Sandman XI Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Targeted: A targeted area effect is an option for any effect that normally requires an attack roll. It allows the effect to “attack†everyone in the affected area. The attacker makes a single attack roll for the effect, comparing the result to the Defense of each potential target in the area, meaning the effect may hit some and miss others. The targets hit by the attack receive the normal saving throw against it, but do not get a Reflex save to reduce or eliminate the effect, unlike general area effects. The Evasion feat does not apply to targeted area effects, since they do not allow a Reflex saving throw. Attack and Save DC trade-offs apply to targeted area effects, since they require an attack roll.As for the Drain part, yeah, I figured Drain Toughness was too farfetched, so I will go with your suggestion: Drain Constitution 13 (Extras: Area [burst], Selective; Power Feats: Accurate 2, Precise 2)
Dr Archeville Posted December 8, 2008 Author Posted December 8, 2008 A) You never said it was a Targeted Area, and I'm pretty sure we're not using Targeted Area effects here (we're still working on getting the House Rules section fully updated). I'll double-check, though.
Veiled Malice Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Sorry I haven't posted yet. Be assured that it's not that I've forgotten, I just have had a ton of real life crap to deal with. I'll get to it tomorrow, promise! *crosses fingers*
Dr Archeville Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 It's the holidays, and final exam time for folks who're in school (and my work schedules gotten much more hectic). A slowdown isn't exactly unexpected ;)
Veiled Malice Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Okay, so I missed my own deadline, but I at least posted. Anyway, Mashin-kun now has Flight 5, using 10 of his 14 pp.
Dr Archeville Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 Sounds good Oh, and Sandman, since I can't find anything on not allowing Targeted Areas, that's fine to use. (But next time, be sure to tell me that that's the type of Area you're using!) Nyrath?
Dr Archeville Posted December 14, 2008 Author Posted December 14, 2008 Sandman, since that is a Targeted Area effect, you'll need to make some attack rolls.
Sandman XI Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 I already did, in the post that I mentioned that I was using the area
Dr Archeville Posted December 14, 2008 Author Posted December 14, 2008 .... d'oh! Hrm, seems Invisible Castle's changed policy somewhat, only registered/logged-in users can put notes in their die roll fields. One blob (paralyzed) left with Con 1, another left with Con 6.
Sandman XI Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Before I respond, I'd like to know if Nyrath is still with us.
Dr Archeville Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 Also, since Knight got a crit on those blobs, his Drain Con thing may have actually taken out one additional blob. I'm chatting with the refs on how crits work with Targeted Areas and Non-Damage effects.
Dr Archeville Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 Still waiting for Refs to get back to me on the Area thing, and as it is you're the only PC around since Nyrath's not returned yet :(
Sandman XI Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 How about another player recruiting? When Mongrel Angel was the only PC around you got Wesley, Vigor, and Mashin-kun.
Veiled Malice Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Hey, I'm still here! ...Kinda... <_< >_>
Dr Archeville Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 No need to recruit, this thing's almost done (there's one more visible blob-monster, and... something else ), but Knight is asking Mongrel Angel some questions. VM, go ahead and make an attack roll for Mashin (assuming he is indeed planning to attack it).
Sandman XI Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 there's one more visible blob-monsterSo the crit asploded another one? Cool Mongrel Angel hasn't answered in a while. Can I assume that she's knocked out or shocked or what have you? Either that or you can NPC her doing aerial support again. I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but I want this game to have some progress :)
Dr Archeville Posted January 13, 2009 Author Posted January 13, 2009 So the crit asploded another one? Cool Er... two visible ones (the Refs still haven't voted.) Mongrel Angel hasn't answered in a while. Can I assume that she's knocked out or shocked or what have you? Either that or you can NPC her doing aerial support again. I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but I want this game to have some progress In the interest in moving this along, I'll say she's flown up and out as soon as the two on her asploded.
Dr Archeville Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 Sandman, I need a Notice check from Knight to see what he can detect, and a Medicine check to see what he understands.
Sandman XI Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Notice and Medicine (1d20+10=14, 1d20+7=21) If I can take 10 on the Notice, I'd like to do so, but I rolled just in case.
Dr Archeville Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 I'll say you can, yes, since the blob's paralyzed. For now. Dun dun DUN!!!
Sandman XI Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Should we make Sense Motive checks or are the zebras running away just background?
Dr Archeville Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 A DC -5 Sense Motive check tells you "they're scared s#!tless of the blobs!" ;)
