trollthumper Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Cannonade, Foreshadow, Revenant, Bloody Mess, and The Hound get called to court to testify on a case some months ago. I've set the thread a few months in the future, so that we can flash back to the present day for the investigation element. If you'd like to do it the other way around, with the trial being today and the investigation being back in May, let me know and I shall edit.
trollthumper Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 All right, we're - technically - in combat! While Hangman remains outside of the scene - technically - we'll be using Gizmo's build at PL13, mainly for the mystical lasso. Cannonade goes on 6. Hangman goes on 18.
Supercape Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Are we throwing in the other PCS into this, TT?
trollthumper Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 Yup, we're now fully in the flashback phase. So, feel free to say what you're doing in City Center when Mr. Alvarez goes out the window.
Supercape Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Mess' Initiative: 1d20+7=25 1d20+6=21 for the Hound! (Who will probably run away anyway....!)
trollthumper Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Here we go: Bloody Mess: 25, Unharmed, 1 HP Revenant: 22, Unharmed, 1 HP Foreshadow: 21, Unharmed, 1 HP The Hound: 21, Unharmed, 0 HP Hangman: 13, Unharmed, 0 HP Cannonade: 6, Unharmed, 3 HP Alvarez: 1, Unharmed, 0 HP Bloody Mess is up first.
Supercape Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Bloody Mess will activate his Alternate form. Ick! (For reference, Att now +12, Def now +12, Toughness now +8, and STR now 18 [+4] )
Tiffany Korta Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Okay Revenant will boldly leap up to nearby and try and get a solid hold onto the side of the building.
trollthumper Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 I shall give it to her. Foreshadow is up next.
Brown Dynamite Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Foreshadow is going to try and get as close as he can to the building so that he may use his grapnel gun for ascending if he can reach.
trollthumper Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 That I will also allow. Bloody Mess: 25, Unharmed, 1 HP Revenant: 22, Unharmed, 1 HP Foreshadow: 21, Unharmed, 1 HP The Hound: 21, Unharmed, 0 HP Hangman: 13, Unharmed, 0 HP Cannonade: 6, Unharmed, 3 HP Alvarez: 1, Unharmed, 0 HP The Hound is up next.
Supercape Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 So Harry will duck down in the car, and transform into a dog. Whilst this is technically a free action, I would guess its a move action to duck down in the car and be unseen? Standard Action, run to street level below the noose.
trollthumper Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 All right, then. It's Hangman's action. Hangman is running the hell away as a full-round action. Or rather, Swinging the hell away. He extends his magic rope and swings out of the scene. As Cannonade can't really catch up with the guy (Speed 3 vs. Speed 6), he instead goes after the rope. Move Action to drop down to a ledge, which I'll say necessitates a DC20 Acrobatics check to stay balanced. Good. Then comes the Standard Action to attack the noose, which as an object has a DC of 5. That hits, necessitating a DC26 TOU save. From a noose with TOU 13. That's not normal. It holds this time. Alvarez's turn. He continues to choke. Bloody Mess: 25, Unharmed, 1 HP Revenant: 22, Unharmed, 1 HP Foreshadow: 21, Unharmed, 1 HP The Hound: 21, Unharmed, 0 HP Hangman: 13, Unharmed, 0 HP Cannonade: 6, Unharmed, 3 HP Alvarez: 1, Unharmed, 0 HP Noose: 0, Unharmed, 0 HP Bloody Mess is up next.
Supercape Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Ok So Mess is going to whip up the wall (Wall Crawling) and hold on to the strangulated Alvarez, hopefully taking the gravity off him to stop the choking. Unless of course the Noose is magically constricting!
trollthumper Posted September 13, 2013 Author Posted September 13, 2013 I'll allow that that helps alleviate the pressure, but that the noose is still constricting on its own accord. However, you've bought him a few rounds. Revenant is up next.
Tiffany Korta Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Lucy will try and get a hand on the rope, I suspect it's not going to be happy about this .
trollthumper Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 By "hand," are you attempt to Grapple it or break it?
Tiffany Korta Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 My first instinct is to loosen the noose to give him some breathing room so let's say grapple it first.
trollthumper Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 All right. I'll need an attack roll and Opposed Grapple check on Revenant's part.
Tiffany Korta Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Attack roll 1d20+12=13, yeah let's spend a HP on a reroll there 1d20+12=14 not much better but with the +10 that makes it 24. Grapple Roll 1d20+22=38, much better .
trollthumper Posted September 21, 2013 Author Posted September 21, 2013 All right. I'll say the noose itself has a low attack score - it's a noose, it's not known for unerrantly seeking things out - but it does have the effective STR score it would in its wielder's hands. So, +5 for ATT, +13 for STR, for +18 total. Ooh, tough luck. The noose is Bound, so while it's still doing the hemp fandango, it's doing it even more slowly. Alvarez has another five rounds before he dies. Bloody Mess: 25, Unharmed, 1 HP Revenant: 22, Unharmed, 0 HP Foreshadow: 21, Unharmed, 1 HP The Hound: 21, Unharmed, 0 HP Hangman: 13, Unharmed, 0 HP Cannonade: 6, Unharmed, 3 HP Alvarez: 1, Unharmed, 0 HP Noose: 0, Unharmed, 0 HP Foreshadow is up next.
