Brown Dynamite Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Thaelia let out a hearty laugh. Tauntingly cheering her opponent on further all the while. "Verily. That is the way. Cross thy fist with the Daughter of the Seas further." Apparently lacking any frustration due to the blow she had taken. The odds were now two on two. From her perspective it was time to have the tide fully turn. An act that would be accomplished by fully taking down She charged forward and took a wide swing for the remaining Atlantean underling. He easily back pedaled out of the way. Leaving the princess hitting air. The glare on her face further stalking her foe. Thaelia didn't mind taking a blow or two. It just meant she would have to return the favor in kind. A debt that she would make sure to collect on all the sooner.
TheAbsurdist Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 GM The goon weaved back from her joyous blow, then he rushed towards her, grabbing at her, his arm trailing around her waist and grabbing at her for hold. But he wasn't really trying to maintain a grip, he was distracting her making her off balance for the attack of the leader, who launched that massive metal claw at her from the socket on his arm. It was a loud sound, and it unhinged and pinched around her form. The goon's loose hold dropped and he rolled from her. The grip of the black metal claw was quite tight, the force of it scooting her a few feet in the water.
TheAbsurdist Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 "...no." Errant stopped, seeing her hit with that claw, and then it all became anger and red. He was running now, his telekinetic web lashing at the water around him, disturbing it more than it would be normally with his steps. "No." As he moved towards them, guided by his growing anger, it was a palpable thing, pressing outwards. The psionic reacted instinctively grabbing that anger, and focusing it at them. Like a laser. This time Thaelia felt it, felt his rage and hate roiling then arcing out, striking those two Atlanteans. It was Errants power filled with nothing but bad intentions, and as one would expect, the quiet telepath's anger ran silent and searing, as it fed on all the things he kept locked away. This was something he tried, actively, to hide. To keep from everyone, and now he was showing it to the one person he really didn't want to see it. And in that silence, the two Atlantean thugs around her stopped breathing, as his fingers reached deep inside of their minds, and turned off the autonomic functions of their breathing. Without a sound his power impacted like a vicious hammer, right before her eyes, and confusion spread over their faces.
Brown Dynamite Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Thaelia could only look on in horror as the color began to fade from the skin of the Atlanteans. They weren't compatriots of hers. But Glamazon knew what was happening wasn't right. Coupled with the rage she felt emanating from Errant, it was almost as if he were torturing them. If it went on for too long, she wasn't sure he could stop himself before it was too late. She tried to croak out in protest. But the net had been entangled upon her flesh provided ample distraction in preventing her from focusing properly. Thaelia began to flex out her muscles. Pushing against the net with all the strength her Atlantean physiology could muster up. The binding would begin to splinter and tear until finally it tore apart. Turning over on her stomach she would force herself up. The teen demigoddess was in a panic when she began to cry out "STOP! ERRANT STOP!" This was not her fellow academy student at the moment. She couldn't put into words what he was right now. But it was definitely not Elias. At least not as she thought she knew him. It wasn't as if he were performing a blood choke to quickly incapacitate them. That anger felt as if it wouldn't be sated until there was nothing left. It was terrifying and she wanted it to end.
TheAbsurdist Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 GM Suddenly, they not longer viewed her as a threat. After all, why would they? She had been held, it was the smaller boy who had stopped them breathing, and was stopping them from grabbing up Thaelia. So they surged, unable to breathe, burning up the oxygen they had. Maybe it was what Errant was doing to them, but he moved between the two Atlanteans, with a surprising amount of speed. They collapsed into the surf, struggling still.
TheAbsurdist Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 Elias sidestepped them, his expression serene, despite the bruises that were painting his face. But then their tackle was sloppy, messy. At this point Thaelia knew that Errant was quick, quicker than to be expected, and he demonstrated that as he flowed like blood over them. "What you are feeling is helplessness." His voice so cold, so distant, as usual. Despite the palpable anger. "I've turned off the part of your brain that controls your autonomic breathing." He moved towards the one with the prosthetic arm, kneeling in front of him in the water, before his hands grasps at the man's face and jerked his head back. "I've known your kind my whole life. Petty little men who want power. Tyrants cloaking themselves in polemics and lies." He brought head down lower, his eyes locking onto Atlantean's. "You can't lie to me." Whatever icy hot anger that Thaelia felt, it was nothing compared to what the Atlantean's felt in that moment, and the man's eyes widened in fear as he looked at the younger psychic. The connection between them was strong, terrifyingly vast, and Elias felt all of the man's pain and fear like it was his own. He felt the panic. As the conscious dimmed out of the man's eyes, Elias let his face slip through his fingers as he pushed himself to his feet. "One-one thousand..." "
Brown Dynamite Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) Thaelia had no complaints with expediency. Even fighting dirty was to be expected. Combat was messy affair and worrying about keeping to some sort of imaginary rules of fairness. However, her sense of honor did not allow for what she thought was cruelty for the sake of cruelty. Errant's cold voice, the anger she felt emanating from him, the tortured expressions on their faces. Even though the pair was left standing it didn't feel as if they were the victors. It left a dirty taste in the demigoddess' mouth. If there was one thing Thaelia had difficulty empathizing with it was the manner Elias carried himself with in his attack. For a moment she wasn't even sure if he was going to spare them their lives. In fact, she was loathed to admit she still wasn't entirely sure. Thaelia wasn't above taking a life when absolutely necessary. But that was the issue, none of what just happened felt necessary to her. The only thing she was sure of there was little spoils to be had in the aftermath of this victory. It was the anger, the pure almost unbridled rage she felt from him. Already prone to her own bouts of anger. Feeling someone else's was too unnerving, too detached. Thaelia knew it clouded her reading of the situation. Maybe even scared her some. On some level, that was the lie she had to tell herself. The real reason any of this bothered her so deeply. She was a monarch of a nonhuman species in a human dominated planet. To see her own kind callously disregarded, even if they were the perpetrator of the violence in the first place, played up to some bias and personal worries deep inside. "Errant. Know that I understard our discussion of not judging you for our differences. But-." She stopped for a moment thinking of a way to word her next statement. "I cannot approve of such a victory." TheAbsurdist Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Errant never really talked to Thaelia, he had given up expressing anything about his past by the time he first encountered the big, blustery, ham-fisted Atlantean. She saw bits of his personality, that he chose his name because he didn't seem much inclined to hold back. He fought surprisingly hard, hell there was a rumor he didn't sleep. Ever. Which would be overly surprising. So she had no context for what was happening now, and honestly it was too late to start. He waited for their struggling to stop, their eyes to relax. Unlike punching someone out, he was in their mind the whole time. Their panic, their fear fired across his own thoughts. And when they slipped out consciousness he released the hold, and he and the Atlanteans breathed in sharply. Likely to Thaelia's relief. Their breathing kept coming. His face garishly bruised, he turned his head and spat out blood, before he started to walk towards shore. "And you all wonder why I have to keep control..."
Brown Dynamite Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Thaelia exhaled as they started breathing again. With the heavy sense of pressure from the flood of emotions. His was a battlefield so foreign to hers. It was hard to connect to the battle that had just occurred. If wasn't like slashing someone with a sword. Their distress as just so different to her. It was hard for the Atlantean demigoddess to keep her feet planted. The oft loud spoken teen said not a single word as Errant walked towards the shore. What could she say? For a moment there, even if just for a moment, she actually dubted whether Errant wold have driven the final nail in their coffin. Not as an act of defense or even survival, but cold blooded murder. And Thaelia felt ashamed for feeling that way. She was supposed to be his friend. It wasn't something that an apology could cover. Especially since her mind was open to him. Errant knew what went on in there, perhaps even better than Thaelia. Even if she could find the words. None were needed. So she shuffled back to the silence again.
TheAbsurdist Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 Sighing a bit, Errant pulled off his hooded sweater, and then his shirt, laying them down onto the grass, hoping some of the sun would dry out the material, a little. Then he emptied his pockets, and set them to the side of his things, followed by his shoes and socks. He turned and trudged back into the water then, going to one of the Atlanteans and starting to drag him back out of the water, before moving to the next. It was the first time she had seen him without a shirt, and the first time she saw the roadmap of scars across his torso, most prominent was the clearly hands haped one on his stomach. "Come on, we need to round them up. I can keep them unconscious until we get picked up."
