Electra
Wander will attack Wildcard, figuring that a villainous luck controller is much more dangerous than the bound Devil Ray. Move action acrobatic bluff, DC 27 with skill mastery. Follow it up with a regular charge attack that will drop her defense by 2. 1d20+12=18. Ugh! Anyway, on the off-chance that hits, it's DC 25 toughness. Link to comment
trollthumper
Wildcard sees through it, is not caught flat-footed, and thus avoids the attack. Vanguard decides to get his own Startle in as a Move Action; between Skill Mastery and Fast Startle, that's auto-24. Wildcard just manages to beat it, but Vanguard opens fire anyway. The slugs hit for Autofire, meaning Wildcard needs to make a DC23 Toughness save. And he's down. Edge: Seized Initiative, Unharmed, 3 HP Wander: 24, Unharmed, 3 HP Vanguard: 24, Unharmed, 0 HP Cannonade: 18, Unharmed, 3 HP Devil Ray: 15, Bruised x2, Dazed (Edge's Action), Staggered, Bound, 0 HP Midnight: 8, Unharmed, 3 HP Cannonade is up next. He has not moved from Devil Ray's position, which means he can take a coup de grace as a full-round action. The attack hits - you never know, I could have rolled a 1 - so Devil Ray needs to make a DC31 Toughness save, and if he passes that, a DC21 Fortitude save. As Devil Ray is Staggered, he goes down on the first punch. We're out of rounds, which means now might be a good time to find out Vanguard's deal. Link to comment

trollthumper
Edge would know that Vanguard's certainly telling the truth about his career in New York - first appearance noted six months ago by a hero-spotter blog on the New York Daily News website, and the encounter with Doctor Stratos is there. And the national Veterans Archive does list a Jay Milonakis, discharged in keeping with Vanguard's timeline. Link to comment

trollthumper
What Midnight gets regarding the Lady Celtic scroll: Not much on its actual use in history, but the plaque on the glass case relates how it was used during a necromantic incursion on the Eastern Front. What Edge gets on the Lady Celtic scroll: There were stories of how it was used to undo the working that summoned an army of dead SS to the front lines in Poland. The scroll was a counterspell put together by Lady Celtic to sever all the necromantic baggage keeping the dead tied to this plane of existence. As for where Medea is, here's what Midnight gets: There's a part of the Fens where no one seems to be going these days. Well, not "no one," but those who'd just casually walk through have described "a bad feeling" - like they were about to be mugged - that compelled them to take the long way around. And as for Edge: There's an abandoned movie theater in the Fens that's drawn some attention in past nights for weird flashes of light, but no one feels like getting near it. You'd thought of passing it along to Nick Cimitiere, but this sounds like it could be Medea's work. Link to comment

Electra
Man, I hate to spend an HP this early in the fight, but being bruised and dazed is not a good option either. Spending an HP! 34, no damage. Wander will make a Disarm check against Jason. The attack succeeds with a 29 Now a contested Strength check. Wander's modifier is 12, plus 3 superstrength, plus 5 from the Inspire. That's a 32. Link to comment
