Elegy Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Gloaming rolls Notice vs. DC 15 to see the demons closing in on him with his magic detection. He succeeds. The spirits attempt to strike Gloaming with ranged mental blasts. He is surprised, and thus flat-footed. The first spirit misses. The second spirit misses. The third spirit hits, and Gloaming fails his will save hard. He spends his starting hero point to reroll and succeeds.
Elegy Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 Gloaming attacks with a Will Save Blast and scores a hit. The spirit saves well, and is only bruised. All three spirits attempt to attack Gloaming again, this time against his full defense bonus and toughness score. The first narrowly misses. The second hits, and the third hits as well. Seth, incapable of rolling a save higher than a 6, fails both the first and the second save by more than five, and is rendered unconscious.
Elegy Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) Gloaming earns a hero point for resisting sore temptation, and promptly uses it to manifest an alternate power of magic (an affects incorporeal burst area snare). The spirits and succubus must make DC20 reflex saves. The succubus succeeds, but all three spirits fail by five or more, causing them to become immobilized. Gloaming then creates a portal as a free action and steps through. 28 on a Knowledge (Arcane Lore) check to perform a ritual, modified a further +2 for Seth's familiarity with and partial mastery of the house, which creates a 30 and a success.
