save. Improved Grab: Opposed Grapple Check. (1d20+23=39) He's going for a pin here. Improved Grapple lets him hold the crow with one hand, leaving the other free and Improved Pin gives the crow a -4 penalty on trying to escape. Extra Effort: Surge for Standard Action. Standard Action: Unarmed Attack vs. Crow 4. (1d20+8=27) Improved Grab: Opposed Grapple Check. (1d20+23=35) Link to comment
trollthumper
Both attacks hit. Carrion Crow 3 takes another Bruise and is Bound; Carrion Crow 4 takes a Bruise, is Dazed, and is Bound. Wail: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Doctor Metropolis: 17, Unharmed, Fatigued, 0 HP Temperance: 15, Bruised x1, 0 HP Carrion Crow 2: 14, Unharmed, Staggered, 0 HP Carrion Crow 3: 10, Bruised x2, Bound, 0 HP Carrion Crow 4: 9, Bruised x1, Dazed (Wail's Action), Bound, 0 HP Doctor Metropolis realizes that since two of the combatants are Bound, he shall take aim at Carrion Crow 2 with the Blast once more. Oh hello, Improved Critical, nice to see you. DC32 Toughness for the Crow, and... it takes a Bruise. Oh, well. Wail: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Doctor Metropolis: 17, Unharmed, Fatigued, 0 HP Temperance: 15, Bruised x1, 0 HP Carrion Crow 2: 14, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP Carrion Crow 3: 10, Bruised x2, Bound, 0 HP Carrion Crow 4: 9, Bruised x1, Dazed (Wail's Action), Bound, 0 HP Temperance, meanwhile, decides to take advantage of the Bound and unleash her Blast on Crow 3. She'll get a -4 for firing into melee, but otherwise should be good. That hits, at least, as its Defense is 5. So, DC23 Toughness. The Crow is Dazed and Staggered. Wail: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Doctor Metropolis: 17, Unharmed, Fatigued, 0 HP Temperance: 15, Bruised x1, 0 HP Carrion Crow 2: 14, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP Carrion Crow 3: 10, Bruised x2, Bound, Dazed (Temperance's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Carrion Crow 4: 9, Bruised x1, Dazed (Wail's Action), Bound, 0 HP Carrion Crow 2 is the only one able to act, and he shoots Doctor Metropolis with the Vampiric Blast. Ouch. That's a DC30 Toughness save for Doc, which he makes. Wail is up next. Link to comment
Gizmo
Wail Alright, this is going with the spirit of the grappling rules a little more that the letter, but I'm going to have Wail knock the heads of the two crows he's grappling together. He should be able to damage a foe he had pinned, which he does, so I figure as a full round action he ought to be able to just sort of smack them into each other. If that's okay with you, troll, it'd be a DC 33 Toughness Save for each of them with Power Attack 5. Link to comment
trollthumper
That's fine with me. Crow 3 takes another Bruise and is Dazed, while Crow 4 is Dazed and Staggered. Wail: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Doctor Metropolis: 17, Unharmed, Fatigued, 0 HP Temperance: 15, Bruised x1, 0 HP Carrion Crow 2: 14, Bruised x1, Staggered, 0 HP Carrion Crow 3: 10, Bruised x3, Bound, Dazed (Wail's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Carrion Crow 4: 9, Bruised x1, Dazed (Wail's Action), Staggered, Bound, 0 HP Doctor Metropolis once more aims his Blast at Carrion Crow 2. He hits, necessitating a DC27 Toughness save. It explodes. Wail: 18, Unharmed, 2 HP Doctor Metropolis: 17, Unharmed, Fatigued, 0 HP Temperance: 15, Bruised x1, 0 HP Carrion Crow 3: 10, Bruised x3, Bound, Dazed (Wail's Action), Staggered, 0 HP Carrion Crow 4: 9, Bruised x1, Dazed (Wail's Action), Staggered, Bound, 0 HP Temperance, meanwhile, unleashes another burst of hail at the bound Crow 3, taking the -4 for firing into melee. It hits the Crow, given that its Defense is effectively 5, and she gets the full +4 from Autofire. DC27 Toughness save... and it explodes as well. At this point, I'm going to say Wail can easily take out the last Crow. Link to comment
