Velocity was still at the controls to the yacht when she spotted Trap-Door moving up quietly behind her, thanks to the three hundred and sixty degree vision her goggles provided her.  The speedster waited until he was close and then spun around suddenly.  "Ah, there you are!"  She stated, as her right hand shot out at blinding speed.

*CRACK*

But as fast as she was, Trap-Door was able to step aside at the last moment, causing Velocity's attack to miss him by a fair bit.  The speedster then quickly righted herself as she prepared to try to dodge the villain's inevitable counterattack.

"Your muscle is snoozing a couple decks below and Getaway was not doing to hot either."  She then quipped.  "You should probably just give this whole scheme up while you can."

Omen took the opportunity to use his snares as a makeshift set of handcuffs on both her arms and legs.  Luckily as she had already resigned herself to defeat, Omen found himself not having to actually fling said snare.  Tying up the dark haired villainess forthright.  With that over with, Omen wanted to breathe a sigh of relief.  But the young man had to confirm things had reached their forgone conclusion.

"So, thanks for the dance and all.  You'll have to understand if I don't write.  It's not me it's you."  Omen smirked ever so slightly as he turned around.  Wasting no time in sprinting upstairs to pursue the ringleader although he had a sneaking suspicion the Speedster from earlier had the situation covered the way she took down the muscle bound brute.

Trap Door whistled after Velocity finished explaining the merits of surrender.  "That's a good point.  A losing battle is most unsavory.  However, what sort of man would I be if I just let these unjust fools revel in their wealth.  They call this a charity, really it's just an excuse to flaunt to their wealth.  And if they're going to go that far.  Well the righteous might as well come and relieve them of their wealth and just give it to the needy.  Taking a little profit on the side mind you, charity shouldn't come cheap as the people you are trying to help should attest."

Suddenly his staff would shine with an effulgent emerald light.  A blast of kinetic energy bursting forth hoping to take Velocity unaware.  And If it were anyone else he might have had a solid chance of doing.  But Velocity was simply too quick and the blast sailed harmlessly into the nearby water.  Trap Door visibly fuming at the turn of event before the man regained his composure.  It just wouldn't due to lose himself over a slight hiccup.  "Well, no one said helping those in need was easy.  But it sure is exhilarating don't you agree?"

Posted

Velocity managed to sidestep the first blast of emerald energy, but it came far too close for comfort.

"Oh please, drop the self-righteous Robin Hood act." She replied.  "Still does not change the fact that you and your crew are committing robbery, let alone kidnapping  in the course of."

*CRACK*

Her hand shot out once more at supersonic speeds, but once again, the villain managed to dodge aside, though she had come much closer this time.

Darn it.  This guy is slippery.   The speedster thought as she sidestepped, putting a small amount of distance between them once more.

Posted

Omen continued sprinting up the stairs on his the upper deck. It wasn't long before he found himself close enough to catch Trap Door and Velocity already engaged in the throes of combat and banter. Sneaking up to the guy would have been more than doable. But, the domino masked hero was still a bit peeved on the interruption to his evening.  As such it should have come to no surprised when he took off in a sprint and blindsiding the deft man cold cocked him right in the jaw.

*BLAM*

Trap Door to his credit had tried to move out of the way before the blow could land.  It was simply misfortunate for him that he was not expecting a second opponent.  Omen for his part pursed his lips before continuing. "Sorry to cut into the repartee. But I saw an opening that I just couldn't leave unpunched.  So what is this two down one to go?  Or you could save us both the trouble and come in willingly."

Trap Door was fervently rubbing his jaw in disbelief.  He now had to contend with two of these distractions as far as he was concerned.  "How trite.  And she says I'm the one with the self-righteous act.  When I get outnumbered.  If we are committing robbery, then it should also be argued you two are committing assault.  Unless taking the first shot no longer counts as assault.  That is not even the worst crime you are guilty of.  By perpetuating the class divide that allow these real criminals to live worry free you are bleeding this city dry.  For shame.  Surrender?  No, I believe I'll settle for victory."

No one could say Trap Door wasn't intelligent.  Even if his inflated ego left him a bit delusional.  However for all that intelligence, he was a man of pattern.  As such Velocity had easily been expecting it when another bolt of kinetic energy propelled itself through the air in the middle of his speech.  This one had no chance on hitting her on a bad day, and she was in prime form to easily avoid it it and make it look like child's play.

Velocity smiled slightly as Omen arrived and delivered a solid hit on Trap Door.  "Nice timing."  She stated, hoping that the villain would realize it would be best to just surrender.

But that hope quickly proved futile, as Trap Door continued his stump speech for the oppressed of the world and tried once again to blast her.  This time the speedster was easily able to avoid the attack as she zipped back towards the man.

"Boy have you got it wrong.  You and your team are in the process of committing robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault," she cocked her head slightly toward the unconscious form of the auction overseer, "accordingly we are justified in using force to stop you and take you into custody."

For a third time, the young woman's fist shot out in a yellow blur, breaking the sound barrier with a distinct *CRACK*

WHAM

This time it connected solidly with the supervillain, knocking him backward and sending him flying into a wall.  Trap Door the crumpled to the floor, completely unconscious.

Posted

Omen cringed in mock sympathy as Trap Door collided into the wall.  Somehow he doubted the thief heard her over the sound of his own head bouncing back at the force of the blow.  Or at the very least Trap Door wasn't likely to remember it.  Which was too bad the part that was visible to the naked eye was a sight to behold.  "Nice punch.  He seemed to carry on a bit didn't he?  Not that I think he'll feel like running his mouth any time soon."  It would have seemed an apt time as any to celebrate a job well done.  He had expected something a bit more inspired than a robbery attempt at this point.

But that thought had long vanished the moment he heard the misguided speech as the villain tried to shame them with.  Which was admittedly a new experience for the young man.  But not one that he was going to fret over.  Whatever fantasy those three had crafted out in this plot didn't excuse them from the ramifications of putting so many people in danger just so they could carry it their brand of 'heroics'.  The term being used very loosely.

Omen would take this opportunity to lean over to get a better view of the lower decks.  Double checking that all the passengers whom were still on board were safe.  As well as the castaways whom had made a jump for it.  "Well, I think it's about time to clock out."

*CRASH*

Of course.  There were four members of Larceny, Inc.  Not three.  A fact that became all too apparent as the sound of a fragile and most likely pricey auction item shattering on the ground beneath reverberated through the air.  Apparently someone had taken it upon themselves to begin smashing some of the auction items on the bottom floor.  The passengers began to murmur amongst themselves yet again.  Cementing the fact that the night had yet to quite come to a close.

*CRASH*

It sounded as if the item had a brother whom soon suffered its fate.  Moving from robbery to vandalism, no one could say that the foursome wasn't at least ambitious in their pursuit of screwing over those whom they felt had wronged the city.  It was hard to say how much of their sales pitch they believed and how much was just lip service to justify their enjoyment of the crimes they were committing.

Velocity had just been about reply to Omen's comment when there were the large crashing sounds from the deck below.  "Well, looks like this little capper is not quite resolved just yet."  She replied with a small smile before vanishing in a blur of yellow.

The speedster streaked down to the lower deck and towards the room containing the auction items.  She was not sure why the last member of Larceny Inc. had not just tried to make a break for it, but as not about to just let her try to ruin the auction by destroying everything that was up for sale.

As she entered the room, Velocity quickly scanned the area for the last supercriminal, while preparing to dodge any attack that might come her way.

"And I thought I ran everywhere."  Omen mumbled to no one in particular seeing as Trap Door was out of commission and Velocity had disappeared in a blur.  Of course Omen could save himself some effort and attempt to swing down the side of the yacht.  But the risk of being taken by surprise while on a swing line wasn't worth a few shaved seconds.  Besides, even though there was absolutely no chance of him getting down there as quickly as she did.  And Omen knew this without a single doubt in his mind.  A small part of him was competitive enough to try.

As such Omen's legs would begin to work over time as he took off in an enthusiastic charge.  Giving a small yet mocking wave in Get Away's direction as he passed by.  Speeding off at such a rate that left no doubt to the man's physical conditioning.  Of course, it was a pointless endeavor.  He didn't expect a different result when he was the last person to enter the now darkened room housing the auction items. Yet the smile on his face showed absolutely no sign of considering that reality.  Simply pure enjoyment as he began to shift back into his regular stride.  Ever the competitor Omen was simply having fun at this point.

As soon as the two heroes had gathered onto the floor the hidden villaines would  make the effort to try and incapacitate them.  Grab often avoided having to get her hands dirty by fighting if not goaded into it.  Which made her initiating the combat all the stranger. "No one invited either of your to this party!"  Grab, whom was 'hidden' underneath a table, sent her arms outwards to try and sweep both of them off their feet.  She might as well been swinging at air when her arm came by Velocity who seemed to avoid it effortless.

*Whap*

Omen  wasn't as lucky as he soon felt the sharp sensation of her elongated arms swiping at his legs in a scythe like motion.  Knocking the blonde hair man right off his feet.  However, Omen didn't tumble unless he wanted to.  Or at least that was the standard he held himself to.  Twisting and contorting his body in mid air he would quickly land on his feet.  Which would only be greeted by muffled profanities as Grab realized she hadn't even slowed them down.

The infravision in Velocity's goggles easily allowed her to spot the last member of Larceny, Inc., who had taken a position underneath a table.  The speedster agilely dodged the supervillainess' attack, leaping over the elongated arm and zipping around the room and doubling back towards Grab's location.

"Well, you know, always one to crash a party.  Especially ones thrown by supercriminals."  Velocity quipped as she closed with Grab.

*CRACK*

The speedster's hand shot out, breaking the sound barrier.  But between Grab's agility, and the difficulty of attack her underneath the table, the villainess was able to avoid the attack.  Velocity continued on past, looping around the room once more before coming to a halt back on the opposite side of the room from where Omen was located, in the hope of making it more difficult for Grab to attack both of them at the same time once more.

The lenses on Omen's Domino mask were specially built to see through the darkness.  Shaking off the sensation of his balance being tested by Grab's attack.  Following the path of the arms back to their source, Omen swung his legs low underneath the table in the hopes of hitting the hidden rubber-like woman.  His boot only came into contact with air as he retracted his foot back into a defensive stance.  She was certainly holding her own despite being outnumbered.

"I'm starting to think it's a good thing they weren't all grouped together in one area.  Sheesh."

Which did bring up the question of why was she down in this floor in the first place.  Smashing the expensive pottery or whatever it was that she broke didn't exactly scream successful criminal.  Unless they found the first person willing to fence broken pieces.  On the bright sight, Velocity had made the situation more ideal.  They now had her surrounded with the speedster on the other end.  Something was bound to give eventually.

The table was providing surprisingly competent cover thus far even if the only thing draped over it was a fine see through sheet.  But Grab was no one's fool, things were not off to a fine start having to play the number's game meant that it was only a matter of time before one of them started to land a blow or two  She was tough, but she was no Smash.  So Grab's approach would have to be pragmatic taking them down in the quickest manner available to her.

The beauty of having elongated limbs.  Even on an impressively sized yacht such as this one.  Practically everything was within her reach.  A fact that Omen soon found himself acquainted with as the back of his body was soon wrapped up from behind. Wasting no time she quickly brought him to the ground as if a constrictor snake had finally found its prey.  A set of predatory eyes looming from beneath to further match the implication of what she had in mind.

Calling out towards Velocity she would try and take the heroine off her game now that she had some advantage. "Careful if you come at me again.  I might accidentally tighten up and break boy toy's wind pipe.  You know, I wonder if I accidentally squeezed and broke his ribs what the chances of hitting something important.."

For a moment, a VERY brief moment to anyone else, Velocity hesitated as Grab managed to...well, grab Omen in her seemingly endlessly long arms, and threatened the possibility of harming him if the speedster attacked her again.  But the superheroine quickly shook off the feeling.  While Grab might be rather adapt at snaring people with those limbs, Velocity was not sure she was the elastic villainess was particularly strong, and thus able to apply any considerable pressure to Omen.  Of course, there was also the distinct possibility that the speedster would be able to knock out or stun Grab, allowing Omen to escape.

"Well, you will have to see me coming."  Velocity shot back, and, proving the point, appeared next to the villainess just as the sound of her voice arrived.

Putting a bit more of her speed behind the force of her attack, the speedster's left hand shot out as blinding speed.  *CRACK*

This time, Grab's makeshift cover proved insufficient, and the first connected solidly.

WHAM

The force of the blow knocked Grab out from under the table, sending her skidding across the room a short distance before coming to a stop.  The villainess certainly looked dazed, hopefully that would be enough to loosen her grip on Omen and allow the hero to escape.

The thing about being punched while holding on tight to someone.  When you go flying so do they if you don't let go.  At least that's how things operated for most people.  When Grab was propelled forward, Omen found that he hadn't even budged an inch.  Despite the impressive blow that Velocity had to her name.  Although the blow did nothing to free him from his bound state, it did provide ample opportunity for Omen to take advantage of and free himself.

And it was truly a valiant effort.  Squirming around whilst shifting his center of gravity he was on course for a quick and fast exit.  If only Grab hadn't somehow remained cognizant enough to maintain enough pressure on the hold.  Somewhere in the back of her head, despite the pounding she had just received, she knew not to surrender the hold.  The blonde would have to give a moment of begrudging respect to that determination.  Even if it was just a fancy way to say foolhardy stubbornness.

It was a sense of stubbornness he could relate to.  Not resigned to giving up he would wait for the next moment that she eased the hold even for a second and then try and burst forth again.  There was of course the possibility that she wasn't going to last much longer anyways.  It took a single one of those super sonic fists to turn the tide.

She couldn't have even blinked in the amount of time it took for Velocity to send Grab flying from under the table.  The renowned thief was busy seeing spots as she tried to remember where she was.  It was through sheer luck that she managed to maintain the grip on Omen.  And perhaps a small sense of pride.  For a moment she would use her free hand to clutch onto her head paying close attention to her right ear.  Groggily readying herself for more, which would be all the easier of those darn spots would just go away.  For the first time since the fight began she had nothing to say.  Her motor mouth temporarily silenced by the sensation of her brain being knocked around like a ping pong ball.

Velocity was a bit concerned when Omen was unable to free himself from Grab's grasp, but at least the villainess was unable to inflict any harm on the hero.

As Grab began reorienting herself, the speedster rushed back to her, a fist darting out again at supersonic speed with another loud *CRACK*

WHAM

Once again Velocity landed a solid blow.  And while it clearly hurt Grab, this time the supervillainess remained her bearings, ready to continue the fight.  Velocity continued on past, looping back around as she hoped that Omen would be able to work himself free this time.

Omen tried again to free himself to no avail.  If anything, Grab's grip was tighter this time than it had been thus far.  Even with Velocity's fist explosive power hitting with amazing well for lack of a better term velocity.  The elastic woman was not going to go down without a fight that was clear.  Erick's muscles were screaming out in protest as they continued fatigue from being engaged in this one armed full body wrestling hold.  The message was clear his body wanted out.

It was message that he wanted to comply with more than anything.  But Grab's rebuttal was also pretty convincing in that she wasn't about to go down without taking one of them with her.  Sure, it still wasn't the worst boat ride he had ever been on his life.  But it was in solid contention for second place.  Possibly third.

Grab sneered at Velocity after the blow struck its target.  Her neck was knocked right into the ceiling like a rockem sockem robot.  As it retracted the crook made sure to note who was going to get this treatment next.  In signature Grab style her fingers would begin to stretch out and invade Omen's mouth.  Surely bumping up its standing on the scale of how Omen ranked his worst boat trips.  Her commitment to making sure at least one of them was suffering was noteworthy.  Omen's muffled complaints would get him nowhere as the color would begin to leave his face.  Grab furiously cutting off the blood flow to the costumed acrobat's head with a sadistic smirk.

The woman's fingers particularly vile invasion of his insides was far from welcomed.  "Well this has been fun really it has.  Maybe this time you'll listen to me.  Would be a shame if we both fell overboard wouldn't it?  The cute ones always thrash so adorably when the oxygen fades don't you agree? "  Grab edged back a little making sure her apparent intention to near the side of the yacht was known.  Clearly the most manipulative and least morally grounded member of Larceny, Inc she wanted to get her way.

Velocity once again hesitated ever so slightly as Grab threatened to take Omen overboard with her and drowned him.  "You really want to add murder to your list of crimes Grab?"  The speedster asked in a flat tone.  "Why don't you just let him go and give yourself up.  It will be a lot easier for you."

With that the young woman seemed to vanish in a blur of yellow, appearing almost instantly behind Grab as her fist once more shot out with a loud *CRACK*

WHAM

Once again she landed a solid blow on Grab, but once again the supervillainess was able to take the hit.  Gritting her teeth, Velocity stepped in to swing her left fist at Grab as well.  *CRACK*  But as blindingly fast as the second attack was, the villainess was able to avoid it.

With another blur of movement, Velocity retreated somewhat, but kept her position between Grab and the nearest edge of the boat.

Omen's lack of comfort of his vocal cavity being invaded whilst being smothered to death from the inside was not alleviated by the threat of being drowned.  A sense of looming light-headedness began to creep it's way forth.  Every second making his plight more pronounced.  So much for a day off.  Go to a party she says.  Mingle.  What's the worst that could happen.  Well, I have an answer for Alaina now.  A lot.

Trashing with what little strength he had in the tank at the moment, Omen had come the closest to breaking free had during the course of the entire fight.  But close only went so far when it came to suffocation.  As the paleness on Omen's face would attest.  An arm got lose and flailed about before being forced to retract when Grab continued to establish dominance on the hold.  She wasn't the strongest grappler in the world but being as elastic as can be did wonders in establishing control whilst wrestling about.  Not having to suffer all the regular anatomical pitfalls that Omen did.  Such as his body not agreeing to contort in ways that would prove questionable for a human despite how many pleas his brain made for it to do as such.

Grab made sure to hold on long enough to make the point that she was in control of the situation.  Then, her fingers suddenly unfurled from within the costumed vigilante letting him ease his way harmlessly to the ground.    Omen for his part was gasping for air and coughing out desperately.  Not that Grab paid him any more attention his part in her ploy was over with.  It was obvious how tempted Grab was to try and throw Omen at Velocity.  Not that she was positive she could even launch him far enough.  And the elastic woman wasn't about to put forth the effort to see how that would go.

As resilient as her body was.  A  beating was still a beating and Luann wasn't worth taking any more blows.  Especially if she couldn't even get a read on Velocity, whom as far as she could tell wasn't hesitating at all despite the threats.  Perhaps if her eyes could keep up with the speedster's movements to judge her body language better her course of action would have been different.  "No I suppose I don't want to add that to my rap sheet.  Not on him.  Well, I already did my job.  With the bonus of buying enough time wouldn't you say?  About enough for someone with a good enough pair of legs to make her escape with the guy that can break the big lug and I out of prison?  I suppose this is the part you bring me to the proper authorities."

Grab was correct in her assertion that Get Away had gotten away with Trap Door in blink and you miss them fashion during the tussle.  What she failed to mention was the reason she knew this was through a shared commlink in which she was updated earlier whilst favoring her ear from the blow that sent her careening out from under the table.  "Well, come on now.  I don't want to wait around all day."  Both heroes couldn't help but notice even in the dark that the only auction items targeted for destruction where items brought by a representative of Grant Conglomerates.  One of which seemed to include a now smashed beyond repair hard drive that must have been hidden inside of one of the auction items.  A matter that Grab showed no interest in addressing.

Velocity was relieved when Grab released Omen and choose to surrender.  However, that relief was quickly replaced as the supervillainess bragged about Get-Away and Trap Door getting away.  The speedster fought an urge to just punch Grab out, as she frowned slightly.  The next time she happened across this group, she would make sure they were all unconscious before going after the other members.

"We will get you to the authorities in our own due time.  Besides, the crew needs to get this ship up and running again and get us back to shore so the police can take you into custody."  She replied as she glanced over to Omen.

"You doing okay?"
