Supercape Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 So Rene is going to spend an hour to see if there is any mention of "Jingles the Clown" in the past Taking 20 with a history knowledge roll for 25. I guess that wont cover if its a current event, but its a shot anyway!
Thunder King Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 There's no mention of Jingles anywhere in the texts, but I'm going to use this opportunity to give a clue to his origins in the IC
Thunder King Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 Rene will be fatigued for the day, but as I did not allow any sort of save or defense against the effect, also an HP for the GM fiat I used to make the scene work.
Supercape Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Okay, so Rene activating his Astral Form (so now he is no longer immune to Will saves!) It has adequate range. Subtle 2, so fundamentally unnoticible, but Selective so the man he spoke to last night can notice it. Throwing you a diplomacy roll in case you need it: 1d20+11=24
Thunder King Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 Roll a notice check. I'll give you results based on your rolls.
Supercape Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 So for reference deactivating Astral Form and going back to will immunity. And hailing a cab (and bribing the taxi driver to drive fast!) to get to Malloy's place asap!
Supercape Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 So Rene does indeed have a history of fighting nercomancers and black magicians over the centuries, but his reputation is pretty blurred. This is actually a bluff or trick to see if Jingles is an oldster who would / could remember those old centuries or a new creature... 1d20+11=15 a bit weak, but hey, he may be stupid enough to fall for it anyway!
Thunder King Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 Jingles does not remember but he falls for the bluff with a 13
Supercape Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Hmmm, at this point I am inclined towards cutting scene to the evening cant think of much else to do - although I quite fancy getting to know the circus crew and see if the human cannonball, lion tamer, and fire breather could help if need be? Thoughts?
Thunder King Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Cutting to the night seems like the most logical thing. The circus folk will help by making sure they are in constant communication with each other and you (that stuff will occur offscreen) So at the first sighting of something unusual, they'll contact you immediately.
Thunder King Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Everyone in the circus just had to make a will save against fear. Well, except for Rene, who's immune to them. That's why everyone is freaking out IC.
Supercape Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 So yes, for reference immune to will saves active at the moment (Head in the clouds of dream time), although note complication he is not immune to sleep or dream based effects with that. Using Magic Paintbrush to illuminate the circus with a pretty shade of pink sunlight (Light Control 10), and then heading off to see if he can blast some Circus music through the loud speakers!
Thunder King Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 The crowd are still scared, but the atmosphere is no longer one of abject terror
Supercape Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Ok so Pulling mind out of Dreamlands (so no longer having Will immunity - which might be interesting!) and bringing Deadbeat out of the Dreamtime (Summon power array). Then, I guess Rene will start looking around, whilst Deadbeat stays y the controls and ensures that the music keeps piping. Want a notice roll or anything?
Supercape Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 1d20+13=24 for Rene. If it is of any relevance, Ill throw one in for Deadbeat too, although he is staying put by the controls: 1d20+5=12
Thunder King Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Okay, well, I'm going to go ahead and say that Rene is using his detect magic for this. There is a palpable aura of menace in the air. Some very evil, scary looking magic as far as Rene can see. It seems to be thickening in a certain direction
Supercape Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Ok, the glasses work! (Yeah I pretty much should have said he was using that!) Ill let you post to that effect (and what he finds?) if thats ok. Basically he is just following the mists of dooooom!
Supercape Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 So Rene will use Light Control (Descriptor sunlight, magic) from his magic wand array, see what that does!
Thunder King Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 It seems to make the place look better, but there's still a malevolent air about him. If he uses his super senses on the tumor, it's clear that all making things look better are doing is changing the situation superficially. The tumor persists.
