Azuth65 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Victoria Knight stood atop the foreclosed and empty house that she knew would in all likelihood have a meth lab springing up inside of it any day now. But for now, she was focused instead on the house across the street. It was the nicest on the block, which admittedly was not saying much but she figured it had something to do with the men she had seen carrying guns roaming about the property. Her patrol had lead her to this section of town after seeing some suspicious looking men, speaking in Russian loading an SUV with plastic bins. She would would have thought nothing of it until one man dropped his bin and dozens of small plastic bags filled with either green plant remains or white powder.
Azuth65 Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Just as Wisp was about to make her move to relocate across the street a brilliant streak of light shot across the sky before dropping down into the driveway, crushing one of the dark colored sport utility vehicles like an empty beer can beneath a stomping boot. The guards yelled something in Russian the teleporter could not make out from this distance. Cursing to herself she took a deep breath and willed herself across the street, appearing on the far side of the truck in a crouch surrounded by a plume of bi-colored smoke she hoped to get a better look at what crushed the vehicle.
Azuth65 Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Rising from the wreckage stood a masculine form, covered head to toe in steel grey armor. On one shoulder the hammer and sickle of Soviet Russian's flag had been stamped into the metal but the indentation had been painted over with the flag of the Russian Federation. <<"Stand down and you will not be harmed,">> the armored suit boomed in Russian, <<"I am here for Vladimir Petrovitch. Russian officials have approved his extradition back to Moscow.">> The only response the armored man received was a short hail of gunfire from the half dozen men on the lawn. Wisp had to dodge a few bullets that missed their target and sailed past her to strike an empty car a few houses down. Looking around she assessed the situation and readied herself for a fight.
Azuth65 Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Wisp dove into action but the house's guards were well trained and her various punches and kicks were either intercepted, blocked, or outright dodged. The young teleporter heard a few snide comments from her foes amounting to her needing more practice. Returning to her starting point she was breathing hard and a scowl was plastered across her face. Looking up at the armored figure she barked out in Russian, <<"You couldn't have waited twenty freakin' minutes? My teammates are on the way, we could have done this without giving them a chance to shoot back!">>
Azuth65 Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 The armored figure lifted his arms, a pair of energy blasts shot from his palms and impacted squarely in the chest of the largest and bulkiest mook on guard. His shirt was ruined and his chest had some minor burns but he otherwise seemed to have survived. He grunted before falling to his knees and then to his side, breathing slowly but steadily. Hearing the girl's ranting he turned slightly to get her into his view, <<"I do apologize but I am on a tight schedule. Besides, these thugs won't be a problem for much longer.">> In answer, the remaining five guards opened fire upon the pair of heroes, each of their bullets either clanging harmlessly off his armor or biting into the ruins of the car.
Azuth65 Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Wisp shook her head, the man in the armor was right about one thing, the five goons would not be posing a threat for much longer. Vanishing in another cloud of smoke she attacked the remaining upright mooks with powerful punches. Her second target was left groaning in the ground after a particularly precise back-handed swing caught him in the nose, the cartilage snapping with a crunch she hated to admit was fairly satisfying. She returned back behind the car's remains, taking cover behind what had once been the front wheels and engine block.
Azuth65 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 Wisp charged forward from her cover, flipping over the bullet riddled car she vanished mid-jump but unfortunately for her, the mooks seemed to be expecting her to teleport in and attack them from behind. Each swing of her fists or sweep of her leg she made only connected with empty air as her opponents quickly scrambled to the side and away from where they had been when she had peered at the battlefield. "Damnit, these guys are either really good or I'm getting too predictable," she muttered as she landed back behind the vehicle.
Azuth65 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 Nikolai watched the guards scramble from the teenaged teleporter's attacks before raising his arms once again, his palms glowing before they erupted in a blast of light. The twin beams struck another of Vladimir's hired goons, just after he had escaped a kick from Wisp that would have caught him in the ribs. The last two hired guns leveled their weapons and fired at the man in the armor, their shots bouncing harmlessly off his armor when they even connected in the first place. <<"Last chance, stand down.">>
Azuth65 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 The remaining three mooks looked at how ineffective their weapons had been against the armored Russian and the teleporting teenager before the dropped them and ran from the property as fast as they could. Nikolai allowed them to go, turn towards the house. The servos in the joints of his suit whirred and hummed with each step towards the front door. Rather than knocking or even reaching for the knob he simply clenched a fist and brought it down against the wood, shattering the door into splinters that sprayed across the empty living room.
Azuth65 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 <<"Hey!">> Wisp cried as she moved up to the mechanically encased man, <<"Just who the heck are you?" I can see the hammer and sickle still stamped into your shoulder plate. I've heard of a man in Moscow's law enforcement who wore armor such as yours but I had been told by a very reliable source he would never step foot on American soil.">> She cringed as his fist blew open the door before she peered around him and eyed the empty but lavishly furnished living room.
