Looking around confused the seafaring princess grew confused by the sound of the nearby explosion.  She would pursue the commotion all the sooner if she could let things go.  But the Glamazon took off in hot pursuit of the fleeing mercenary.  There was no way that he would be afforded enough leniency to retreat.  Pushing through the water like a missile locked on to its target she quickly outsped the man.  Her hand flicked out like whip striking against the temple of the mercenary's helmet.  The loud cracking sound as her palm retracted echoed nearby the armed soldier of fortune's limp body slowly floating upwards in the watter.

There was little time to celebrate her accomplishment as the Atlantean's focus centered on the direction the explosion came from.  All the worst possibilities ran through her mind about what could be waiting at the source of such a sound.  Her next destination was clearly set.

The pilot of the mini-submarine felt a bit more confident in his decision to engage the teenage girl when he managed to evade her attack.  Straightening out once more, the man lined up the front of the mini-sub for another attack, launching another torpedo towards the teen.  The small torpedo sliced through the water, straight for its target, exploding a short distance in front of her.

Once again there was another explosion, the sound of which echoed through the water.  For a brief moment, the mercenary thought he might have hit the teen, as the brief flame and shockwave caused by the explosion masked her from view.  But then she emerged around one side of the shockwave, once again appearing uninjured.

Posted

Giang's quick reflexes once again saved her from the brunt of the torpedo's shockwave.  Swimming around the explosion, the Asian teen once again brought her hands up to send a powerful blast of water towards the mini-submarine.  The two twisting coils of water that shot forth quickly crossed the distance between the teenager and her target.

This time, the driver's manoeuvring proved inadequate, as the powerful jet of water struck the submersible.  The craft shook violently, the hull taking some damage from the impact as the craft was pushed back a dozen yards or so.  But otherwise, the craft remained fully functional, the pilot quickly righting it once more.

Thaelia's muscular frame shot through the water as fast as her body could move with a purpose.  Shooting past her friend the Atlantean moved much like a torpedo with its sights locked on target.  Her explosive might colliding head on with the left side of the miniature submarine fist first, the audible crash echoing to punctuate the conclusion of her assault.  The submersible found itself a slave to the laws of physics as the force of the teen crashing into it sent the machine flying sideways through the water some yards.  The driver forced to look on as its instruments went wild in tandem.  But despite the damage it sustained the vehicle remained in working order.

Clenching both of her fists Thaelia remained upright floating along with her piercing eyes trained on the machine.  Yet to call out towards roommate, Thaelia was able to piece together that Giang had been taking heavy fire all this time from the submarine.  The fact that the contraption was still standing after the Atlantean's straightforward attack meant their situation had yet to get better.

The pilot of the mini-sub managed to right the craft once more after the powerful blow from the Atlantean teen that had just arrived.  Several warning lights were lit up inside the cockpit, but overall, the vessel still seemed to be functioning.

But things were not going well at all.  All the members of Beta squad appeared to be down, and now both these superteens were pressing in on him.

Turning the craft slightly to the left, the pilot lined up his torpedo launcher towards the newly arrived threat.  Another torpedo shot from the vessel, streaking through the water to explode near Thaelia.

But the Atlantean teen was able to twist against the shockwave, avoiding the brunt of it.  What did hit her, was easily ignored given her increased durability underwater.

But the pilot of the mini-sub had not waited to see what the result of his attack would be.  He had already pushed the engines to full power, the propellers of the mini-sub spinning quickly, as it began to ascend in depth, gliding up above the rooftops of the city, back up towards the surface of the sea.

"This is Manta 2, breaking off from both teens, have sustained damage, all members of Beta squad are down."  He said into the radio as he began to make for the surface.

"We are already headed back towards the Python Manta 2, follow as you can, Manta 5 and Zeta squad will divert to assist."  Came Natas' cold hard voice.

Giang had smiled slightly when Thaelia suddenly appeared and delivered a powerful blow to the mini-sub which had sent it reeling for a moment.  The smile faded slightly when the vessel fired another torpedo at the Atlantean teen, but the feeling of worry that had started to form was quickly dispersed as she saw her friend emerge from the shockwave of the explosion unscathed.

The Asian teen then focused her attention on the wake of bubbles that the submarine had left behind on its way back towards the surface.  With several powerful strokes, Giang followed after the mins-sub, easily catching it.  As she did, the teen brought her hands up in front of her and a blast of water shot forth yet again.  The blast twisted through the water, but the mini-sub jerked to the side, the driver weaving as he ascended, causing the blast to just miss the target.

Posted

Thaelia whistled, a habit she picked up at Claremont, as the mini-sub continued to hang on in spite of their continued assault.  Jettisoning her body after the submarine a compressed cloud would form as the Atlantean teen easily ou-sped the submersible.  Diving downwards she would try and drive her leg into the machine cutting it's retreat short.  However, just as quickly as her leg came down so too did the mini-sub spin out of the way.  Continuing his ascension unabated and maneuvering out of harm's way yet again.

She appreciated a challenge as much as any gal.  Really she did.  And as commendable as their opponent's ability to hold on was, Thaelia couldn't help but whisper under her breath a string of Atlantean profanity in frustration.  Loathing the very notion that she could be outmaneuvered underwater by a contraption developed on the surface.  It would be an otherwise laughable notion.  But there they were watching as the mini-sub deftly avoided the assault by the two teenage heroines.  "Would a two pronged attack work any better?  This man and his steel beast shall soon be slayed."  The Atlantean was of course being hyperbolic for dramatic effect knowing full well that the vehicle was not a beast of any matter.  It was about as much praise as she could bring herself to confer up to their adversary.

The pilot of Manta 2 was sweating as he just managed to veer out of the path of the Atlantean teenager.  Despite the damage to his mini-sub, he had managed to avoid additional damage, at least for the moment.

"This is Manta 2, I have both teens right on me.  Hope you're ready for them!"  He stated over the radio, as he increased the power to the engines.  The propellers on the submersible began spinning faster as the vessel sped forward, a trail of bubbles in its wake as continued to ascend towards the surface.

Giang nodded at Thaelia's suggestion of working together against the mini-sub, a small smile on her face at her roommate's overly dramatic words.  "That sounds like a plan."  She replied, using a phrase she had heard from some of other friends at Claremont.

Waiting for her friend, the Asian teen began swimming after the retreating mini-submarine.  The pair were easily closing with the vessel, when suddenly a group of armored mercenaries and anther miniature submarine appeared before the pair, waiting for them.

"Looks like we will have to adapt the plan some."  Giang stated as she swam forward with several powerful kicks, her hands back down by her side as she began focusing on using her powers, her gaze fixed on the left most group of mercenaries and the mini-sub near them.  Just under a hundred feet from the group, the Asian teen thrust her hands in front of her and then swept them out to either side.  As they went, quick burst of water shot forth, streaking through the water towards the targets.

Each of the three mercenaries were hit full force by the blasts, each being knocked back as they lost consciousness.  But several of the bursts only glanced off the new mini-sub, not causing more than a bit of damage to the paint.

As battle hungry as the sea warrior was, even Thaelia was growing annoyed by the sheer number of distractions Natas could command to slow their movements.  At the very least the man could have the gall to fall alongside his men.  Instead it was just one armored mercenary after the other.

The Glamazon spread her arms opposite of one another before slamming them with as much strength as her muscular Atlantean frame could manage making sure to take aim in the direction of the remaining pair of mercenaries and  a submersible.  The force of which generated a colossal blast of air pressure tearing through the water intent on wiping out as much of their opposition as she could in one go.

But the mercenaries were able to divert their movements away from the direct path of the ensuing shockwave.  Unfortunately  only one of the mercenaries found himself unable to properly brace himself against the fringe of the assault his body sent rocketing back in response before falling unconscious.  The mini-sub's frame barely acknowledged the attack as the pilot expertly veered off course as a precautionary measure.

The last conscious mercenary was rocked by the shockwave created by the Atlantean teen, but otherwise managed to avoid its worst effects.  Righting himself, he quickly glanced around, taking in the unconscious forms of his fellow squad members.

Bringing his weapon to his shoulder, he tried to sight in the Asian teen, but she was moving too quickly, and the energy blast he fired passed well behind her.  Turning away, he swam back over to the submersible, grabbing a hold of a handhold near one of the external sections designed to hold divers as he slid into the seat.  "The rest of the squad is down, we need to fall back."  He said over the radio to the diver to the mini-sub.

The pilot of the mini-sub was already having a similar idea.  Leveling the submersible out briefly, he fired a torpedo at a point directly between the two teens which should allow the blast to catch both of them.  But even as the torpedo cut through the water, he was already moving, swinging the vessel back around and then accelerating off in the direction the damaged mini-sub had been heading.  "This is Manta 5, almost all of Zeta is down.  Falling back."  He called out to those ahead.

The torpedo exploded, the shockwave roiling out towards both Giang and Thaelia.

Giang was already moving when the torpedo that had been launched by the submersible exploded, dodging to one side as the explosive shockwave rolled out towards her.  Avoiding any ill effects of the explosion, she swam off in the direction of the now retreating mini-sub, pausing a brief moment to glance back towards her roommate.

Seeing Thaelia emerge relatively unscathed from the explosion, the Asian teen continued on after the submersible.  Moments later, she was veering around the trail of bubbles left in the mini-subs wake as she closed to within a dozen or so yards of the vessel.

Once again her hands thrust out in front of her and then swept out to either side, sending a barrage of quick blasts of water that arched through the ocean towards the mini-sub.  One of the blasts caught the mercenary hanging onto the mini-sub, knocking him forward into the hand railing he had been holding onto before he slumped back again unconscious.  Several of the quick blasts also struck the mini-sub, rocking it slightly and causing a small amount of damage.

Thaelia wasn't anywhere near as quick as Giang when it came to getting out of the way of the torpedo.  She was, however, getting used to bracing herself for impact.  Emerging safe yet again she noted that there wasn't quite a ringing in her ears after every explosion any longer.  Her armored formal attire was beginning to look as if it had been put through a warzone.    Watching as her friend cleared away the last of the mercenaries, the Atlantean took off in pursuit.

Spreading her arms she considered repeating the maneuver she had attempted previously now that they were down to merely the pair of miniature submarines.  But with Tsunami so near the vessel she dared not risk it, instead twisting her body to try the direct approach by punching towards the vehicle.  It was this hesitation that caused her to swing far too wildly completely missing the submersible and hitting nothing but water.

The mini-submarine had rocked violently after being struck by some of the water blasts from the Asian teen, but the pilot had managed to right the vessel just in time dodge out of the way of the Atlantean teen as she tried an attack.  Straightening out his course once again, the pilot increase the power to the vessel’s engine, the propellers turning even faster as it continued to ascend towards the surface.

"This is Manta 5, I am inbound with opposition in direct pursuit!"  He called out over the radio.

A few seconds and nearly a thousand feet later, the mini-sub burst up onto the surface of the waves in the midst of three other mini-subs and the Python.  Several of the mercenaries in the reinforced wetsuits were gathered on the mini-subs in the water or up on the deck of the transport ship.  All were readying weapons, training them on the surface of the water for any sign of either of the superpowered teens.

Posted

Giang swam alongside her roommate as the pair continued their pursuit of the fleeing mini-sub.  They did not have far to go before they came within sight of the surface of the waves.  The mini-sub was up there alongside the other damaged submersible that had previously escaped and two others that were undamaged.  All four submersibles were floating next to the far larger form of some sort of cargo ship.

"It appears we will have the opportunity to confront Natas himself now."  The Asian teen commented to her friend before swimming a bit closer towards the surface.  As she came to about a hundred feet from the surface, she thrust her hands up above her head and towards the mini-sub they had just been pursuing before sweeping her hands out to her side.  As before, several quick bursts of water shot out from her hands, streaking up towards the surface of the water where they struck both the mini-sub they had most recently fought and the one they had both damaged previously.

Both submersibles were thrown up into the air a short distance from the power of the impacts.  The more heavily damaged one crashed back into the waves, showing heavy damage as it listed to the side and began to sink.  Two of the mercenaries in reinforced wetsuits crashed into the water as well, apparently having been standing up atop the submersible, appearing somewhat disoriented.

The second submersible also hit the water hard once more, sinking back below the surface.  While it now showed more damage, it was still in operating condition.

"It seems you are correct in your assertion.  Let us smite our foes!"  Quick to capitalize Thaelia once more slammed her palms together.  Sending yet another compressed blast of air towards the mercenaries whom were forced into the sea by Tsunami.  One of the armored soldiers of fortune was able to get his bearings and use the side of the nearby inoperable min-submarine to brace himself for impact.  The other was not so fortunate.  Instead he was sent flying into the sinking submersible his head bouncing against its metallic underbelly quickly fading out of consciousness.

Thaelia's violent display of strength was not limited to the hired guns the submarine was also on her mind.  Glamazon's torrent of force managed to catch the sbumarine as well sending the submerssible on another vertical trip towards the surface.  Tsunami's powerful assault already placed the submersible on its last legs.  The Atlantean's technique simply managed to finish the job rendering the vehicle out of commission.  It slowly began to descend finally ending the twin inconveniences they had provided thus far.

As chaos broke out in water, the mercenaries up on the after deck with Natas all tried scanning the waves below for some sign of the two teenagers that were causing so much trouble.  Only one of those gathered up there managed to see the two heroines through the churning waters.

Natas was also searching the depths for the two troublemakers, though he proved much more adept at spotting the pair than his hirelings.  Loading his speargun with a spear with an unusual spearhead, the mercenary raised the weapon and fired it down into the water.

The spear sliced through the water, aimed at a point exactly between the two teenagers.  It then detonated, sending off a sonic shockwave in all directions.  But as with the many torpedo attacks below, Giang demonstrated her agility as she was able to swim out of the shockwave and avoid its effects.  Though not quite as agile as Giang, Thaelia still was able to move slightly out of the way of the shockwave, just enough that her durability allowed her to ignore what effect did hit her.

On top of one of the undamaged submersibles floating on the surface of the water, one of the mercenaries in a hardened wetsuit jumps back into the water, sinking down as he quickly reorients himself, spotting the two teenage girls.  Bringing his weapon up to his shoulder, he takes aim at the Asian girl, hitting her with a blast of energy.

But the blast of energy is deflect away from Giang by the thin sheen of water that was swirling around against her body.  The Asian teen felt the impact, but it otherwise caused no damage.

Up on the deck of the Python, one of the mercenaries near Natas had spotted the two girls in the waters below.  Aiming his weapon at the one who appeared to be Atlantean, he fired a blast of energy down into the water.  His aim was true, the blast striking Thaelia squarely.  However, it impacted harmlessly on the teenager, her sturdy frame easily ignoring the attack.

Another of the mercenaries, standing atop one of the undamaged submersibles climbed back into the pilots seat and began powering the vehicle back up.  He then slipped it down under the waves, preparing to get back into the fight.

Up on the deck of the Python, other mercenaries started moving about, trying to get the ship ready to depart or scanning the waters for any signs of the two teenage superheroines.  On the bridge of the vessel, two of the mercenaries were busy getting the engines back up and running, as the ship’s propellers started slowly turning, though, for the moment, they were not turning with enough speed to move the ship.

As the two damaged mini-subs began sinking down towards the depths below, the pilots of each submersible managed to get themselves clear of the mini-subs, small spearguns in each of their hands.

Up atop the only other undamaged submersible, one of the mercenaries had just finished attaching cables from a crane aboard the Python to the submersible's hard points.  "Okay, take it up!"  He shouted up to the ship, even as he held a pistol at the ready and scanned the waters around him.

Giang's ears were still ringing somewhat as she managed to avoid the sonic shockwave caused by Natas' spear.  But even as she managed to get clear of the shockwave, she was hit by blast from one of the mercenary's energy weapons.  The Asia teen also watched with some concern as one of the remaining mini-subs powered back up and slipped back under the waters.

Swimming off to one side to put a bit more distance between her and Thaelia, to better ensure they both were not again caught in the same area attack, Giang focused on the active mini-sub and the nearby diver, who was the one who had shot her.

Yet again, Giang trust both hands out in front of her before sweeping them to either side, sending quick bursts of water streaking upward towards the mini-sub and the mercenary who had shot her.  The blasts struck the mercenary squarely in the chest with such force that he was knock back up out of the water and sent flying a short distance to splash back into the waves unconscious.

Several of the blasts hit the mini-sub as well, causing the submersible to rock slightly as it took some damage, but it was otherwise still in the fight.

"I shall go one ahead and greet our visitors directly."  Thaelia called out towards Giang.  Before the discussion could be pressed any further the Atlantean teen was propelling herself through the water.  Diving out of the sea like a dolphin showing it's aerobatic prowess.  Confidently outstretching her legs the undersea royal would begin to call out into the ship, favoring a complete lack of subtlety in doing so.  "Worry not you foul thieves.  The daughter of the seas has come to present you with the gift of battle."  And much like her declaration made it known, Thaelia had in fact come prepared to battle.

Clasping her hands together she would create another shockwave of compressed air.  Sending three mercenaries flying overboard.  Their unconscious bodies floating nearby.  Including the mercenary whom had previously made the mistake of shooting at her.  One of the mercenaries was sent into the side of the ship but left unharmed by the forceful assault.  Unfortunately Natas was prepared for the attack, moving out of the way from direct line of impact and easily taking the cast off draft with stride.

There was an odd mixture of glee and anger in the Glamazon's face at the outcome.  The danger thrilled her ever as much as it ever had.  But the umbrage of her people being attacked had yet to fade.  Her mind still couldn't quite decide whether her fist were clenched more in outrage or enjoyment.  The intention stayed the same regardless.  Making these mercenaries pay.

As Thaelia's shockwave dissipated, the Atlantean teen saw that two figures who had been caught in the attack were still on their feet.  One was just another of the mercenaries in the reinforced wetsuits, the other was distinct from the common mercenaries.  He stood about six feet tall, in a black and green wetsuit that was reinforced with a number of hard composite plastic sections.  The green helmet which covered his head was designed to resemble a snake with an open mouth, in which was the opaque faceplate for the helmet.

Across the back deck on which Thaelia had landed, two other mercenaries were busy securing equipment and operating what appeared to be a small crane.

The mercenary who had managed to resist the shockwave reoriented himself and brought his weapon up to his shoulder to take a shot at the Atlantean teen.  But he apparently was still a bit shaken up, as the blast of energy missed by a wide margin, shooting off into the sky beyond.

Natas, stood back to his full height as he regarded Thaelia while he reloaded his speargun.  "Quite a statement there girl."  He stated in a cold, hard voice.  "Let's see if you can really back it up!"  He brought the speargun up and fired at the teenager.  Thaelia was just barely able to dodge the spear, the head of which crackled with electricity as it passed within inches of her.

Down underneath the waves, the mercenary who had been piloting one of the submersibles that had been heavily damaged in the initial attacks of the two teenagers aimed his speargun at Giang.  But he had trouble tracking the quick movements of the Asian teen, and his attack went well behind her.

Back up on the aft deck of the Python, one of the mercenaries who had been securing equipment moved forward some as he also took aim at the Atlantean teen who had been so brazen as to board the ship.  His aim proved more accurate, and the blast of energy struck Thaelia...

Thaelia managed to resist the blast from one of the mercenaries, even as the man on the opposite side of the lower deck activates the crane, which lifts the submersible that the Atlantean had just used to leap off of up into the air, bringing it level with the deck.

Up on the deck above, another mercenary moves over near the ladder leading down to the lower deck, looking down to see the scene below.  Seeing that the Atlantean had her back to him, he aims his pistol at her and fires.  The bullet strikes Thaelia, but her armor stopped it from penetrating, and she was easily able to ignore the force of the impact.

Over on the now raised submersible, the mercenary who had attached the cranes cables raised a speargun which he fired at Thaelia.  But his aim was well off, the spear ending up stuck in the railing of the ship instead.

Down below the waves, the only active submersible swung around to face the only active threat, firing a torpedo at Giang.  The Asian teen was able to maneuverer around the worst of the explosions shockwave, avoiding any harm.

But this brought her right into the path of another of the mercenaries who fired a speargun at her.  The small projectile struck Giang, but the thin sheen of water surrounding the teen deflected it harmlessly away.

Giang had not been able to reply to Thaelia before the Atlantean teen was gone, and then she found herself having to dodge another torpedo explosion and then being hit by a speargun projectile, which thankfully her watery forcefield deflected.

The Asian teen took a brief moment to glance back up at the surface of the water, hoping that her roommate was alright.  She knew Natas could be a rather dangerous opponent, it had taken both her and Warp to defeat him last time.  But she did not want to leave too many enemies down in the water before following her roommate to the surface.

Swimming up closer to the surface, Giang positioned herself where she would be able to target both the active mini-submarine and the two mercenaries shooting spearguns at her.

As before, the Asian teen thrust her hands out in front of her and then swept each of them to one side, sending numerous quick bursts of water slicing through the ocean waves.  The attacks struck unerringly, easily knocking out the two mercenaries and inflicting more damage on the submersible.

Thaelia soared into the are like a feather being pushed to the wind.  Although it was hard to maintain the appearance of grace when the vehicle they were standing on creates a loud thud in response to the force of which she took to the air.  The airborn Atlantean would clasp her hands together once more repeating the motion that had ravaged through as many mercenaries as she could.  It sounded as if a crack of thunder had whipped through the air as another powerful shockwave slammed downwards onto the ship.

The force of the air pressure sent the mercenary on the higher plane into the sea below.  The mercenary whom had just left the port side was sent reeling back towards it blacking out as soon as he crashed.  Unfortunately Natas was able to brace himself against the impact once again.  Avoiding any direct damage from the renewed assault.  But their mercenaries numbers were thinning.

The undersea royal eyed one of the now unmanned spear guns upon landing.  Having caught sight of the sparks from Natas' spear should have made her wary.  But Thaelia wasn't one to fear for her own safety.  "Make no mistake.  My words and fists carry weight to them."

As Thaelia manages to knockout a few more of the mercenaries, the leader continues to stand his ground.  One of the mercenaries in front of her, who twice now had managed to resist a shockwave, raised his weapon at the Atlantean teen again and fired.  The beam of energy struck Thaelia solidly, but she was able to resist the impact, ignoring the slight sing of heat as the energy dissipated.

The mercenary leader quickly reloads his speargun and sends another blunt tipped spear with electricity arcing along the tip at the Atlantean.  This time, the spear struck her dead on, and Thaelia felt electricity jolt through her body.  But the Atlantean was not one to succumb so easily, and she shook off the effects, remaining on her feet and otherwise none the worse for wear.

Behind her another weapon went off, a beam of energy lancing past her and sailing off through the sky.  Glancing over her shoulder, Thaelia saw another mercenary further up along the starboard side of the ship.

Under the waves, the last mini-sub still active in the water launched yet another torpedo at Giang's swift moving form.  The Asian teen was once again able to slip through the water ahead of the concussive wave of the explosion, avoiding any ill effects.

Up on the aft deck of the ship, the mercenary operating the crane continued to lift one of the submersibles higher into the air, rising it high enough to be able to swing it over to the be set down onto the deck.
