As Freddy came out into the hallway, the two hulking forms of the Battle Brothers both turned to regard the short fighter. "Righty and lefty huh?" Said the blond Battle Brother. "You could say the same about us!"  He then stepped forward, his left hand, which had the unusual metal bracer on that forearm, launching out in a punch aimed at Freddy's head.

But the skilled pugilist easily ducked under the attack, weaving away as the second Battle Brother closed as well. "You and your friends are going to regret coming down here!" He said as he also launched a punch at Freddy, but it was easily blocked aside by the superhero private eye.

Look over at the young man Lucy managed a friendly smile.

"Well you're a sight for sore eyes. Your mom asked us to find out what happened to you."

She looked around at the new fighters that were entering into the room, it seems they had really stirred up a real hornet’s nest. Adopting a suitable fighting stance she made a few testing blow on one of those newcomers closest to her.

“I guess we’ll have to wait to leave all this behind. Let’s try to keep any trouble to a minimum until I can work on a escape plan.â€

Inside the waiting room, another fighter that had been engaging with Freddy and Crimson Tiger remains in place as the short pugilist moves out into the hall and engages with the Battle Brothers and the red clad heroine is surrounded by other fighters for the moment.  But he watches for an opening with the martial artist.

In the hallway at the door to the room where Diaz was being kept, the fighter who opened the door moves in and closes with Lucy as well.  He delivers a solid punch that likely would have seriously hurt a normal person.  But Lucy barely even registers that she has been hit, as the man winces slightly as he feels as if he has hit a brick wall.

The other fighter near him delivers a kick to Lucy's right side, but it has no more effect that the first attack.

Harry barely heard or saw the sound of crunching fists and knees behind him, although in his minds eye he saw plenty of broken noses, and the slow motion images of powerful fists slamming into shattered teeth.

He was drenched in sweat, and kept on glancing behind him. His worst fears were realised as he saw and heard pursuit.

Years on the force had taught him how to handle himself in a fight. But he was past fourty and past his prime. And his fear simultaneously made him a dangerous fighter and one who seriously doubted his own ability.

He launched himself up the stairs in a state of panic, searching for an exit or a hiding place, and covering himself, ready to throw himself away from any kick or punch that might come his way.

Mali growled. This fight was taking a lot out of her. So many enemies, so little time. She moved in on one opponent, hopping to her right foot, making it look like she was going to come in from the right side. The moment it looked like he moved to intercept, she hopped back, quick as lightning, and popped him on the left side. That had to have hurt a little bit. These guys apparently had never heard of a feint before. An interesting prospect.

The hulking form of the Mess, bristling with swollen muscles, looked much more intimidating. He sized up the opposition. Even whammed up with his blood...

"I like a challenge" he said defiantly, and truthfully.

Thing was, there was a limit even to his bravado. Things were getting out of control here, and he wondered just how stupid he was going to be. Just how much could he take on? People were gonna get hurt. And here he was pumped up full of bravado and a boxers ego.

These thoughts whizzed through his brain, seeping regret, but he didn't have time for it. He stepped up, stepped sideways, and launched an uppercut. But the nagging feeling that he was doing this for his ego rather than to help people made him half hearted and he knew it. These boys were trained fighters. As good as him. And he knew he didn't have to try and hit them, he could just mash up their blood, give am a bruising from inside that they couldn't dodge or duck or weave. All that stopped him was his sense of pride.

Harry had reached the stairwell back up towards the parking garage where he, Lucy and Freddy had been brought into. He still had no idea where that parking garage was, or what was beyond it, but that did not stop him from continuing to run, especially as he could hear someone running behind him.

The rumpled private investigator began running up the flights of stairs, working to make himself as hard a target as possible as he went. The fighter that had come out of the waiting room to attack him in the hallway came sprinting up after him. "Where do you think you’re goin'?" The man asked as he threw a punch at Harry, which the fleeing PI barely managed to duck.

Down in the waiting room, two of the fighters around Crimson Tiger both made attacks against the martial artist. One was the fighter she had just hit, who swung a jab at her that she was easily able to block.

The other landed a solid roundhouse kick that caught her just under the arm that had blocked the other attack.

In the smaller room Lucy and Diaz were in, Diaz had a surprised look on his face when Lucy mentioned why she was there. But the young man quickly focused back on the situation they were in and the fighter that had moved over to engage him. Diaz made a quick jab and the followed up with a powerful upper cut that caught the other fighter off guard.

The blow landed solidly, knocking the other fighter up off his feet and dropping him on his back on the floor. The fighter was still conscious, but seemed to just barely be, and certainly appeared to be disoriented for the moment.

Back in the waiting room, the third fighter currently engaged with Crimson Tiger threw a left hook at the martial artist as she flinched from the kick from the other fighter. The blow managed to connect with the side of Crimson's head.

The cheap suited thug in the hallway saw Diaz put down one of the fighters and directed another fighter that was in the hall with him towards the Hispanic young man. The fighter rushed in, taking the place of the other downed man and delivered a sidekick to Diaz's right hip. The kick glanced off however, as Diaz twisted at the last minute, hardly fazed by the attack.

"Like a challenge do you?" Stated the blond haired Battle Brother, as he stepped towards Freddy, swinging a large fist at the short pugilist. Jack’s attack was aimed at making Freddy dodge aside, right into the path of Malcom’s already started haymaker.

"We will be sure to give you one!" Finished Malcom, even as his haymaker swung as the moving Freddy. But Freddy was the veteran of dozens of brawls, many with more than one opponent, and he knew full well when he was being set up, and easily recognized this as one such occasion, even with the uncanny timing the two Battle Brothers appeared to have.

At the last minute, Freddy pulled his head back the other way, and Malcom's fist flew harmlessly by.

Whilst Lucy didn’t feel the last round of blow’s her poor dress was starting to show the strain more and more. In fact they must have looked a strange sight this slight slip of a woman in a battered dress fighting thugs twice her size. For her however it was just an ordinary day...

She zigged one way to try to land a blow on the nearest fight and almost managed to miss her opponent completely, luckily for her she correct herself at the last minute managed to land the needed solid blow.

Lucy's punch connects with the fighter that had just run into the room to attack her, sending the man sailing out through the hole she had made in the concrete block wall.  The fighter slammed hard into the opposite wall in the hallway and the fell to the floor unconscious.

The other fighter that was facing her looked rather hesitant now, both between his complete in ability to hurt her earlier, and the ease at which she had sent his companion flying.  But for the moment he held his ground, taking a powerful swing at her, but at the cost of a considerable amount of accuracy, and Lucy was easily able to knock the attack aside.

Back in the waiting room, another fighter was still waiting just beyond the melee Crimson Tiger found herself in the middle of, looking for an opening.

Harry looked left and right at the top of the stairs, and then felt the top of his matted hair, slick with sweat. The fist of his pursuer had passed over it and knocked his hat off.

"You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would ya?" he squealed, forgetting he wasn't wearing glasses.

He couldn't see any obvious exit. He was like a cornered rat - and a cornered rat had to fight back, even if it was just for a moment.

"I'm a lover, not a fighter!" he blurted, lying through his teeth. He was neither.

"And I love you!" he said, falling to his knees in a desperate bluff. That put the macho fool of his guard - for he sprang back up and gave a mighty push that sent his aggressor tumbling back down the stairs - and out of eyeshot.

Harry didn't waste the chance. In the blink of an eye, he was gone, and a shaggy mongrel dog stood in his place.

"Woof woof" he said, in rough English.

Hopefully he wouldn't be recognised. And if he was, he could run faster.

Crimson Tiger knew she couldn't afford to pull her punches in this situation. She had to hit hard, hit fast, and keep it up. She feinted the fighter out of his boots and watched as he overextended his defenses. The moment he left his head exposed, her right leg shot up and delivered a vicious snap kick to the side of his head. She watched him shake his head and lose focus for a split second, but it wasn't enough. Not nearly enough

The Mess had come to a decision. And it was messy.

He didn't like it, no, not one bit. It wasn't fighting fair. And he preferred to fight fair.

But he was a street fighter just as much as a boxer. And fighting fair was the luxury. First in the list was walking out of a fight on your own two legs. Or in this case, his friends. These guys were outnumbering him, and skilled fighters. As good as he was. They knew how to duck, feint and weave. Given time he could have them, but meanwhile Harry was probably into his neck in trouble, and who the hell knew what else was happening.

"Guys, I'd love to fight fair, but you guys just threw away that right when you bust at me all at once..." he apologised, without apologising.

He focussed on the first battle brothers blood, feeling it pump away, and with a hmph of effort, forced it out of the poor guys nose.

The fighter that Harry had sent tumbling down the stairs quickly jumped back to his feet and began bounding back up the stairs.  "You are going to regret that you....hey, where did he go?"  The man exclaimed as he looked around the all but deserted landing.  "And where did you come from?"  He then added, looking down at the dog that was on the landing with confusion and anger on his face.

Back in the hallway, the blond haired Battle Brother jerked slightly as a grunt escaped his lips.  A thin trickle of blood came running out of one nostril, but the otherwise managed to stand up to Bloody Mess' attack.

Inside the waiting room, the fighter Crimson had just hit and another both tried taking swings at her, one aiming a right hook, the other a front kick.  But the martial artist was able to duck under the hook and block the kick with little effort, at least for the moment.

Diaz was slightly slacked jawed as he watched Lucy as she sent one of the fighters she was facing flying through the hole in the wall she had created and out into the hallway.  But the boxer quickly focused back on the other fighter who had hit him earlier.  "You should know better than to face me Anders."  Diaz stated as he delivered a body blow to the other fighter's midsection.  The man grunted slightly, but otherwise stayed on his feet.

"You gotta know you ain' getting' out of here Diaz."  The fighter replied, delivering his own hit to Diaz's right side.  But Diaz was able to clinch with the hit, and took it with little in the way of reaction.

Back in the meeting room, the third fighter on Crimson Tiger managed to land a solid hit to her lower back as she was dodging and blocking the other two attacks.

Jack brushed the back of his hand against his upper lip and glanced at the blood that he wiped up with it.  "Your just full of surprises aren't you?"  He stated as he looked back at Freddy.  The large blond Battle Brother then took a step forward and swung a large fist at the short pugilist.

This time the blow hit, with an audible *WHAM* that echoed in the hallway.  Freddy could feel the force behind the punch, one that would seriously hurt most anyone else.  But the superpowered fighter was able to take hits with ease, and shook off the blow.

But then the other Battle Brother stepped it, almost moving as if by instinct, delving a second powerful blow with another loud *WHAM*.  Once again Freddy took the hit, but the second Battle Brother managed to wrap his arm around Freddy's neck and get him in a headlock.  Try as he might, Freddy was not able to free himself from the larger man's vice like grip.

"That's okay, you'll still go down."  Malcom stated as he then squeezed Freddy.  The stocky private investigator felt the powerful muscles constricting him, but once again, his resilient form allowed him to take the punishment with little effect.

Lucy wasn’t concerned about what was going on in the room, she had a pretty good control of what was happening. Her main focus was to make sure that Diaz wasn’t harmed, it would be a shame to come this far only to get him injured or worse.

That why she was literally pulling no punches. When the fighter made the mistake of throwing such a direct attack she chose to follow up with a powerful blow of her own. With his attack throwing his balance off it fairly easy to connect with a blow.

Lucy's punch knocked the fighter she was facing off his feet and sent him flying out of the room through the open door to the hallway.  There he collided with one of the cheap suited goons, who was also knocked off his feet.  Both crashed to the ground on the opposite side of the hallway, the goon completely out cold and the fighter hurt and dazed.

Back in the waiting room, one of the other fighters moves in towards Crimson Tiger, slipping into a space opened up by the other fighters.  As he moves in, he manages to land a solid hit on the costumed heroine.

On the stairs, Harry the Hound looked at the fighter square in the eye, wimpering with fear.

He would liked to have said it was an act. But much as he would have liked to, it wasn't true. The act was not an act, he looked like a startled, scared dog, because that was exactly what he was.

His eyes glanced up at the stairs. Fear lent him wings, but not a compass. It commanded "away!" without thought of where away might be.

Without further hesitation, he let out a bark of fear, and scampered up the stairs, higher still. His ears and hair stood on end, alert to any new threat, his eyes dancing around, vigilant for any further fist or knee...or even worse. Fortunately he was to scared to scare himself further with ideas about exotic weaponry.

Mali reached up and clocked one of the fighters on the side of the head. He collapsed and she moved past him. One of the fighters looked like he was going to attack her, but Mali swung back and hit him in the abdomen instead, knocking the wind out of him.

She saw Mess dealing with the battle brothers and decided that was where she was headed. He looked to be getting roughed up a bit. Two on one wasn't fair, especially since those guys looked to be quite a bit more dangerous than the rest of them. She had a plan, too. Pound on the one wrestling with Mess to free Mess, then help him fight the two of them.

Scampering up the stairs in his four legged form, Harry went up one level, noting a door that he would have to turn back to human to open.  Continuing on, the canine private investigator went up another level and the stairs came to an end on a landing with another door.

Harry's sharp ears did not hear any sound of pursuit by the fighter he had tripped down the stairs.  Instead he heard a door open down below somewhere and then heard the fighter call out into what sounded like a large open space.  "So, you hiding somewhere in the dark?  Well, I'll find you!"

Meanwhile, the Mess was feeling the pressure - quite literally, the pressure of the Battle brother squeezing his squat form.

He strained against the grip, but despite his enormous strength, the grip was tight. His assailant was, he realised, as strong as he was, give or take. And he knew how to fight just as well.

And he was facing two against one. Aside from that, the two brothers seem to fight like a flawless pair.

In his head, he knew he was beat.

Damned if he was going to go down bleating a like a lamb though.

He tried to focus on the brothers blood, trying to thin in, destroying the cells. But he was too shook up, he couldn't concentrate or focus whilst in the grip of the brother.

...still ain't going to beg...he dimly thought to himself, as he felt the odds caving in.

Even as Crimson Tiger moved out into the hallway to find Bloody Mess grappled by the African American Battle Brother, two of the fighters she had been facing followed quickly after her. Both launched attacks, but both were easy for the experienced martial artist to block as she tried to determine the best way to try and assist Bloody Mess.

Inside the smaller room down the hallway, Diaz recovered from the hit he had taken and launched a powerful right hook at the last fighter in the room. The blow caught the man off guard, knocking him off his feet and sending him a good ten feet backward to land with a THUD on the hard cement floor. The fighter still seemed to be conscious, but was dazed for the moment.

Diaz glanced over to Lucy, and whistled. "Damn your one tough chica. What now?"

The blond haired Battle Brother glanced over at Crimson Tiger as she came rushing back out into the hallway.  "So, still up are you?"  He asked with a small smile.  "We'll see to you in just a moment."  Replied the Battle Brother holding Bloody Mess.

And with that the blond Battle Brother delivered a powerful blow to Bloody Mess' stomach, as the other held the short pugilist immobile.  A loud WHAM sounded from the blow that likely would have shattered the bones of a normal person.  But Mess took the blow with little more than a grunt, otherwise seemingly unhurt by the attack.

The grappling Battle Brother frowned slightly at the apparently ineffectual attack and continued to try to squeeze Mess into unconsciousness.  But while the private eye was currently unable to get free from the powerful grip, he showed little sign of being hurt by the vice like pressure being exerted.
