Supercape Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 "Hear that?" asked Starshot, knowing full well the answer, this was the tall aliens type of planet. "Nothing...which means something", although what was very open to debate. But still, it was unlikely to be anything good. What was going on? "This Jungle doesn't feel natural" he mused, looking at the trees. Something above? something below? "Can you climb one of these trees and get a look? I'd like to know the lay of the land from above..."
GooseInduced Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Seika felt some of the tension ease as the jungle closed back around them. They were less exposed now. Especially Seika with her dark coloring and the patterns of her hide. Oskar had the advantage for stealth with his smaller size, but she was the one that could blend in a bit. But Oskar was right. Something was.... off. It was too quiet. Almost.... well if it weren't for the trees the place might feel, well, empty. Seika nodded. "Sei can climb yes." She grinned a toothy smile as she stowed her bow at her back. A button on the side allowed it to fold down to nearly a third its normal size and clip to a harness on her lower back. She padded up to a tree, eyeing one that might have the holds she needs and the height to see, with her vision, for miles and miles. She was made for this really. The females of her kind were apt climbers and this really should be no problem for the Kahi'iru.
Thevshi Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 Seika easily ascended the tree she had selected, reaching the upper branches that were above the main canopy of the jungle. It was much brighter up there, with more sunlight shining down on the broad leaves of the treetops. Seika could see the Lor flier hovering up above the area, doing its best to keep an eye on the pair below. Looking out at the area around them, Seika had a bit of trouble seeing through the jungle canopy, but one thing that did notice was the absence of any of the avian creatures they had spotted during their trip out here. Looking to where the rocky cliffs continued on higher, Seika could also make out what looked like some cave entrances toward the base, but it was difficult to make out any details due to the trees and foliage.
GooseInduced Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) It was a beautiful sight. Rrminded her of the tales she heard of the jungle of her species home world. She wished their was time to enjoy the view, but something about it was troubling. Everything was too... still. Sei deftly scaled back down the tree, letting herself fall the last 10 feet or so. She crouched, a strange look in her face that Oskar might read as worried. She wiped her hands on her legs as she spoke. Her voice wasn't hushed but she was making an effort not to speak loudly. "Looks like caves up ahead. Hard to see back through branches though. Don't see anything moving through them though. Very still. No creatures flying above either. Like all ones are gone or hiding. Creature may be close. Caves maybe?" She sighed. "Oh... and Lor ones still fly above." Edited April 22, 2016 by GooseInduced
Supercape Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 "Caves? It's a good shot" answered Oskar, stroking his chin that was grizzled with white and blonde stubble. "Could be tricky in them, my tall friend. I hope you haven't lost your agility!" he commented, both of them knowing this was not true. "But seriously, could get cramped in their for you..." The Lor flying ahead would be redundant if caves were the answer. Curiously, he felt relieved. He doubted they would be of much help anyway, somehow, and he was not entirely sure he fully trusted them. Perhaps that was untrue, or unfair; he did trust them after a fashion, but they to be seeing this hunt, this beast, through a different lens than him. But of course, he was the hunter and they the hunted when it came to this beast. "Lets go take a look at those caves then..." he said, pressing on through the forest.
GooseInduced Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Sei nodded, her mouth turning up into a smile. "When it comes to it Oskar you are the one Sei is worried about. Humans trip over everything." She laughs, giving his shoulder a slight nudge as she walks by the fellow hunter. She followed after Oskar into the jungle, keeping a weather eye out for anything strange in the green around them. It was all so still, as if something had scared the wildlife away.
