Fox
(23:57:05) Fox: (whispers to AvengerAssembled) Hmmmm. Does GK 'see' anything weird when he uses his Detect Earth? Big voids underground, that sort of thing. (00:01:49) AvengerAssembled: (whispers) He sees something permeating the soil beneath the town near the water table; something that's _like_ gold but somehow terribly _not_, with filigree traces that seem to lead back towards the scene of the supposed meteor strike like spreading fungus. horngeek
Going to let the GM post next, partially because I can't think of anything to say. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Rather than yet another fight with low-level bad guys, just go ahead and write your heroes mopping up the thralls and heading into the jail. Don't worry, combat is coming! Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
DC 20 Life Sciences or History to recognize an Aurochs Link to comment
horngeek
Not spending a Hero Point. I really should buy Vector Jack-of-All-Trades or something, but... *shrugs* Something to do later. Vector knows not what this is! Link to comment
Fox
Yeah, out of reach of both GK and Tiamat. Link to comment
Electra
Stesha recognizes the hell out of that aurochs. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Fleur de Joie recognizes the aurouch as an ancestral species of cattle, long extinct, though this one is of course much, much bigger than any of those. meanwhile, Tiamat recognizes the divine cattle of Apollo, the great sun-beasts of the sky herd! This one is being wicked! Initiative time! The giant cow, which has the stats of my dragon at PL 13, goes on 8 Link to comment
Fox
Initiative Rolls (1d20 + 0=18, 1d20 + 1=3) GK is feeling especially spry, and goes on 18. Tiamat is busy finishing up punchin' fools in the parkinglot, and goes on 3. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Fleur knows to stay away from the eyes, and maybe focus on the udders. She also knows that, if this _is_ a cattle of the gods, its weakness is liable to be social rather than physical: it somehow got here through the Pact, and if so perhaps there is a normal cow deep down inside this one. Electra
Fleur also goes on 11, but her modifier is lower, so she will be after Vector Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Initiative: Gaian 'eating his wheaties' Knight: 18 Vector: 11 Fleur: 11 Divine Cow of Apollo: 8 Teagan: 3 GK is up Link to comment
Fox
GK...goes...first? Does not compute! Move action: Fly! GK tries to put as much distance between himself and the jail as he can without getting any closer to the cow. Standard action: Throw a rock at it! Ranged Attack Roll vs. Big Bovine (autofire) (1d20 + 12=29) DC27 Toughness save, +1 for every 2 his attack roll exceeded the cow's defense, up to DC33. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
TOU of 18, DEF of 7 That exceeds the DC of 17 to hit by 12, and so he gets that full bonus. 24 Bruised and stunned. Go ahead and have an HP, Fox, and I'll just have him take that bruise. Vector is up. Link to comment
horngeek
Vector's going for the nice and simple here- a vector-enhanced punch! To hit! Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
For ease of play, I'll say it's within thirty feet move if you run right out the door and punch the nearest leg, sure. Tou vs 27: 32 Unhurt, yowsa. Fleur is up. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Fleur spends her turn rescuing civilians. Have an HP for doing the heroic thing. The Great Cow is up. It uses its solar vision to blast Vector! That's a DC 23 Reflex save for half (DC 28 if you fail the save, 21 if you make it), depending on your evasion. Link to comment
horngeek
Okay. She's currently running +10 on both Defence and Toughness. Reflex d20+8 vs DC23 Reflex Save (made it with a result of 28) Toughness d20+10 vs DC21 (failed with result of 13) Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
OK, with that roll she is bruised and dazed. Teagan is up as soon as I post IC. Link to comment
Fox
Move action: Dragon time! Standard action: Demoralize that cow! Intimidate Check vs. Aurochs (demoralize) (1d20 + 22=25) :| Why, Teagan? Why? Considering her bonus, though, I'll let that stand for now. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
31 Curse that nigh-fearless cow! New round; GK is up. Link to comment
Fox
GK doesn't want me to be a mechanically contributing player, because he's a jerk and a boy scout, so he's going to provide cover for the hurt and dazed Vector. Full-round action! Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Obekaybe, Vector is up Link to comment
