You may of course make some background checks via Gather Information or Knowledge (Current Events) on the Mayor. Its not hugely pertinent, but lets say DC20 to get the basics on him as per IC. Feel free to have some narrative license about exactly how much you know of his personality etc according to your background and knowledge skills etc.

Umm, nope, Velocity only gets a 14 on her Gather Info roll.  And same for a Current Events check.

She must have been relaxing TOO much during the week in the Greek Islands.

She is off in the crowds before Robert noticed. Finding her will require Search rolls, and of course her Superspeed would be noticed!

(The initial notice roll was to notice being pickpocketed!)

Megan is going to find that pickpocket, using her Insubstantial to pass through the crowd at high speed.

Per the example on page 54 of the book, she will search a 1 mile diameter area, Taking 20 (for a Search result of 23).  Searching the entire area, if she needs to, will take 30 seconds thanks to her Quickness 10.

For Erik/Omen>

Lets not play out every hand, but you have license to narrate how the card game goes!

however, the killer card player is cheating!

He is not an expert but he is good: 1d20+10=11 he fluffs it! oppose that with a notice roll to spot him.

Of course, you need not call him out. You could cheat too! :)

Erick enters into Barfight with La Rosa killer! I have given some fluff narative of the knife in the table, now onto fight proper!

the Guy is not a minion, but relatively low PL (7).

His initiative: 1d20+11=24

Initiative Roll for Erick please.

I'm afraid not (Defence and Attack at +10, he is good!). Post away.

He will respond with a BJJ attack!

1d20+10=23 which is a hit!

As he has improved Grab feat, that starts with a rather weak DC 18 Toughness check, but more importantly an opposed grapple check. 1d20+13=14 le fail, I suspect, but please give me a grapple roll anyhow!

Out of Costume, Erick's Tou is down three.  But he makes the TOU roll with a 24.  I did, however, do the math wrong when doing the roll and put 7 instead of 6.  So the roll should be 23 not 24.

Erick manages to stuff said grapple with a 20 on the opposed check.

Erick starts it off with an Acrobatic Bluff as a move action, taking the -5 to his acrobatics skill and getting a 24 on the check as he doesn't have the fast task challenge as a feat.  So I'll need a Sense Motive or Acrobatics roll to oppose it.

Followed by a much better unarmed attack roll of 29 again with a TOU DC of 18.  If the former Acrobatic Bluff was successful the DC is 20 what with being able to make it a sneak attack.

Toughness ROll 1d20+3=11

Sense Motive Roll 1d20+8=27 although technically academic.

Fail by 5, so bruised and dazed, and we move straight to:

Round 3

34 - Erick - Unharmed - 1 HP
24 - Killer - Bruised (Dazed till 34)

Erick is up!

So going to take a power attack dropping his attack bonus for more damage.  12.  Yeah that's just bad.  Spending the Hero Point to reroll.  Which gets a much better result of 21 with a TOU save of 20 due to the power attack
