Ari Posted July 7, 2013 Author Posted July 7, 2013 DC32 Toughness save: 22. Failed by 10. Already Staggered, the Piano Noire is Destroyed! Unfortunately, while that means Mary is no longer physically bound to it, her soul is still imperiled, and now the demon has assumed the form of an eight-foot tall piano made of blue fire and bearing a hideous grin! 1HP to Pitch and Riff. The Infernal Instrument's Initiative roll: 12. New order: Riff: Unharmed, 3HP Pitch: Unharmed, 2HP Infernal Instrument: Unharmed-GM Pitch goes next.
Supercape Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 She did have a bad feeling about that one! Move Action: Feint 1d20+6=23 Standard Action: Shifting +2 DC, -2 Attack, a Metal spear. It may well be insubstantial, 1d20+8=19 Dunno if that hits, may depend on the feint. Its a DC 27 Tough save if it his - or DC 21 if it is insubstantial (Which I suspect it may be!)
Ari Posted July 7, 2013 Author Posted July 7, 2013 Infernal Instrument's Sense Motive roll: 17. Flat-footed, albeit unnecessary as they hadn't taken an action yet. So that attack hits squarely. DC21 Toughness save: 18. Bruised. So next round: Riff: Unharmed, 3HP Pitch: Unharmed, 2HP Infernal Instrument: Bruise(x1)-GM Riff's turn.
Darksider42 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 ...Well, Didn't see that one coming. Anyway! Riff makes with another blast! regular this time Roll is 30! DC27 Toughness check
Ari Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 DC27 Toughness save: 27. No damage. And now he makes his mooooooove! Area Attack Linked to an Auditory Dazzle. DC21 Reflex save, if failed a DC26 Toughness save and a DC18 Fortitude save.
Darksider42 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) Riff attempts the Reflex save... And its a 27! He makes it! The crowd goes wild for Wilder! EDIT: Turns out I need to make a second roll... 18!? Noooo! Well, I could survive the Fortitude save....24! More than enough to survive that. Edited July 9, 2013 by Darksider42
Supercape Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 1D20+4 => 11 and 1D20+4 => 9 for Reflex, so deafened! 1D20+10 => 24 for toughness, so I guess bruised 1D20+10 => 14 for Fort, so I don't know what that causes! (Using Online Dice Roller as IC down)
Ari Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) Pitch is Deafened as she failed the save for the Dazzle. Pitch's turn. Edited July 10, 2013 by Arichamus
Supercape Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Incidentally, does Immunity [All Infernal effects] have any value here? Anyways... Delaying Action to go after the Infernal thing! - which means said Infernal thing is up?
Ari Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 I am sorry for missing Pitch's Immunity Supercape, in that case yes she is not deafened by the power of Pandemonium. And now the Instrument will try to hit her with a chair! Move Action with Move Object to pick up the chair from the floor, 26 on the Attack roll with Move Object to throw it. The chair is toughened wood, so a DC21 Toughness save is required.
Supercape Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 1d20+10=17 which I guess is a bruise. Pitch will respond (at the end of the round) by using the Cantos Stick to Nullify all INfernal powers! 1d20+10=28 for the attack, which I guess hits. Opposed Nullify Roll: 1d20+10=24 Lets see if that saps some of its powers
Ari Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 And it will try to resist with its Rank 11 Array: 20. Failed! The Infernal Instrument's diabolical wards are breached! Round five: Riff: Unharmed, 3HP Infernal Instrument: Bruise(x1), Nullified-GM Pitch: Bruise(x1), 2HP Go ahead Riff!
Darksider42 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 The demons power is weakening...It is time to Strike! Riff Shifts attack damage by +2 And its a 27! 29DC toughness check
Ari Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 DC29 Toughness save: 24. Bruised again and Dazed. It can take no action, so it is now Pitch's turn.
Supercape Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Pitch will Intimidate as a Move Action: 1d20+8=13 (including Favoured Enemy Feat and -5 penalty) Then, using some chains to smash into the demon. Non shifted attack: 1d20+10=12 which I am sure missed, Ill fluff that as hesitancy on her part.
Ari Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 DC13 Intimidate save: 25! No dice. And yes, that misses. Round six! Riff: Unharmed, 3HP Infernal Instrument: Bruise(x2), Dazed, Nullified-GM Pitch: Bruise(x1), 2HP
Darksider42 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Riff is gonna go with another blast. Adjusted towards damage by +2 22 a hit?
Ari Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 Yes, that hits. DC29 Toughness save for the Infernal: 17. Failed by 12, so Staggered and the Daze is reapplied. Pitch's turn!
Supercape Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Ok nothing too flash, a straightforward blast again. Move Action: Back off 1d20+10=21 which I guess hits, DC 25 TOughness
Ari Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 That it does. DC25 Toughness save: 27. No damage. Riff is up!
Darksider42 Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Because it worked the last time, Riff blasts! Same shift in Damage and attack as before 21! Another hit! DC 29 Toughness save again. Not sure if knockback is in effect or not though.
Ari Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 It is. DC29 Toughness save: 16. Failed by 13 so Staggered again, and thus knocked out. Still there though, and its hold over Mary isn't any less.
Ari Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 To be clear, the fight is over and we are out of rounds.
Supercape Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Ok so preparing an action - a Nullify Strike - if the chain pulls Mary away!
Darksider42 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Feel free to move forward without Riff. He really has no idea what to do when it comes to demons beyond hitting them.
