Ari
Exactly. Show Kat how Sam learned all through her life there, and it will all come together. Link to comment
Curious Key
Well yeah, and Kat just hasn't had to do subtle, at all! She is very frustrated that she can't just go up and punch this lady to solve the problem. Link to comment
Blue Rose
Meanwhile, Kit is entirely capable of doing just that, but is smart enough not to. More Stealth, more take 10, more 27. Same illusion doing different things. Take 10 on Bluff for 23. DC16 Will. Expanding on the illusion (it's a 100' AoE, which should more than engulf the room); the rafters are in the AoE for my illusion, so I make my anthropomorphic smokey interpretively dancing smoke thing. Ari
Sense Motive roll, DC23: 27. Huh. DC16 Will save to realize its illusive nature: 13. Reroll(+1HP to both Warp and Kit) : 23. she realizes that it is, in fact, an illusory image. Moving down to the central aisle, and making an image of herself on the stage in front of the illusion of Kat, saying hateful things. Round 5 Warp: Unharmed, 2HP Kit: Unharmed, 3HP Silver Scream: Unharmed-GM Warp's up! Link to comment
Blue Rose
And here I was about to use the illusion to say hurtful things to the ghost. Link to comment
Ari
I'm sure Lauren will appreciate an intelligent conversationalist. Link to comment
Blue Rose
Perhaps, but it undercuts the route those harmful things were gonna say. Including much taunting of her apparent inability to affect the mortal world, in order to get her to tip her hand. Link to comment
Blue Rose
I have a horrible, horrible idea for stalling the ghost for a long, long time. Problem is, it doesn't really involve Warp. And Kat would actually be more useful for it. Since Kit's ability to cast illusions is more than enough to fill the entire room, I'm thinking she just puts on a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream after a little more back and forth and/or her learning Scream's already figured out the illusion, going with the angle of, 'Even if it's all an illusion, do you really care? It's all about the dream in the end. All hail Queen Titania!' Which could lead to a putting-the-spirit-to-rest route (rather than the stall-'til-dawn), perhaps with Warp going back to Kat and stepping into a role to either get close to the real Scream or bring life to the production with actual acting. Ari
After talking it over with Freely Seek, they suggested that Kit alert Warp to what she's about to try and pull, possibly via the friendly cartoon fox-person? Personally, I am in favor of that plan. It uses illusions in an interesting way and gives a good platform for either a good talking-down or sneak-attack. Link to comment
Curious Key
I'll be delaying Kat's action until after Kit's, since right now she's waiting for this ghost-fox. Because it's a ghost fox and there's a fake Kat sitting down on the stage and she is confused. Link to comment
Blue Rose
Cool. And I talked with FS about how Kat will get in on the act, a little differently. But the plan kicks in after Kit realizes her illusion's cover is blown. Right right now, she's still in digging-for-information mode. Bluff 23 to trick her into affecting something real, if she can. Ari
DC23 Bluff check: 15. Heh. Anyway, she falls for it. Attempt to Counter Kit's Illusion: 27. Link to comment
Blue Rose
Can't beat that. 1d20+6=22 And a shame, too. Pretty good roll to let go to waste. Link to comment
Ari
Round six. Warp: Unharmed, 2HP Kit: Unharmed, 3HP Silver Scream: Unharmed-GM You're up Freely! Link to comment
Curious Key
Now that Arich has suggested it, I now realize that THIS would be the best place to announce that I was delaying, instead of trying to catch everyone in chat. Feeling dumb now. Link to comment
Blue Rose
1d20=10 I have no idea what I'm rolling for this one, but there's a d20 for it. ^^U Same illusion power, making a bunch of new illusions. Same save. If it's bluff, 23. If it's charisma, 15. If it's diplomacy, 21. Something else is... something else. Stealth is still 27. Link to comment
Ari
You're tying to talk her down with an image of glory, so that would be a Charisma roll. DC15 Sense Motive save: 20. Notice roll: 13. Failed. Silver Scream sustains her Illusion, and adds onto it a maze around the exits. Move action up onto the stage above her Illusion. Round seven, Unchanged. Warp: Unharmed, 2HP Kit: Unharmed, 3HP Silver Scream: Unharmed-GM Warp's up, want to take any action Freely? Link to comment
Curious Key
Can Kat make like a disembodied voice from above? Throw her voice with one roll so that it's harder for SS to pinpoint the source and do a perform roll to add to the atmosphere, for instance? Link to comment
Ari
If memory serves you do that with a Bluff roll. A Perform roll might help there too. Link to comment
Blue Rose
Though really, Titania might not have been the best of choices. The queen of fairies, sure; but most of the scenes Kat remembered from Midsummer Night's Dream were of her making a fool of herself after getting drugged by Oberon. Not why Sam chose her, but definitely why I chose her. :P Link to comment
Curious Key
I guess it's a good thing that worked then, since I meant to save that post to drafts and wait till I heard back, not just up and post it. Erk. Sorry. Yeah, this is gonna be her only action this turn; let's roll ourselves some bluff. Bluff Roll: 13 You know what? That's not okay. I'm going to spend a hero point to do that again as an improved roll. Bluff Roll: 15 (Scales up to 25 cause improved roll) We can do better. Burning my last hero point. Bluff Roll: 27 The end result is 27. Link to comment
Blue Rose
Oh dear, no need to use that second hero point! Especially since Sam is going to use her illusions to help you out with that. Take 1 to auto-succeed on Aid Another, using illusions to up the echo factor and make it hard to pin. Link to comment
Ari
Teamwork! More importantly, Freely Seek, you actually CAN'T use a Hero Point twice for the same effect. Link to comment
Ari
Anyway, that's a DC32 Sense Motive check for Silver Scream. She cannot make that, but let's see if she gets a natural 20: 19. Nope! Notice roll: 3. Nay! Silver Scream will now try and use Bluff to try and Trick Kat into showing herself: 13. Reroll(+1HP for both): 29. Link to comment
Curious Key
Kat's gonna try being savvy enough at being tricksy to sense SS being tricksy. Bluff Roll: 30 It works! Link to comment
