Veiled Malice Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I finally figured out what happened here. Technically, SB posted out of order, since it was Grimalkin's turn to go. However, if she posts, everything will go back to the way it should be.
Shadowboxer Posted June 27, 2008 Author Posted June 27, 2008 Oops! Sorry about that. I got a little eager there. Luckily it's easily remedied.
Veiled Malice Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Nah, it's fine. I just couldn't understand what had happened since it seemed like I was supposed to post even though Grim hadn't gone yet.
Heritage Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Sorry, I've had a busy weekend, but I should be able to post here Sunday night.
Heritage Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 I have to admit I'm kind of stymied here as to how to survive this room, since it appears we have a 'gun hydra' situation going on. My one desperate thought is based on the area of the walls the guns came out of; is there any sort of space behind the housings that Grim might be able to wriggle into if Rival sort of lobs her up there? She can climb it but throwing would be faster.
Shadowboxer Posted July 2, 2008 Author Posted July 2, 2008 I included a Notice check in the last round as a standard action. NR is looking for a way out, if anything pops up he can communicate it to Grim. However, Grim can make a Notice check as well. We don't know how many guns are behind the wall. We can continue smashing them, but sooner or later they will roll high and we'll roll low and then it's game over.
Veiled Malice Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Well, I will say that it appears Nightrival has already found something of a way out. Remember how the gun partly melted the wall where it struck it's twin? You might be able to do something with that... ;)
Shadowboxer Posted July 3, 2008 Author Posted July 3, 2008 There we go! I'll post NR's idea on my turn. :)
Veiled Malice Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 So, both of your turns are just looking for a way out? I just want to be sure before I post.
Shadowboxer Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 Yes, Nightrival is just looking for a way out. :)
Heritage Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 So, both of your turns are just looking for a way out? I just want to be sure before I post. Well, Grim is doing that while taking a Total Defensive posture :)
Veiled Malice Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Okay, Nightrival's notice check succeeded, but Grimalkin's was not quite high enough. However, it was apparently high enough to get herself stuffed inside a coffin-sized bunker while under attack by lasers. ;)
Veiled Malice Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hey SB, you back yet? I keep forgetting if you're still gone.
Shadowboxer Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 I'm back and ready for action. I'm posting ASAP. :)
Shadowboxer Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 Curse you, machines! Nightrival is moving all out to reach the hole. I think that should cover the distance.
Veiled Malice Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Sorry about the lack of postage here. I'll try to get back on the ball.
Veiled Malice Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Okay, new one up. Spooky, eh? The eyes are about fourty feet away from you on all sides, and are moving relatively slowly. You still can't straighten up, since the ceiling is only about four feet in the intersection, up from three in the shafts themselves. Any other questions?
Shadowboxer Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 I have three questions: Does Nightrival have enough room to maneuver so he can throw his trusty knives? How many rounds do the heroes have until they are surrounded? What is the length of the tunnels with the grated fans on each end?
Veiled Malice Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Sorry, I should have been clearer. There are six entrances to this area, not counting the two fans. All have the red eyed... creatures in them. The fans are above and below you, gated off by fencing. Unfortunately, you can't tell how far up and down the passages are, since it's too dark in there. You do have about ten feet to work with, since the intersection is fairly big. Yes, you can throw your knives, but you'll suffer the same "prone fighting" penalty you would if you tried to fight in hand to hand. You're not exactly sure how long it will take before whatever is coming at you will be there, but it should take at least a few rounds. Whether or not they have distance weapons is unknown by you at the time, though.
Shadowboxer Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 Okay, I have a complete picture now. I have one more question, though. Do any of the six tunnels veer downwards, or are they all perpendicular to the tunnel we're currently in? Sorry about the interrogation. When the critters get within ten feet, I'll have NR toss a few knives at them. That's his effective range.
Veiled Malice Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 They're all perpendicular - as far as you can see. Yours came up until it leveled off, about forty feet from the intersection. Sorry about the interrogation. Don't be. It's tough to know what's in the other guy's head, (especially mine  ) so don't worry if you need me to clarify things.
Veiled Malice Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I should have been even clearer. The robots/rats/etc can't shoot anything, so they're going to be marching towards you. It's fine if you want to post now, SB.
Veiled Malice Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Okay, we need to roll for init. Oh, and this is what the machine ants look like: They're crawling under your skinnn! *Ahem* kidding.
