Avenger Assembled Posted August 7, 2013 Author Posted August 7, 2013 Cavalier can tell that this beacon's disaster signal was activated by exposure to an incredibly powerful psychic entity not part of the Grue Collective - it's the kind of alarm that would be triggered by encountering a Grue Arcane cell, the Overmind of Luyten 726-8A-Alpha, or some other powerful force. There are probably a very few psychics he's familiar with on Earth with that kind of power, but none likely to be so obvious with their powers as to trigger this kind of alarm.
Avenger Assembled Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4178135/ = 14, natural 1 for Irons' Bluff. Miss Americana can tell that this story is totally bullcrap, particularly the part about her mom being helpful in a crisis situation and making sacrifices for her family. She can also tell that Irons is, however, legitimately concerned about the Evans' family and their situation, he really means that talk about how everybody in the family should get together during this crisis - it's obviously deeply emotionally important to him. With that natural 1, she can tell that Irons is hesitating as he calls Mrs. Evans by that name; at one point he calls her Ma and corrects himself.
Avenger Assembled Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4178234/ = 27 Cavalier just makes it!
Avenger Assembled Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 It's a traaaap! And yes, come to think of it, they _both_ sound like they're from around here, which is weird since he's pretty sure neither of these heroes are local.
Avenger Assembled Posted August 18, 2013 Author Posted August 18, 2013 Initiative time for Cavalier and Cobalt Templar
KnightDisciple Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Right, sorry for the delay, still haven't solved home internet issues. CT Init: Look at this lightning fast 9.
Avenger Assembled Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4182279/ Casey Jones goes on 18 Stormchaser goes on 15 Casey Jones: 18 Stormchaser: 15 Cobalt Templar: 9 Cavalier: 3 Minus their usual teamwork, the Barnstormers don't do a good job of supporting each other. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4182281/ =12 slowed by his condition, Casey Jones misses his punch at Cavalier. Stormchaser tries to just punch him with her power punches http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4182286/ = 31! With an All-Out Power Attack. 28 and it goes over his defense by enough to get the full +4 from autofire, so that's a DC 32 Tou save for Cavalier. Ouch!
trollthumper Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Dazed and Staggered. Yeah, ow. Hero Point. Good, a Bruised instead.
KnightDisciple Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Free Action: Switch Holy Fire Control to Giant's Strength. Move Action: Get up in Stormchaser's busnax. Free Action: All-Out Attack 5. Defense now +2, Attack +12. Standard Action: Melee Attack! 13. Free Action: Hero Point Reroll! 14, but with the reroll that's 24. I think that hits, so, DC 32 Toughness Save!
Avenger Assembled Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 Tou vs 32 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4186344/ 26 Bruised and Dazed!
trollthumper Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Free Action: Switch Battlesuit's Array to Impervious Toughness 10 + Super-Strength Full-Round Action: Attempt Diplomacy. With the -10 for combat, it's a straight 10.
Avenger Assembled Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 That'll be enough to make sure there are no attacks launched by the two superhumans, TT.
trollthumper Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 And Cavalier redistributes power from his Auxiliary Thrusters in an attempt to reach Miss A: Communication 8 (2000 miles, Radio) [8 PP] That's gotta work.
Avenger Assembled Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 I need a DC 20 Medicine and DC 20 Knowledge (Technology) OR (Galactic Lore) check. You may have +10 to _one_ of those checks from the presence of the Archetech scientists
KnightDisciple Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Galactic Lore: 20. Not bothering with the others.
Avenger Assembled Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 You both realize (even CT, with the help of one of the scientists) that proximity to Grue technology, in a very small number of people, can induce temporary mutations - the space-warping powers of Grue biotech can cause people to temporarily acquire the superpowers that they 'want', in much the same way that Meta-Grue can be infused with the power of various superheroes. Sometimes the Grue use this as a morale-breaker, making the enemy think that there are shapeshifters within their own ranks, but it looks like the mutation effects of the space warp parts happened to play to some powerful psychic potential of Peter's, something that didn't show up on the typical scans. What happened to him can thus probably be cured; or he can learn to live with it as other mutants have.
